A group of Ladies from a Belly Dancing club display their skills
My dad (Frank Riley) was born in Berwick 1921, he was schooled there, later he worked as a grave digger, later he served in WW2, after the war moved to Toronto Ontario Canada where I was born; I have always wondered about what Berwick was really like, he always described it as a tough place to grow up in, tough people, and not much else was said about it, his mother was a Postal worker. We would get the Berwick newspaper delivered to us in Toronto in the 1960s and 70s, the main stories in those papers (that I remember) would be weddings and parades.
Nice comments sir, My wife and I love Berwick and its surrounding area we live in Lancashire but try to get up there twice a year staying at a place called "Hay Farm House" about 6 miles inland in the village of Ford.
Thank you for this short video history. I'm American and my mother's maiden name was Berwick. I haven't figured out our genealogy back far enough along that line to know whether our ancestor(s) were originally from Berwick-Upon-Tweed or Berwickshire. However, there is a town in my home state of Louisiana named Berwick, so it seems some of her father's ancestors founded that town and settled there. It's just a matter of locating the records. Either way, my siblings and I are Scottish, Irish, English, French and possibly Dutch, Swiss and Native American. I hope to visit Berwick-Upon-Tweed (and elsewhere in Scotland) someday. It looks lovely! I've been to London, Windsor, and thereabouts, but not farther north. Cheers!
These mans hate muslims and arabs and they're using arab music made by a guy who's most likely Muslim 😂

My late father's ancestors came from Berwick-upon-Tweed until the 19th century. Their surnames were Burgon (a Norman surname), Clark and Hall.
