Atlas II looks awful, but dang it will have to buy because of the Orion.

What I did not see in the kickstarter was mercenary force packs that came after 2020.

Like the idea of a prepaint. Especially one with decals and the whole nine yards. For someone who doesn't have time to hardcore the hobby its certainly an incentive

I was there with my wife all weekend, didnt have a chance to play but spent some time with Rusty. We were there as vendors selling miniatures. Battletech has always been my first love in table top wargaming, been enjoying it since Battledroids 40 years ago :) im based in houston, would be grand to meet someday!

If you want mechs to be the stars, then build your lists that way. The last thing I want is for vehicle to have 2 systems of how to play them in classic with power discrepancy where one is a cardboard cutout compared to the detailed rules mechs get. Mechs already have things stacked in their favor without the mobility crytical system vehicles have and how they can never lose something like torso twist to a critical. Plus, vehicles don't survive, losing a section like mechs can.

I won't support anything from this company because of all the battle tech game manuals they keep putting out that are gay/trans..I'd rather 3d print my own mechs..

Hope it arrives without any more issues. Paid so much for shipping. Won't be doing another Kickstarter for them. I'll just wait for product in stores and not deal with this hassle.

I dont think the prepainted models will annoy me.. just strip and repaint or paint over it if i dont like it..I like the new mechs being used an i think moving forward is good.. though I would prefer going back in time and adding more industrial mechs, i know thats not where most want to go and that it cant be a longerm direction.

Zero interest in a prepainted mini. It's not a bad paintjob and I still might get it (just because you can never have too many Orions), but it's going straight in the Dettol bath.

I picked up this pack a while ago, with the plan to have them as show pieces in their respective faction colors. But as far as actually using them, the Gladiator sees a lot of availability among mercenaries, and the Firebee and Battleaxe saw new variants still in use in the IlClan era, while the Coyotl never really went away. My favorite is the Icarus II: a few banged up models limp out of the Succession Wars long after their factory got levelled, and it slips in nicely to a 3025 unit with a couple neat 3151 versions.

Dire Wolf has the cowl

The BMM is great for those who want to go beyond GOAC, but Total Warfare looks terrifying. I know i started out thinking, why would i need anything but mechs? But i did eventually branch out to total warfare and am psyched for all the vehicles coming out.

The Quickstart Rules are great for introducing people. Starting off eith the full ruleset will just alienate new players. Put them on the QS rules for a few games and they will have a blast and then will want the more advanced normal rules.

I totally agree with what you said about complexity of later eras. Classic is hard enough without all the special rules. Some things could have been simpler. For example, with hardened armor, why not just have 2x as many circles, and have improved lasers do 2x the number of circles on the armor? That way you only need the special rule with the improved laser instead of anytime anyone attacks the "hardened armor" mech. Things could have been more carefully implemented to create rule parity instead of bloat. As it is, Alphastrike almost became necessary because without it dark age and ilclan are almost unplayable.

Alphastrike does split me down the middle. I am either playing with my kids, nieces or nephews, so classic is a bit long (only quickstart is viable). They like Alphastrike better so we normally do that. I do think that as they get older the narrative battles of classic may become more appealing... In Alphastrike, mechs just seem so... samey.

I just hope we get Force Manuals for smaller InnerSphere states like FRR ( later Ghost Bear Dominion then Rasalhague Dominion in the end ) and periphery states like Aurigan Coalition introduced in Battletech the pc game. Yeah I love the "underdogs" I know the FRR used a mix of mechs from D.C and Lyrans but would be great to have a official CLEAR sum up of what they used, FRR history, paint schemes, culture.. the whole package. Wishes from a pre-space Scandinavian. Skål! 🍺

we held a small tournament in Tyler Texas. we had 11 participants to claim the 'Golden Urbie'. each player could select any mechs of their choosing pre-3049. no clan tech. they had to include one from each weight class (lt, med, hvy, asslt). it was double elimination, so each participant had a minimum of 2 matches. each round, the players would select a single mech that had not been previously used. upon initiative, each player would move onto a single standard hex map. all the participants had a great time, to include several new players. prizes included; the Golden Urbie trophy, silver Urbie trophy, the crushed bronze Urbie trophy, gift certificates to the store, a Grey Death Legion box and a high quality paint brush. we are looking to have a similar event in April or May.

I'm still irritated about that pre-painted Orion. It's not Kerensky's mech. They identify it as Kerensky's, but it's not outfitted right. Kerensky's replaces the AC/10 with a gauss rifle and the LRM-15 with a snub nose PPC.

A few corrections. Its Victor Steiner-Davion's Dire Wolf (Prometheus). Hanse was his father, he piloted a Battlemaster. The Hammerhead in the Striker Star is a Hammerhead 2 this was specifically mentioned. Also to note, that was not a Chinese prepainted, that was panted up by one of Randall N Bills friends so not really telling us anything about how good/bad the prepaints are actually going to be. Personally I think the prepainted was a silly idea they should not have acted on. The people who wants prepainted would want more the one, so why not give them a whole pack of say IS Command Lance that's painted then see if there is an actual demand for prepainted minis.

What version of the Kintaro will we be getting a mini of? I want the Kintaro-20 used by the Combine and Comstar or at least the Succession Wars era Kintaro-18 used by the Federated Suns. I really don't want a mini of the NARC equipped Kintaro fielded by the SLDF.

Im all for a clan jade falcon themed pack, maybe one or two classics, but theres alot post clan invasion like gyrfalcon and shrike that id love to see and play with

I kinda wish they would have gone with the house boxes they mentioned a while back. Instead we get these Star League Boxes with a single painted mini for a price mark up. It just feels.... Bad.

I consider myself newer to Battletech. It’s been about a year but I’ve only bought and painted mechs and played a handful of times. The fluff books scream yes please because the rulebook is “yeah just do what you want” and while most of my models are painted off basic vanilla military color schemes it will be cool to see some expected or normal stuff for creating thematic events. I’m also excited for the ilClan stuff because it’s an easy starting point for reading. I’ve read just Redemption Rites and look forward to reading more

Get a 3D printer, and make your own. Don't give those Marxist hacks your money. Worst case scenario, look into the second-hand market or the "Second hand" market.
