John Bonham taught me everything on the drums. I've now been playing for 40 years and still jam the Zeppelin tunes. My favorite to play still is The Levee, adding my own fills. Thank you for this video, it was great!
Man this man changed the drumming world. Thank you fellow drummer 🥁🤘
love what you are putting out man ;-)
Thank you so much for watching. 🙏🥁
I met him at the Chicago Drum show! He does very cool things to drums too. Super unique art on the drums!
Super unique, awesome guy and very artistic.thank you for watching 🤘🥁
Sheboygan, WI here!!
Haha yea Sheboygan!!
Eric Moore is the King of Aquarian Drumheads.
no doubt that dude is insane drummer.
@@Johnnygigdrummer Yessir!!
Randy Castillo is from Albuquerque NM
Thanks for the correction you are 100%right. Great drummer 🥁
@Johnnygigdrummer my personal favorite!! You play awesome as well bro!!
@ thank you!! 🙏 keep on rocking
It’s Aquarian. Not Aquariam. They aren’t fish bowls. You’re a joke.
How you like the cymbals so far?
i love them and they sound good they are kinda like the ziljian A customs brilliants.
@ Awesome! I’m considering an endorsement with them and was looking into their different series. Thanks for responding! 🙏🏽🥁
@ awesome fellow drummer I wish you the best. Keep on rocking
Thanks for sharing! I still like playing live gigs, but still don’t like the logistics of driving long distances to and from, setting up/breaking down. But while playing, all of that is forgotten! Band sounds great!
See you get me haha yea the extra sucks but it’s still better than washing dishes at a restaurant Saturday night. Thank you fellow drummer keep on rocking 👊🤘
Your tuning sounded awesome and your new heads look sick on your kit! Fellow drummer here and just discovered your channel. Subscribed and look forward to future content. Happy 2025!!!
Thank you 🙏 much I love these aquarium drums heads so far. Thanks for subscribing and watching fellow drummer 🥁
Remo is my favorite drum heads But aquarian is not half bad
I agree a long time remo guy but these were recommended from a fellow drummer like us so far so good.👍🏼 thanks for tuning in.🤘🥁
Those new heads make ur kit look nice
@@jeromieb038 I’m glad I bought them they sound great. Let me know if you ever give them a go I’d like to hear what you think. keep on rocking.🥁🤘
Awesome video!!! So many of us in the same place! I have been wondering about Aquarian drumheads also. Would love to see a video on how they sound live and hold up. 👊🏻
So far so good aquarium drum heads my next video will be with this drum set with these heads. Thanks for watching.👊🤘
Hello from CANADA ROCK ON !!!!!!!!
Hello 👋 and thank you for watching much appreciated 🥁🙏 Canada is on my bucket list.
Sweet Drum kit and the 26 inch gives a nice vibe!
yea ha its a monster but the its a good sounding kit i love playing it. thanks
Aquarian is the best
I like them going to order a snare head next.👍🏼🥁
"hugs" brother ;-)
Nothing but love bro🥁 thanks for your support
Yeah!!!! Sounds awesome!
Thanks and thanks for watching 🥁🥁🥁
Those black skins really look sharp on your Gretsch! A good-looking and sounding kit to shine under the stage lights is so cool! My Gretsch kit is a 7 piece silver sparkle rig that looks and sounds pretty amazing, too! I'll be looking forward to your next video but until then Onward and Upward, my fellow drumming friend ! 🥁✌️😊🥁
Awesome a fellow Gretsch player I always wanted a kit like this but was married and couldn’t afford it but now I’m single haha and I’ll be adding a 8x7inch Tom. Thanks for sharing 🥁
Right!
The drummer is the first one to arrive at the gig and the last one to leave.
That is the truth my fellow musician drummer the truth!!🥁
Glitter looks awesome under the lights! Good job with the drumming and drumming/singing.
Thank you, that glitter definitely shines under the stage lights, I appreciate you. Keep on Rocking 🤘🥁
Drummer should get paid more
Agreed. Thanks for watching 🥁
It’s a job hauling drums to gigs setting up playing tearing down ! I was playing 4 nights a week before Hurricanes Katrina hit us ! Plus working a full time job ! You have to love the music for that kinda dedication !
Yes, you do have to love it. I love it and the pay is good. It pays better than other states. I’ve lived in Seattle New Orleans, Texas. Do what you love love what you do work is work. Thanks for watching..🤘🥁
@ I’m in Louisiana and played the casinos in N.O. ! Good pay… but the private gigs are the money ! Layed up a while had surgery on my hip hoping to be playing around March ?
@@Kevin-kr5ok definitely those are the better paying gigs private and corporate gigs I wish you a good recovery so you can get back to hitting those skins.🤘🥁
You just came up in my recommendations today. Thanks for sharing. I haven't played in a band for over 20 years now (drummer) but I play once a week at two shared venues together with my buddy, a former professional drummer. We do a jam night at one club one week and at another the next and alternate all year. I find this satisfies my performance 'itch' and keeps me in touch with some really great musicians. I am 69 years old so now I don't want to travel, set up, tear down and play in between and do it all again. Plus I get to play different songs too when anyone else turns up and say, 'Do you all know 'x' song?' and we have a quick run through then play the song for real. Absolutely wonderful. Keep doing what you do for as long as you want to. Take care and keep rockin'. Norm. (UK)
Thank you, thank you thank you for sharing your story. I find other drummers lifestyles. Very interesting. We’re all in this together and we all do it because we love it. Thank you very much for watching from the UK let’s go..🤘🥁
@@Johnnygigdrummer Thank you Johnny for the rapid reply. Keep on rockin' my friend.
Playing a trumpet is a lot less stress.
Lol yeah and a lot less set up one of my daughters placed a trumpet. She absolutely loves it. I think if you love an instrument, we do it because we love it for me. It might be a little work, but I get paid well for doing it. Thank you for watching. Keep playing that trumpet.🤘🥁🎵
@@Johnnygigdrummer Thanks for the kind words. My daughter actually got me interested in playing. She was maybe 12 years old at the time. She gave up after a year or so. Too difficult...... I am still going 30 years later. Still learning.
How about not youtubing while you are driving... super unsafe and irresponsible.
Yes I agree next time I’m pulling over to record thank you.
I hope Chris brought his guitar and amp because hes on rhythm guitar tonight.
Yesss that’s funny stuff 😂 thanks for watching 🤘🥁
Really enjoyed this Johnny.... hello from Canada. Thank you for posting. I'm also a weekend drummer and appreciate the work that goes in to gigging :) Keep the videos coming. Cheers.
Hey fellow drummer from Canada I heard Canada is beautiful. I would love to come and visit someday yeah we all do this because we love it and I like meeting all you guys hopefully someday we can have a big chat live online and just talk drums cars women whatever.🤘🥁
Awesome! You’re living the dream of a rocker. I do the same thing. Enjoy the time you have to do it. I’m not a great drummer. Good enough for barroom gigs. I used to play with double braced stands. Made a decision to go with some new lightweight stands. I can carry them all (5) in the case they provided. Minimal drums too. Makes a difference. Best of luck from Massachusetts.
Those double brace stands are a real mother 😂. Thanks for sharing fellow drummer I like hearing other drummer short stories we are blessed.keep on rocking 🤘🥁
Loading into a trailer with soft cases is such a sin. Hard cases or flight cases only..smh
Totally agree 100% thanks
Hey, buddy is that a Gretch Renown.?
Yes it is I love my Renown kit. It’s the lasted version. Thanks for watching 🥁🥁
Man that is a nice kit loved Johns playing big influence on me I got to see Buddy Rich twice second row unreal.
oh man buddy rich is one of my favorite drummers of all time and john bonham was another favorite. thank you for watching.
Good job bud really enjoyed your drumming I used to do it back in the day.I like your ride cymbal is that a 20" kit sounded good yeah keep it going and you have a awsome outlook.
Thank you 🙏 appreciate you! 🥁🤘
Thank you very much thank you for watching and tuning in I much appreciated and the ride cymbal is a 20 inch 🥁🤘Soultone custom.
Started gigging at 15. Forced to stop at the top of my game at 66 due to severe progressive hearing issues. Protect your hearing. I always did and still wound up with severely diminished hearing.
Thank you for the advice. And taken thank you. Wow you are definitely an experienced drummer. 🥁 thank you for watching.
Friend of mine gigs weekends.....Robert Thompson......
Hey if you can find work aka gigs that’s great keep playing. Thanks for watching 🥁🤘
Keep grinding. Just started drumming to, learned 3 fills withing 2 weeks!
That’s awesome I glad to that.Keep going it only gets better from here🤘🥁
@ will do ill be following you!
@ thank you 🙏 keep on rocking
Man, not many people there…sparse gig?
Haha I’m an honest guy. I think the most we had was about 20 people at one time but in Wis. if the packers play away on a Saturday night it’s a ghost town in Green Bay but if you get lucky on the opposite home games you meet alot of people from the other teams house is packed haha.thanks for watching Rick on 🤘
@ yea, understandable, I’m in a bar band in Sarasota Florida and some of our gigs are pretty sparse too…We moved from Eagle River, WI so I’m familiar with the area…tough finding decent musicians in north Wisconsin.
@@jimbaxter8488 very true. Keep rocking nice meeting you sarasotas a nice area.🤘🥁
4 hrs of driving plus setup and tear down to play for 20 drunks... living the dream right there.
@ haha yes agreed.
As a drummer for several bands in my lifetime, I remember dragging my kit to and from many gigs. I don't play in any bands now, but I do enjoy jamming from time to time with other musicians. The best part is the jam spot is at my house, where my kit is set up and ready to play. No more dragging drums around for this old cat.
I hear you I’m starting to feel that a little specially in the winter time I think 2025 will be my last year for doing gigs and then just concentrate on the channel. Thank you for watching. Keep on rocking bro.
@@Johnnygigdrummer I love recording my own stuff now, as I can get around on guitars and keyboard as well. It's fun and I love creating my own music. Happy New Year!
@ that’s awesome I’m glad you’re doing what you love.happy new year 🤘
Hey Johnny. Check out drummer Senri Kawaguchi and theJazz Avengers. It's a little different but you might like it. 😎
Thanks! I certainly will do that
Started playing out at 15, stopped at 62 too much work. Winter gigs were a pain, ice cold hardware, every piece out of tune lol . I still get offers but nah haha. Keep hitting things with sticks!
Ha ha I’m starting to feel the same way brother I hate winter gigs. I think this year 2025 will be my last and I’ll concentrate on the channel. Thank you for sharing and watching. Keep on rocking.🤘🥁
Yes I played for a number of years with a general business group. Played drums and did most of the lead singing. Eventually DJ's started taking more and more of the business. It's the nature of the business. Did DJ work too. Happy to see you're successful in getting gigs as a drummer. Have chops will travel. 😁😎
@@PrescottJackson-ih9ow that’s very true thank you for sharing. Yea djs make good money.💰
Johnny the Ludwigs look great and even sound better! The Ludwig manufacturing plant is in Monroe,North Carolina about 30 miles from where i live in North Carolina. The Soul tones sound awesome too. I was seriously thinking of purchasing an ensemble of them myself when im ready to make the move. You do a good job as a drumming vocalist. I know it can be tough because I've been doing it for many years myself. I'll be looking forward to your next video Keep rockin the skins my friend! Old school drummer ☝️✝️👑🙏🥁🎤✌️🥁🙂
thank you. they are now tuned better lol. have you ever taken a tour of the Ludwig plant? that would a bucket list check off.
@@Johnnygigdrummer Not as of yet I haven't but I do hope to do so one day soon. I play a 7 piece Gretsch Catalina Maple kit right now which I really like playing and they really sound great. However, I have mind set on another kit of Ludwig when I'm ready to make the move. Which is getting stronger every day! Lol😁 I figure since I live so close to the plant I'll just go there and buy them straight from the factory. I played a Ludwig kit back in the early 90's year that I really enjoyed playing so I know they're awesome drums and I like the fact that they're American made too! Keep 'em rockin my fellow drumming friend and Lord willing I'm looking forward to your next video! Old school drummer☝️✝️👑🙏🥁✌️🥁😊
This is why I don't gig anymore. I'm too old to roadie... player since 67
I totally get that all the moving and the hauling is not fun. I still consider it better than some jobs but yes I don’t like hauling all that stuff around. I’m hoping someday maybe this channel or something else allows me to kinda leave this behind that would be nice thanks for sharing and thanks for watching.
No phone while driving please
Yes you are right. I need to pull over and talk. Thank you
@@Johnnygigdrummer I'm sure the need to hold a stick in your hand must be great but that is the wrong time.👍
@ agreed thanks for watching
Keep rocking brother ;-) "hugs"
Thanks my brother
It's so cool that you can drum and sing at the same time
Thanks man! And for your support keep on rocking 🤘
Yea I love singing and playing drum Phil Collin’s in my top 5 drummers
Love the message you shared about being yourself, great sounding cymbals and your playing 👍
Thank you 🙏 appreciate you
Congratulations man! I'm trying out their 13" natural prototype as a test. Great customer service 🔥 What're your thoughts?
So far so good their customer service is very good I love being apart of the soultone family. I hope you find your sound yr looking for my fellow drummer
Great stuff, love your personality 🤘

I love that kick drum
