The meeting of Smith with two heavenly personages in the woods was a story he made up to support his ideas about polytheism. Smith put into the mouth of the two visitors the idea of the exclusive nature of Mormonism because he was not content to just lead the credulous but wanted to make it appear that he and his fellows were on to what needed to be RESTORED. This dates Mormonism because the RESTORATION MOVEMENT was all the rage at that time. The Book of Mormon is woven throughout with heretical ideas and even folk magic. It follows the story line of Ethan Smith's [no relative to the prophet] book A View of the Hebrews published and disseminated in and about New England upstate New York. The similarity between the two books demonstrates that the Book of Mormon could not be a translation of what Smith found on golden plates which he dug up from the earth in upstate New York. Mormonism let it be said stretches credulity to the outer limits in its attempt to make use of Christian terms and names in order to sound authentic.

What humans (the whole of them) don't know is how a truth shall convey, especially a historical truth. There are multiple characteristics about a unique way for a truth to officially/legitimately convey amount humans. I just name one of these characteristics, possibly the most crucial one. If the US government has a crucial message for its citizens, what shall it do? It should go through a US-facing mass media to broadcast the message. Similarly, if God has a crucial message for mankind, He should "broadcast" through a "mass media" which shall be human-facing! Christianity remains the only religion which serves as God's mass media and is preaching/broadcasting God's message in a human-facing manner. It's the only religion with a clear command from its deity that "the gospel (God's crucial message) must be preached (i.e., broadcast) to all nations (making it human-facing). All other religions can be neglected as their gods don't know how to convey a message correctly! That being said. Judaism is only Jew-facing. It's like the US government has a crucial message but only broadcast it in a village with few people! It's so because Judaism back to Jesus' days failed to function correctly. It failed to acquire the last piece of testimony which is about Jesus and thus failed to broadcast God's message in a human-facing manner. God has to employ Christianity as the new mass media and for it to convey the message legitimately! In a nutshell, humans don't actually know what they are doing!

In Jewish tradition the truth is only accepted if there is at least 2 witnesses, Yeshua said in John that He has 2 witnesses, Himself and His father. Now the Jews have Moses (laws in the Torah) but they reject Yeshua, the Christians have Yeshua but reject Moses. Many are called to be saved but few are chosen to be the bride. The bride is one who follows Yeshua ie walks as He walks and does what He does, since Yeshua was a Jew who kept all the 613 laws and Jewish feasts and all the Sabbaths. So the chosen bride must be the same as the groom, and so it must have 2 witnesses, 1-Moses and 2-Yeshua. In other words the bride is not someone who disregards the Sabbaths ("holy"days) and worships on Sundays ( "holi"days/ pagan Rome) and has false idols worshipping statues of stones or wearing crosses around their necks, and celebrating false holidays like Christmas(Horus) and Easter( Ishtar). "I came not to abolish the laws, but to fulfill (deliver and teach) them". "If you love Me keep My commandments (Torah)". Christians that really accept Jeshua will be saved but will not be chosen to be His bride and live with Him in the Holy City, as He wants those that keep His commandments to be His bride. When He comes, the Christians will make excuses saying "Lord Lord did we not heal and cast out demons in your name?" these are Christians, not Jews or Muslims since they were doing these things in His name. He replies "depart from Me you workers of iniquity/lawlessness". Picture a cross on the earth, this cross represents the 3 Abrahamic religions Jews/Christians/Muslims. The left is an arrow pointing across the land of the earth, lets say this arm represents the Jews, on the right is another arrow representing Christians. Here both will become the gentiles of the earth since the arrows point across the earth. The bottom arrow is buried in the earth pointing straight to hell, that represents the Muslims as they're under the dirt in darkness already. The top part of the cross points to heaven, this is the bride that accepts the Torah and Yeshua. The Jews have 1 witness (Moses), Christians have 1 witness (Yeshua) but they need both to have the Truth, the Messianics have both. The Messianics (called the Nazarenes) also died not long after Jesus and have been resurrected within the last 50 or so years. Its interesting that even the name changed from Nazerenes to Messianics, just like Yeshua's name is changed from Yeshua ben Joseph to Yeshua ben David when He comes back. Since the Christians rejected the Torah, it is they who will be coming to the new city once a year to worship Yeshua and will say to the bride teach us the Torah. Think about it, God commanded us to keep his Sabbaths forever, never said keep them only until My Son comes and dies.

“It was the best of religions; it was the worst of religions. It brought life, love, and compassion to a dark and cruel world. It also brought torture, repression, ignorance, slavery, and death to an innocent world. It burned with Light and Truth. It also burned the Bible and those who believed it. “Those who adhered to it built universities, hospitals, and orphanages. They also justified poverty, exploitation, war, and conquest. They brought food to the hungry, medicine to the sick, work to the destitute, and hope to the hopeless. They filled the earth with contempt for man, contempt for God's creation, and contempt for God. “What is this thing called ‘Christianity’? The Bible does not tell us. The Bible talks about something else.” The Separation of Church and Faith: Copernicus and the Jews (page 186) by Daniel Gruber

Jews (Messianic Jews too) don't grasp Torah as a tree of life because they want to be Messiah (Isaiah 53) so bad but without KNOWING HASHEM as ONE with them: If Hashem is ONE with them, then they are as he is in the world, they have to be ANOINTED BY THE HOLY ONE which means their "EGO" (self) has to be removed to make room for Hashem: Christians may not understand Hashem but they will get there before the Jews because little by little they are PUTTING JESUS (express image of Hashem, i.e. son of David, son of Adam, SEED of Hashem/Yachida) above 'self" which Jews can not do because they don't believe anyone is higher than Hashem, but they can NOT NOT NOT NOT SEE OR HEAR HASHEM so he remains only in their VAIN IMAGINATION hence vanity vanity all is vanity to the Jews who are the ones who make an IDOL of Hashem, not the Christians. Christians do not CLAIM to be like God but claim Jesus is LIKE God and in truth is GOD HASHEM MAINFEST IN THE FLESH; HOW else could anyone KNOW Hashem but the experience of UNITY WITH HIM? Jesus is the name of all who are baptized into his name, the soul who has RISEN (feast of tabernacles, rapture) to be ONE with Hashem: This goes over the head of the Jews every time. It keeps them in exile and will continue to keep them in exile, because they don't GRASP TORAH as a tree of life planted by LIVING WATERS (ANOINTING WITHIN THEM RISEN TO THE PLACE OF THE SKULL /KETER): Either Keter is revealed in da'at (KNOWLEDGE OF HASHEM which REMOVES THE VAIN imagination (beheaded of this abomination of desolation) and increases the desire of the heart 600 x greater than they have now, or Keter is only their vain imagination, and Messiah, and King David and Hashem who will be ONE according to their own teachings, are SIMPLY NOT UNDERSTOOD by their carnal mind, the seed of the serpent that is ENMITY with Hashem and can NOT KNOW Hashem, and like Esau (their physicality, donkey) are unable to REPENT (do teshuvah to return to Hashem) because Esau is their hairy physical part is the CREATION, while Jacob their SOUL MUST ascend by the MOSHACH, the ANOINTING and HOLINESS OF HASHEM the ladder, see Hashem face to face and live: Isaiah 53 is about the SOUL of Israel, not the corporeal (Esau) part of them, but they don't know their OWN SOUL which is why they can NOT HEAR, nor have they SEEN Hashem face to face to live: If they had experienced what Jacob experiences to become Israel, they would no longer NEED another to teach them and they would grasp they are part of the Messiah as the Last collective Adam. RELIGION SUCKS Messiah rids the world of religion, all Abrahamic religions, thank God: No one will say KNOW HASHEM when Messiah RISES within them, the HOLY OIL, anointing that reveals Hashem in them and makes the LIKE HIM (let us make Man in our image and LIKENESS): When the SOUL is risen above the donkey, Judah rides that donkey to Jerusalem as the SOUL ABOVE THE DONKEY, no matter where the body actually lives. Religion can be the FREEDOM for the people or the PRISON OF MAN over the people, hence religion sucks when people who never HEARD OR SEEN HASHEM try to control them: David was smart enough to prefer being under God/Hashem than man: Only David (the heart that understands knowledge (bina, da'at) will be King, or the MANIFESTATION of Hashem in that day: the nations will call him Jesus: Jews who are anointed will understand this and be helpful instead of hindering the nations from finding Hashem: about the Candice Shmully debates: neither Candice or Shmulley have seen HASHEM face to face and even if they had, it would not help anyone but them: Hashem is a jealous God in the sense that he wants that CONNECTION (YICHUD, DVEIKUT) with his creation by his YACHIDA (ONLY SON) who brings many sons (Israel) to GLORY:

I think “gap” is a bad description of the difference between 1:1 and what follows. I’ve always looked at Genesis 1:1 as a “summary” statement (“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”) That summarizes all of physical creation. Everything that follows (Gen 1:2ff) concentrates on the creation of Earth. There is no “gap” but an understandable concentration on the portion of the creation story that impacts us the most. And yes the UNIVERSE is billions of years old, based on (1) TIME (as we understand it) and (2) observable information left by God’s general revelation. We are now using TIME (as we know it and measure it) that ITSELF was ALSO in the process of being created (along with space, matter and energy) during those six Yom. PLEASE stop using the Bible to determine the “age of the earth.” That’s why God gave us General Revelation.

    • @Terrylb285

How long are the days (Yom) in genesis Is an interpretation debate. How old the is the universe is a science debate. You are correct, God Creates the Universe ( all physical matter). Then when the earth reaches it stage as a ball of water genesis 1:2 starts.

It's like this: {The notion that there's a gap between Genesis 1:1 & 1:2} is ONE thing. {The notion of what happened therein that hypothetical gap}*... is superficial to the first thing and with potentially infinite variations. Thus: every single narrative in regards to the latter could be erroneous; yet the primary premise of a gap in general... could still be accurate. The conflation of those two things being presented as scientific thought... is frankly laughable to me. It's like discounting the idea wheels are round... because someone thought the wheels were donuts; which wouldn't work. *hence "there's a bunch of different theories" Yes. There is. Isaiah 53 is not about Jesus ,nor it's about Israel. Both rabbinical and christian interpretations are wrong. It's about the tribe of Levite personified in their forefather Levi as a righteous servant of the Lord. "He had no beauty no majesty", that's not about Jesus it's about the tribe of Levites coming out of the desert like a dry shoot ,nothing special about them ,and yet Lord chose them to the be priesthood also a sacrifice for Israel. That's why it says that he should see his offspring, in other words the tribe of Levites will be back again to their glory. In numbers we see the tribe of levites were chosen to be a sacrifice for every first born of Israel .Of course it wasn't a human sacrifice, but the Lord would bring judgment on them when Israel backslided. Also Levites were persecuted by their people after their turned to foreign gods. That's why it says he was despised and rejected, because the tribe of Levites were pushed out by Jeroboam from the rest of the tribes when Israel was devided. And they became despised and hated, because they didn't even receive inheritance, so they became wanderers, rejected. But they didn't understand that this was God's way of sacrificing Levites fo the sake of Israel. That's why it says " Yet who of his generation protested?". In other words nobody from Levites protested they accepted their fate

Whole lot of mental gymnastics you might just win the gold medal for coping. Where were the Levites killed? Where were they “pierced”, are they buried with the wicked? “He poured out his life even to death”, sure sounds like we’re talking about 1 man here and not a group of people. It’s not even logical to think it’s more than one person as a whole.

Prior to Isaiah 53 it talks about the exact same Messiah having a weird face and looking slightly disfigured. I also don't see why the Messiah would die for our sins and then nothing would happen. When the Messiah comes Jewish tradition teaches that the dead will be resurrected and there will be no evil. None of that has happened.

Jesus died for our sins and was resurrected in 3 days. Let me explain this, the atonement of sins were carried through sacrifices, a blood offering used to cover the multitude of sins. But no offering can completely cover the sin of man because no offering is perfect especially since sin entered the world and God cursed creation in Genesis. So God, in His plan to redeem man completely, came down in the form of Jesus. Jesus (his name means, The Lord's Salvation and Emmanuel is God is with Us) is the Word, also present in Creation. Jesus is both God and Man. God is the Messiah. He completed His own Convenant with Abraham and Israel. Only God is pure enough to be sacrifice to cover our sins. Only He can defeat death and evil and bridge us back to Him. When Jesus died, we no longer need to sacrifice to cover our sins, we only need to believe in Him so we can be brought back to God. Jesus is our intercessor. Through His life here on Earth, God truly knew the plight of man for He has also lived as one. Hades no power over us, nor Death.

This video doesn't address why the debate between new and old is important or how it "affects" them. It's only important if we assume God has no hand in it... an analogy, or metaphor can be used to describe an actual historical event. They're not mutually exclusive things.

Science over religion each and every time. That said, religion played its role in human history by being an artifice towards modern civility and civilization. Religion served as the law in a time of lawlessness. We had to walk before we could run and we needed to get things wrong before could get things right.

The universe is old, there is no "old versus young" argument. There is simply no possible response to the "red shift" observations and "the supernova standard candle" measurements and all attempts to counter them are suitable only for teaching in mental asylums. Yes, there is a problem with the fact the universe is old. Genesis is the word of god therefore the simple fact is, if god is wrong, then it doesn't exist. It was wrong therefore it doesn't exist. You can't just dismiss Genesis as allegory or simplified for the education standards of the current people, it is an absurd position that the creator of all things would use or be required to use allegory and it would also be absurd to believe a creator of all things couldn't dumb down the truth (I can and have re-written Genesis creation in one paragraph fitting today's model of the universe, able to be understood by someone 3,000 years ago following a challenge by a theist). What remains is theists today are so monumentally stupid they believe they can dismiss Genesis without killing off Jesus' father, News Flash: They can't. Genesis was the introduction of the god of Abraham concept to the general public, if Moses was lying or using allegory, then Moses was a liar, unreliable source of information or offered no sustainable truth of the god and the introduction of the god of Abraham would be false creating a false belief system. That creates a fatal situation: Accepting Genesis as true proves the god of Abraham is false because it's creation model didn't happen according to observed science. If Genesis is declared false or allegory, Jesus doesn't have a father. It's something theists ignore or habitually lie about, because they must.

Please explain why you made no mention of the fact that the earliest complete manuscript of any NT book was from the third century CE, while the earliest complete NT was from the 4th century CE. Less than a dozen of those 'manuscripts' are from within a century of the writing, and they comprise roughly 2 pages of text - they are tiny scraps. Finally, the manuscripts contain so many differences and variations that it is impossible to be certain what the original writers actually wrote.
