Christmas Time Is Here Again

This is an original Christmas song I finished writing yesterday. It started as a random thing I was playing at church a couple weeks ago warming up and it turned into a song. Songwriting is so random.

ChatGPT ported my game from PICO-8 to DragonRuby
Переглядів 1162 місяці тому
I was working on porting my PICO-8 game "Walk To The Spot" to DragonRuby. I asked ChatGPT to help and I was surprised with the result. Long story short, ChatGPT ended up porting my game from PICO-8 to DragonRuby after a bit of back and forth. Eventually, it got to a pretty good spot for basically translating from one game engine to another.
I Asked ChatGPT To Generate Album Art
Переглядів 322 місяці тому
I decided to try using ChatGPT to generate the album art for my latest song "Misunderstood Prophet". The results were surprisingly good. It ended up doing the job really fast and pretty well. For someone with minimal artistic ability, this is pretty useful for taking one of the pain points out of publishing a new song to iTunes, Spotify, etc. via Distrokid.

I traded my Mustang for a Katana, I could not get it to sound good no matter what. It just sounded digital to my ears, while the Katana sounded great even before diving into the software.
I´m new to distrokid and i was wondering how much does it take for Distokid to pay you, I`ve posted my 1st song on all platforms the 2nd November, it has been a month now, its 3rd December, and they still haven't paid me anything, so when do they exactly pay you?
Could you share your pickups height?
Thanks Brian. You've given me a reasonable expectation of what is ahead. I've encountered the 10,000 hour rule, it's a good yardstick. I can make an estimate of my road ahead and I know that what I put into it will be proportional to what I get out of it. I appreciate your comments and I now have a balanced view of what to expect, thank you!
You hit the nail on the head, brother! I picked up the GTX 100 a year ago and loved it so much. I bought a second one used for half the price just to have two of them in case the first one went down or I needed another speaker for a bigger venue. So happy with my decision and can’t stop raving about it.
Oh that’s a fantastic trick to prompt it to write it as if it was written natively for dragon ruby
It is so cool that the ChatGPT code ran the first time! Great project thank you for sharing
Brian, you are 100% correct. I own a GTX100. I also own the actual Tone Master versions of the Princeton, Deluxe and Twin. I love the TM Deluxe. HOWEVER, I have my GTX100 dialed in to sound 99% identical to each of the Tone Masters. PLUS, you get all of the built in effects AND a really great foot controller. I also ordered the Tone Master Pro and FR-12 powered cab to try out. Although it had a lot of cool features and effects, I didn't like the actual AMP sounds through the Pro and FR12 as much as much as my GTX100...go figure! So, I returned them. If you are here because you are on the fence about spending a lot of money on Tone Masters, I would HIGHLY suggest getting a GTX100 first, and if you don't like it, you are probably not going to be happy with any of the Tone Master line either.
What a beautiful song! It is number on my top rated songs! 😊 Record this song and send it to Nashville.
I finding that building with in your local community can help sales,i have 2 tshirts 1 for my recording name, one for my studio, and tell people when a new song is released. Locals are looking and buying a bit.
I’m considering one of these Zoom portable recorders OR a USB mic which can go direct to my iPhone (Shure MV88 or Apogee Mic). Any suggestions on whats a better option?
It really depends on your workflow. There are lots of people who record with both. I've sort of settled into a hybrid of recording away from my computer on the Zoom H4n or the Tascam Model 12 and then finishing the tracks inside of Reaper. But it would be possible to do it all on the iPhone too with the right USB hookups and apps.
Great video man ! I wanted to buy it as i wanted to use it in nature and have something than can record me playing professionally .I was just wondering when you record from the two mics the guitar doesn't pick up your voice as well?
Great video. Thanks for putting this together.
You're welcome!
This was helpful as there were not many introduction videos for this pickup. I think I'll buy it and try installing it.
Been gigging with my Mustang GTX 100 + a wah pedal for over 3 years and couldn't be happier
if you want to have responsive centering of numbers you can do something like this: SCREEN_WIDTH // GRID_SIZE // 2 - (FONT.size("0")[0] // 2)
Thanks for sharing this review. I also liked the movie when I was a kid and I'm starting the book now. What you said about the Postman's lie(in the book) kinda getting so big in sorta comes true reminds me of a scene from the movie that I never understood. It's been awhile, but if memory serves towards the end of the movie, one of the mail couriers, maybe Ford, is captured along with some guy we've never seen before, and that guy claims to be from the restored Republic of California(?) or something like that. In the movie, we never see or hear anything else about it, but the idea that the hope inspired by the Postman's lie has become a self-fulfilling prophecy makes sense. Anyway thx for sharing.
You're welcome!
They recently "upgraded" the app to 4.0 for the GTX (because of the mustang micro plus) and basically screwed it all up... Slow to connect to the amp... They force you into landscape mode... They broke saved presets... Lots of broken and missing features from previous versions. Searching online was broken, but may have recently been fixed... but in other cases, still broken, and feels like stepping backwards. It's such garbage, and I think this seems like a clear push to try to get current GTX users to move to their overpriced TMP platform. It's not just a pain in the butt, but clearly a crappy marketing stretegy. I really hope they fix the app and at least give us the OPTION to use portait mode on a phone/tablet, and bring back some of the features they gimped!
Has anyone actually heard a conclusive answer in whether they are the same models/modeling platform? Does this mean the mustang micro plus has tone master pro tones for $130?
This is like the pod go to the helix
Not to mention it take about $13 to put out 1 song.....
That is not distrokid
For some reason, no one seems to have done this tuto before you. Thank you very much sir
You're welcome!
My question is, does the pro control app work with the gtx50-100
Pretty sure it's the same phone app for both called Fender Tone.
Right now i have around 199,000 plays on my song 13,000 coming from apple music and the rest from Spotify the majority like 65% coming from Brazil by ad supporters but still haven't got paid, how much is that give or take?
I don't know.
You get paid yet how much have you maid?
that's about 40 cents
that´s a lot! congrats!! id say surely more than 50 bucks
You probably have 10 streams from each platform, 1 million streams gives you 5000 dollars and that’s all the platforms combined, imagine if you made 1 million streams per platform, see? It all comes down if the music marketing is good and if its marketable to listers , talent x Marketing = cash flow 🤙
Bro you just ddnt promote your music enough
Good video. Thanks for this break down.
The GTX isactuallly a few month over 4 years old. I've had one since the debut and gigged it plenty with no switching issues and much better tone than many think. I agree with you that the TM series including the pro and the clone amps don't necassarily sound substantially better. I've played the deluxe ad i prefer my GTX because even if i DID hear much of a difference , i would never pay double for it and lose an infinitely more feature laden amp. But truth is i didn't hear anything more realistic or better. I also believe from what i have heard that there will be a TM pro based combo soon, possibly a mustang successor. But it;s gonna have to be a heck of an improvement for me to give up my GTX. decades of gigs with some great tube amps and the GTX is just the most satisfying amp ive owned because it sounds the same every nite and i'm almost never reaching over to tweak it at gigs because my tone ain't happening. That was a never ending thing even with the best tube amps i've had.
Have you updated to the new 4.0 app? I hate it. What are your thoughts?
I don't like the new app.
@@brianknapp2000 They royally screwed it up. I found the old APK and loaded it back on my phone. My buddy said 4.0 killed every single preset he had, too... HOURS of work, just gone, until he went back to the old version... >:(
Hello Brian! Can you make a video about tunecore tiktok royalties? I have been watching you for 6 months :) I would be very grateful if you could make a video on this subject. some places say pay per video and some sources say per view.
I could, but I don't use Tunecore or tiktok, so I have no idea what their royalties look like.
I didn't understand Anteac's purpose throughout the story? She seemed to kind of just be there to represent the Bene Gesseret but didn't really...do anything? Maybe i missed it.
I’m on the search for a modulation / effect device. I’m owning a fender mustang gt100 and i was wondering if the step to the pro master is worth it. I came to the same conclusion that the real question is: is it worth the price difference 🤷🏻♂️ I’m not convinced. For now i’m leaning towards the hotone ampero 2 stage. Less then half the price and better options imo. An extra route for voice sounds good. Especially for home use. The one thing which is a plus for fender is the use of an ios/ os app. Sadly enough i can’t find one for hotone. So oké, i’m still searching 😋 Thanks for the video 👊🏼
Dou you know if its possible to use analogic pedals whith this amp?
Yes you can use analog pedals with the amp.
I have a full gain pedalboard with 9 pedals on it and they sound like perfection through the GTX. Even better than my tube amps. I am going to sell my tube amps soon. I don't need anything else.
I did little pedal board to use with the GTX. Its much better than the on board effects (especially the overdrive). Planning selling the gtx and buy a Tone Master soon...
@@tiagopeggau6256 why? It’s just a $1700 non speaker version of the GTX
@@MasetheguitarmanI had the opportunity to play, side by side, the GTX (Princeton Reverb preset) and the Princeton Tone Master. The TM is MUCH better. Its like 2 total different sounds. And they suppose to sound the same...Its expensive but worth the money.
Agree with everything you said. Also, TNG is the only star wars worth watching imo.
Glad this video was recommended to me! I agree and hope that things will turn around soon. I think part of why they brought in Faverau for the Mandalorian was because they were hoping to get a definitive W on the books with Disney.
Hey-! I just want to say thanks for putting this out there. Frankly, I've grown pretty exhausted from 'engaging in the discourse' as it were, but I'm guessing that tear I went on last night was what tipped YT off to putting you in my feed to begin with. You're one of maybe two people I've seen who've gone about this in a constructive way, let alone acknowledged the issue with attention economy grifters, so, again, thank you for that. A buoy of sanity in an ocean of.. god I don't even know what to call it. What I do know, is that my mental sea legs are tired, time to hang my hat on this vid and take a rest.
So, I’ve played the tone master in guitar center for over an hour, and I’ve owned the gtx100, and the gtx100 sounds better, AND it has waaayyy more amps
I also own the gtx100 and sat in a local music store for a while with the tonemaster pro plugged into the fr cab and the tonemaster sounded just okay. Not bad by any means, but I could tell the tonemaster pro's algorithms are VERY similar (if not exactly the same). GTX100 is a pretty great value for what it is.
OMG, is this for NES Jam? I'm trying to make a Turbo-Racing clone with a friend!
No, this is for the PICO-8 fantasy console. But honestly it’s not that far off
Very good points, that's why I like indie games.
Can the GTX 100 replicate a good acoustic effect (s)?
yes
I actually came to this conclusion by myself but am more confident about it hearing someone who seems to know what they are talking about reinforce it lol! Thank you!
Ah yes, I got the 256th view
We definitely appreciate the modesty and the humbleness and this video. Keep it up, man. 💯
Flood them with albums catalog
i made 80 cents with new mixtape spooky Island i got 4000 streams 🤦🏽♂️
Pls new video this conted

Yep.
Thank you for giving realistic expectations.
I have tried both. I don’t own the TONE master pro, but I had it for a few days, but I do own the GTX 100. I also own a quad cortex. I am getting a little bit tired of the FRFR thing as I am not able to get it to react like an amp. And if I’m going to use a Hi cut EQ to get rid of all of the tweeter sounds, why do I need a tweeter? Duh…. I run a leave on Fulton 2b booster in front of the amp and then I have a Keeley Halo delay in the effect loop of the GTX 100. I swear that this little system sounds so incredible after you tweak it, that I am considering replacing my quad altogether. I don’t need 1000 sounds but I like to have at least a good 15 to 20 for any kind of genre and this thing does it. I will say that the GTX 100 has a few real good presets, but a bunch of bad ones from the factory, which is quite common. But what you can create if you take, some time is staggeringly good. I forgot all about the TONE master pro, which I was very interested in after trying the GTX 100 and then purchasing it. I also want to say that the compressors are not the same. I could not get the tone master pros compressors to sound the way the GTX 100s do. The GTX 100 by far sounds better when it comes to compression . I think the fact that the power amp is immediately connected to an internal speaker just makes this thing sound great. I think something is just lost with FRFR . Lastly, because the I/O is so good on the back of the amp, you’re able to send a stereo left and right to the board if that’s important to you. But if you want a complete stereo set up on stage, you can also do that as well. I have a 210 stereo FRFR cabinet that I hooked up to and it sounded great. I am very impressed with this little amp and I completely agree with this video.
stop talking price. a ferrari costs what a ferrari costs. you will never get one for a price of a fiat.

I bet your right!
