Could You Pay The Price? - Arcane, a Video Something
Переглядів 45 тис.2 роки тому
I'm always late to the party, but Arcane was a party worth having. I'd say "Welcome to the Playground", but there are enough references in this video to snuggle a chicken into choking oblivion, which is starting to sound too much like one of those live - in all the wrong ways - mukbang videos, and I'm not THAT twisted. Anyway, Arcane is awesome and this video, hopefully, showed you a few reason...
I was supposed to talk about theme, but themes happened... - Squid Game

Takeaways: - Mr. Beast's work is amazing and deserving of this analysis. - Squid Game is awesome too. - I need a job. How to Properly Subvert Audience Expectations - Invincible
Переглядів 6703 роки тому
I really like this show. Amazon did a great job with it and I felt a need to give it some more recognition while at the same time trying to make . So, this is how subverting expectations should look like for all writers and here are plenty of reasons why this show might be the right thing for you if you have not yet watched it.
Specificity & How to Tell Better Stories
Переглядів 5013 роки тому
We meet again. You look great, btw. This is a short video on how to tell better stories and improve your communication skills, both in the written and spoken word. Be specific. That's the gist of it. There's also some video games, some Bill Burr, some Brandon Sanderson and me, Mario. Now you tell me: just how good is that thumbnail?
The "Biggest" Hero in The Lord of the Rings
Переглядів 6703 роки тому
Eight. That's how many times I had to re-edit this video. And it was totally worth it. I keep seeing Sam get all the love from the Lord of the Rings fans and I understand - he's the loyal one, he did not fail Frodo once, he is the best friend you could possibly have. But Frodo? Frodo would not have gotten anywhere without Sam and yet he is still the one who lost the most along the way, the one ...
A Rewrite for Something More - The Witcher

Here's my -analysis, critique,- REWRITE, and opinion of Netflix's: The Witcher. I tried my best to not be that negative. I guess I too can fail sometimes, just like this show. So after dozens of hours editing the thing, 20 rendering it once and another 20 later because why not, here it is. This demonic beast. Let Geralt chop it to hell. Chapters: Let's Begin - 00:00 Episode One: The Lesser Evi...
Counter point, Jinx caused EVERY problem that started after the beginning of the show.
This is my favorite movie. Ever. Period. I doubt there will ever be a movie that comes out that I love more. Whenever I feel like I just want to die, whenever I feel like all of the work I do is for naught and all I will ever do is hurt and disappoint everyone I love, I watch this movie. And I laugh and I cry and I text my parents and tell them I love them and I kiss my husband extra hard. I cherish these few specks of time.
it's a powerful piece, I'm glad you're taking full advantage of it. Cheers!
Absolutely wonderful video!! I love Everything Everywhere All At Once and your commentary on it is phenomenal 👏
it's a fantastic movie, thank you cinnamon!
I needed to see this, thank you <3
that means a bunch, thank you man
This was amazing
you're amazing
Absolutely amazing video. Never stop making content
thanks presto, i appreciate that
Great movie, cool analysis. Still I have to admit, it would be cool to be a rock sometimes. The quiet... shmm
ye it would be nice to have a pause button around somewhere so it can all just stop for a bit. It might be meditation. I'd have to ask someone who actually does the stuff though. Anyway, thanks man
que calidad de video amigo! <3
gracias bro!
Juani Valmaggia, This is great! Let's be friends and have fun together!
Wow. That thumbnail. Gwen is so hot and pretty
Never thought of this movie in this deep of a manner. And now I think it makes the movie 10x better!!! Thank you!!!
The more lonely you feel the more isolates you become, the more isolated you become the more lonely you feel. Phrase noted, thanks

HOW DOES THIS ONLY HAVE 85 VIEWS?
This is amazing video based on the colours and one of the key themes in this movie to feel belonged. Gwen is my second favourite character in this film and I think the colours showing her emotions in this film is truly heartfelt. At the start, like u said she feels blue because of her best friend death, not having a great relationship with her father and mostly being disconnected from miles as she is thinking about him while the mirrors on the train reflect on his face. ( quick note this is going to be long) Now someone brought hummingbird which I agree with comment about it. But self love is Gwen’s inner turmoil Based on her father’s betrayal and Peter not loving himself and trying to love her by trying to be someone he is not. But it’s not only that it’s also about miles because look at this lyric “came to the city for the love, goanna hurt him now, oh my she is a long way from suburbia.” This indicates that she went to miles because she truly loves him and has come a long away from her universe to see him but has to hurt him because of the canon event. Which results in feeling blue. In this film, Gwen turns pink after she said “what I always think … ur amazing” showcasing her love and admiration for miles. She literally turns pink in many scenes when she is around miles. When she went back to her universe she turns orange which means determination to fix her mistakes with miles by trying to find the photo in her drum set. Now in 14:09, I don’t think anyone notices this but if u look at her eyes, u can see red and black. Showing that she is still thinking about miles. I like what u said about her father’s and Gwen colours mixing together to have hope. Which results into purple, this means frustration. They are both feeling frustration to not get along, Gwen’s disappearance which led to disconnection and what happened last time they saw each other. U can see that at 14:58 her hair changes colour showing blue (sadness) and purple (frustration). This is because that she can’t help the people she loves the most (her father, Peter and ofc Miles) and knowing half for who she is ( with keeping secrets from miles but most importantly not being true to herself on her true feelings for him). Then u see the environment turn white when Gwen and her father reconcile . Which means peace. Proving miles is right. That u can do both, another way, canon events not being what they said they are but also what I think truly is because that Gwen realises that miles is right there is a first for everything. And that she can have a relationship with miles and be with the people she loves especially him. In conclusion, Gwen’s colours demonstrates how we shape the world through our eyes rather we are experiencing pink (love), purple (frustration), orange (determination) and blue (sadness). Her arc in this movie, is emotionally powerful and how she achieved to accept herself and love who she is. With the two people she deeply cares about accepting and loving her ( miles and her father) which helps her to feel belonged and connected with herself, her father, friends and the boy she loves.
Love the additional emotions attributed to colour man. We're never feeling just the one thing, are we? Anyways, thanks for taking the time to write and expand on the video. Cheers Carlton!
amazing video! While i knew significance of colors in the movie, i enjoyed your thoughts on the topic. Wish you all the best, you deserve more recognition.
Beautiful video 💚
I love how you mentioned the line " through a love which is unconditional within reason" at 16:45. Not only is it from the song "Humming Bird" (which is a love song for Miles and Gwen) but it also suggests a nuanced perspective on the concept of unconditional love. It implies that while love is typically regarded as unconditional, there may be certain limits or conditions that can influence or affect it. A good example of this is the clock tower scene between Miles and Gwen. Gwen wants to love Miles to fullest she can but stops herself from doing so because of canon, but at the end she knows its all is possible and is willing to take that leap of faith cause of Miles actions throughout the society. A huge reason why I love this movie is how these characters are beautifully written, these characters have so much depth and emotion that it basically makes them real people. Anyways this was very well produced video, it definitely needs more recognition.
So glad you caught that haha. Thanks for the comment iconx, means a lot
8:34 is literally the Thin Blue Line. His duty as a cop is overriding the warm orange colors he had in his apartment. If it wasn't clear he'd be a cop 1st and a father 2nd from this image, the next few seconds prove it.
crack
I'm glad youtube recommended this video, pretty good!
Amazing, deserves way more recognition
Thanks zach
real
7th like. Yes it is very bluetiful lol
Amazing video, I love how you've analyzed Spider-verse's themes through the lens of color. Your ending points made me tear up, great thoughts as always!
Means a lot man, thanks
The sad thing is that Vi didn't wanna fight Piltover for the Undercity. Maybe a bit for herself. But mainly to make sure Powder has a better future. And we all know how that turned out 😭
Arcane is basically a series of people doing and saying the wrong things at the wrong places at the wrong time. And everyone suffers the consequences that might've been avoided had things gone slightly different. That's what makes it so frustratingly beautiful.
One of the greatest Arcane videos I’ve ever watched. Can you make videos about Studi Ghibli films, Andor and Cyberpunk Edgerunners?
Arcane and Breaking Bad are both supreme tragedies, while in Arcane is hard to place the blame on any one person, in breaking bad you can easily blame Walt's ego for dragging things out
Saying Heimmerdinger is the fault why there's a Jinx is like saying Obamma is the reason why american's doesn't have a free healthcare. If there's anything we can learn from the real world is that no matter how powerful you are you can't change the world yourself.
Wooo, a Hellblade mention. I wasn't expecting that but it fits the 'theme' so well XD And I still think the saddest moment in this show was when Ji-Yeong gave up the game and despite all that already happened in the show, I had to take a 5 minute break after that (and some of the other deaths we see/assume) before resuming the next episode. I'm glad I'm watching this now though after some time has passed and revisiting it in this light gave it more meaning into the psychology of it and not just "Oh, she knew that the other player had a brother to return to after the game". I'm glad that Thank you for the analysis, I never thought I would be taking psychology notes from UA-cam about a Netflix series, yet here I am.
Yeah, Jinx is less a character and more an element of world-building. Makes the whole character a little boring to me, but whatever. It's not the only part of the show after all.
All the characters in ARCANE are Greek Tragic Heros; they all have Hamartia (tjhe fatal flaw), go through peripeteia (reversal of circumstances), and reach anagnorisis in each's arc (discovering true nature of their own circumstances). People will talk about ARCANE's theme of duality as father/daughter, mentor/student, 'brotherhood'... and those are true but where the duality really intertwines is the dualities of Hamartia, Peripeteia and anagnorisis among the characters. Even supporting characters like Sky, Sevika, and Marcus have tragic hero arcs.
Great video
Thanks Sami!
Under rated channel
Guy, this could be so much better than the actual season ! I kinda recognize some of fundamental Brandon Sanderson's tools, I assume they were useful to this work ^^ Oh, and is that a coincidence that your season is seven episodes long while Dan Wells's plot structure is composed of seven beats? Maybe, actually, don't really know. Also, never really found that multiple story timelines are a flaw of the show, yet your rewritten season is great in this linear way!
i never thought of it this way. thanks for showing me this new way of thinking. that being said, imma need a minuet to process all of this!
I think what made Jinx such a powerful character is that it was her fault, and a lot of anti-hero stories today, or enemy stories justify the behavior because they were bullied or had a rough life. Arcane has a different message, that as cute and innocent as Powder was, her own actions are what created Jinx, and she knows it, hence the pain being amplified. Yes, Mylo gave her a tough time, but everyone else was very patient with her. I actually think this mimic's real life more accurately. It's not painting her as a victim, it's painting her as a tragedy based on bad choices, and fear.
it's not her fault, but unfortunately, it may be too late now. it seemed like there were points where vi was making headway with her. but after she assassinated the council members, there will be no resolution without her head.
i love how vi stealing ( for revenge on enforcers) starts everything problems ...if vi didnt steal that day..it would have started the story undercity with something bully scene
Great video!! Loved this show and the comic. It's funny that you compared it to GoT, cause I had similar thoughts. Well done! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Sevika didnt betray anyone, Vander betrayed her. He changed his way, he wasnt willing to fight anymore. And his will to fight for the cause was the reason Sevika followed him. When he changed paths, she changed sites. Just because Sevika doesnt blindly follow someone, doesnt mean she's a traitor. Thats just how Vi sees it.
Great Video.
What's especially tragic is that, if Powder didn't interfere, everyone would still be dead. Yes, Clagger opened the wall but Vi was losing and Vander was still tied down. There were still more bricks to kick in, more clasps to be undone and Vi was down for the count; they were dead either way.
sometimes we need to fight tho.... I come from a country that was occupied for over 48 years, our people were oppressed and murdered by a bigger and more powerful country , Vander put his gloves down and stopped fighting but that meant the fact that Zauns people continued to be oppressed and poisoned, if it comes to Zaun then I agree with Silcos point of view...its just the means how he tried to receive the free nation of Zaun that were very questionable and radical if I am honest then if I see the last scene with Jinx nuking the council...in my opinion council had it coming.... they are responcible for Zaun and people in Zaun are oppressed and poisoned....it was only matter of time until someone rebels and kills council members
Damn well said. Thank you!
Thank you for watching man!
damn that was good
Perhaps you might like to look at the bottom right hand corner of your cog graphic and note that the teeth do not mesh but seemingly turn the gears. It might be a profound statement or a misunderstanding that we need to interact to keep the world turning.
its ryzes fault, because jayce was meant to be dead
Sometimes I forget how amazingly deep this story truly is. Thanks for the reminder.
