POV; Voltanex 80 Rc boat creek rip in the park
Really happy with this boat so far, I’m getting close to 30 minutes of run time on a 6000 mah 3s battery. Really efficient, moves through the water well, and handles awesome. Seems really easy to upgrade, but the stock stuff is running ice cold and I’m having no issues. I feel like 30 mph in these conditions is gnarlier than 60 mph in the open water. ;)

Volantex Vector 80 31” RC boat review & Creek test!
Переглядів 2,6 тис.2 роки тому
Procured this thing on eBay for a deal, biggest boat I’ve had in the creek. Really fun and drives well, appears easy to upgrade, I will run it stock until something fails. I learned it does not have reverse, which can be annoying but it’s rarely needed, and with the servo mod you can just whip it around. The driving will get rowdier, this was just a first run warm-up. People have talked about t...

It’s unreal they can sell this for $100, comes with 3S battery, amazing throttle response, handles excellent, best self righting in the game. I’ve run about 60 packs through (already) with no issues, after owning several other boats this is my absolute favorite. It doesn’t have the highest top speed at around 30, but it still shreds, sounds and drives so well. Enough power to climb up just abou...

Running the smallest (15”ish) brushless speed boat up and down some creeks. it runs on 3S, with two batteries for just over $100. I’ve run close to 30 packs through with no issues, and it is a freaking blast to drive. I’m just getting warmed up on the RC boats and rapids, there will be more technical water and waterfalls to come. Subscribe if you want to see more! I do enjoy RC‘s in general, bu...

Got the brushless arrow to try something a little bigger, it handles quite well. You’ve probably seen enough reviews of this on lakes, next I’ll get it in some whitewater rapids and catch some air if I get enough “feedback“ lol Might even run a waterfall 😉

My first brushless RC boat, pretty stoked! These are some spicy currents for a craft this small, and its capability is reflected in the video. Actually sent it down in the whirlpools for a full 8 seconds of downtime & 10 feet under, check it out at 4:20. Loving the fact that it comes with 2x 2000mAh 3S Lipo. I’ve run three packs through it so far with no issues, feel free to ask questions in th...

Brand new redcat just playing with it, really fun little truck. I have an Arrma Granite as well, just got both. The servo went out on the granite, and a wheel broke on the red cat, so it’s running fresh granite wheels and tires. Waiting on servo and a new wheel.

Had this sweet little rig for a month now, it’s been super solid through some terrible crashes and is quite fun to drive. Still running a nimh, but the 5000 mAh pulls slightly better. There’s a variety of other videos for breakdowns on the truck itself, but here’s some fun clips recorded this week with my old GoBro 7.

Ja ja ja 😂 damn awesome i got same one is just insane little boat
I have owned 3 Vector boats....they are they smoothest boats. Even smoother than my high end boats! Hardly any vibration! I love the two I still have! Thanks for sharing!

Hey Paul any idea where i can find a new coupler for this boat? if not do you know the motor shaft? size flex drive size ?so i can search ebay... thanks for your help..
how amazing it survived...never saw anyone do crazy stunts like this... this little boat is badass.
Ha ha, thank you, I spend a lot of time on the river so there's a lot of cool spots for me to run boats. 🙏🏽 This thing is the most fun Rc I've ever bought. To get something like this for $100 and hsve it perform that well is amazing. Everything about it from the lights to the range to the runtime. The self righting is unlimited. Unless you break it you'll always get it back. It has a solid 3-4 minutes of run time on low battery mode. The new ones don't come with the second battery, that was an incredible deal and a promo when they first came out. Occasionally some electronics will go bad, but they will usually send you a new one right away. If it lasts for a few months it's probably fine. You only have to watch the Rudder when you come into shallows with speed. Other than that it's pretty indestructible. Just keep it in at least 6 inches of water or more. It can run in like 3" but when turning you risk catching and breaking the plastic. I found mini servos as cheap as four dollars. Smoothed out the steering even more. Always move the servo wire to the second to last notch in the arm. Gives it more leverage and tighter turning radius needed for the creeks. Unnecessary for lake driving but fun and free modification. You have to make the hole bigger on the plastic arm, but you can use the wire or a paper clip and it takes about 10 seconds.
@@paulmeier6585 I actually found this boat super cheap yesterday... just the deerc brand which is exact boat down to the 3 battery remote... i have been in hobby many years and have lots of experience building and setting up models... I kind of lost interest for boats 12 years ago,but still have 7 models, but this little beast is in a class of its own... I like the rtr 3 batt tx and may try a few simple mods once i know temps using stock setup.. Maybe it can handle a slight prop upgrade or more a 1500 3s 80c batt... or that may be to hard on esc... ever check motor temps after a 15 min hard run??? if its barely warm that would be excellent... i can't tell you how many esc's,batteries and even motors i ruined learning boat setups... thanks for the great video..
The boat runs ice cold always, you have to make sure the cooling system is clear of debris or plastic from the factory though. The motor and ESC stay below 60°F all winter. They don't even heat up slightly. Maybe room temperature in the summer. I still don't think the ESC can handle much more juice, but a higher C rating probably wouldn't be a big deal. Your problem will be fitting it into the boat, these batteries fit perfectly and make a bomb proof set up. I have yet to find a good prop pitch that works. Anything that fits has too much cavitation. I've tried several, not a lot available for the 3 mm shaft. Everything is 4 mm or bigger. I think it's a perfect boat stock with the servo maneuverability modification. 180 spins on command. It does about 25 miles an hour and gets there in a hurry. If you're on open water you'll probably be more satisfied with a bigger boat.
The summer is when it's really astounding. It stays so cool, in the winter I'm pumping 40° water through it so there's not much chance to heat up.
did you just use the stock battery? or did you put a 3s lipo in it? great demo..
Yeah the stock batteries are excellent. I literally can't kill this thing in less than 25 minutes. It often lasts for 40 min, they are incredibly efficient. People can't get them fully charged on the usb charger unfortunately 🔌 I use a better hobby grade charger and get them juiced. They charge in 20 min or less on 3A, but usually 2A & 30 min. I have a ton of them I need to sell a few. I've gone through a lot of these boats, they're pretty reliable but I do wacky stuff with them. I only record a tiny bit. 😂
@@paulmeier6585 I been in hobby many years and i actually never had a car or boat etc use this type of battery... i have 2 hobby grade chargers... do you use regular lipo polly mode when charging... Also does this boat let you know when the its time to come in...my other boats from many years ago when voltage was low boat would drive 1/4 speed and i would bring in...thanks
What do you mean by this type of battery? It's just a different shape, it's a pretty typical 2000 mah 3s, it has a low discharge rating but isn't labeled. I know it's a low discharge because I hooked it up to a basher with a much greater draw and it heated up too much. It actually burned part of the soft casing off at the battery connection points, but still works perfectly with a little heat shrink. They are excellent batteries, and have kept up with three other name brands.
Yes I use regular Lipo mode, it's a lithium ion but the cells balance the same way. i've charged them hundreds of times with zero issues. For low power mode, it stays on full power and has a beeping alarm at the remote.
I actually never even realized it was a lithium ion until I double checked just now. I see what you mean about the different type of battery. Works like my Lipo's, honestly I would say it performs better. I don't get that kind of run time out of batteries that are three times the size 6000mah 3S!
I tried to do this now my balls are broken 💔🥲😭
Finally came around to buying the r608 haven't even got to run it
Ran mine in three different creeks yesterday, got some epic footage of it. Might make a post, nobody really views my videos so I just keep most of my video on a hard drive. Too much of a hassle to wait for UA-cam upload 🤣
@@paulmeier6585 Here in eastern wa it has been colder than usual but soon it might be good to drive once the ice layer goes away
Yeah we've been getting some good freeze thaw so lots of water, can't wait to run this thing together with the R 608, I've got a yellow lid on it now and it matches the red/yellow Alpha rev.
@@paulmeier6585 I just ran the r608 boat a few days ago, it is very fun and long battery life but definitely could benefit by a slightly larger prop? It's the same prop from my r208 smaller boat.
Hard to find good props for that little shaft. I've tried a couple and they just slowed it down. A three blade and a two blade with a different pitch. Needs to be a bigger two blade with the same pitch I think for that motor. Let me know if you find something that speeds it up.
Didn't ride in snow but yesterday I rode in the cold 24 degrees to work and the bike died half way in
Bummer, I definitely get a little bit less run time if it's freezing but can still go at least a few miles.
@@paulmeier6585just be careful
Great Video! You are ripping on this thing
Ha ha thanks!
My cover latch was not locking either. All you need to do is loosen the screw. 😉😁
No the little tab broke because I didn’t push down hard enough and was forcing it against a flat spot. Good note to loosen the screw though it is pretty snug.
@@paulmeier6585 Dude! Check out the video I just posted today. It's real cloudy so you can't tell that it's carbon fiber. Can you tell what kind of boat it is? I've always felt the need to personalize everything. I think it looks bad ass! What do you think?
Pretty stealth looking. Cool 😎
Good vidéo, like from France 🇫🇷
Great boat 👍🏽
I watch a lot of rc reviews and demos. Kudos, great video.
Why are you talking like Kevin Talbot?
That’s pretty funny, if serious people who’ve known me for 20+ years find nothing unusual. You’re just not used to people being stoked, Kevin definitely brings it! 🥲 Cheers
@@paulmeier6585 You said "absolutely epic" like how do they not realize
Yeah, I actually forgot about that. You didn’t notice the mocking tone? I was just joking around. Yes, that part was deliberate. I think it’s comical the way he always says that. Cheers
@@paulmeier6585 Yes I'm surprised nobody has pointed that out yet though. I am a Kevin Talbot fan so I saw that straight away
Well, not everyone takes themselves as seriously as you. They either ignored it, or realized I was just having fun.❤️ 🥲
Cool vid. That thing runs nice. I tried the jet jam and it sucked. Thanks for sharing.
Right, yeah I know a couple people with the jet jam. This thing is the same price and will light it up all day long.
I wish I saw this before I got my boat
Thank you.. looking to buy this model and this was the best video demonstration to help me decide
You’re welcome, I drive it every day. 😎
Price?
$100 on Amazon I have a couple of them now.
😳 𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚖𝚘𝚜𝚖
Damit now you made me want to fix my little jet boat. I did have fun with it. Although the self riding bs was a bit bs. Lucky I could get to it a few times it did flip.
Yeah dude I would fix that bad boy and get one of these too. I’ve never had a concern I’ve flipped it hundreds of times it just flipped back over before I even hit the gas, even faster with throttle. It just has the right deck shape.
I rave about this thing just because I’ve been having so much fun with it. It’s my first RC boat and I’ve had four others and it’s still my favorite. It’s the driest, most reliable, and has those sick LED lights that you control from the remote, and it’s a joy to drive at night. 😂🍿
I'll check into it. Although I need to get a new speed control and hit the waves again. It's not nearly as fun as my m41. It's a screamer 50+ mph
Yeah I’ve seen all your videos of that bad boy, it is definitely a ripper.
Cool boat 🚀💥😎 Nice video in different places 👍🎬
That's a sweet little boat. It's fast!
I love this little boat, the size, the speed, the lights, it’s the coolest thing I have ever bought for under $110
Nice video bro 👍🏼
Thanks man, just getting warmed up in the RC boat hobby. I will have lots of swift water and probably some waterfalls coming soon. 😎
Where did you buy this from?
Amazon, they’ll be back in stock in two or three weeks. But they will sell out in a week or so most likely.
@@paulmeier6585 thanks!
Excellent Fat bike man! and nice skill's too!
Thanks bro, looking forward to getting some more riding in. Got a couple good snow runs but it’s been a slow winter..
Nice review. Looks like a lot of fun. May have to get one.
Thanks Donald, it really is a great boat. I’ve run about 10 full charges through it and beaten it on rocks, logs, and beach sand with no issues except a few scratches.
Which specific model is this one and does it have shock absorbers? If not how does it handle large pot holes?
It’s just the regular Jetson bolt, the original from 2017. No suspension, just little 12” wheels I try to avoid the bigger potholes.
@@paulmeier6585 Thx
How do you manage to ride without knowing the speed? It's very disappointing that this electric bike doesn't have a speedometer.
You can add a bike speedo, just find one that works for a smaller wheels. They are fairly cheap, Honestly though, I have a similar bike with a speedo, and it doesn’t make much difference to me. I generally know whether I’m going 5, 10 or 15 mph. I will say it’s interesting to see exactly how much it slows down on different hills with the speedo. 🙂
just rode through about 4 inches of snow. worked like a charm
Fun shit ❄️
Cat dad to rescue! 😼
i fall down from jetson pro bike cause the road was slippery
I have no idea how you managed to pull off these tricks: it was snowy and icy out and I went out to give this bike it's first spin: wiped out twice on the ice on the smallest turns.
Yeah, not an ideal bike for snow. It was fun to do some “testing“ though. You’ll notice I’m only going straight in most of the clips, making any kind of turn requires much care and is still marginal 😅
Is that safe?
Probably not, go around a corner with any speed and you’re going to hit the ground.
I got the Jetson electric scooter bolt and now it's not working cause I try to hook up the Bluetooth to it and I don't know what to do now to get it start back up
Sorry to hear that, if it was just something you switched on the app there is a lock out, and a few other options. Just search through the app and make sure everything is turned on properly, there are other UA-cam videos that go through the Bluetooth/settings
@@paulmeier6585 thank what do I look for the Bluetooth help
I'm 6.1 tall, do you think this bike will suit me?
I’m the same height, I love these bikes. If you go to Costco, the Jetson bolt Pro is slightly larger with identical geometry. The 14 inch wheels smooth out the ride and it comes with pedals!
@@paulmeier6585 When the charge is finished, if we turn the pedals, it will move forward, right?
@@edebalisd3605 yes
Great rider's perspective video Paul. It gives me a true sense of the bike's nimbleness and maneuverability. You cut thru tight spaces, hopped a few things and really made it look fun. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks Mike, I appreciate the stoke! I just love to goof off on these little bikes, that one has bout 500 miles with no issues. Amazingly solid for a couple hundred bucks.
