I hope this channel finds you well, and leaves you better. The old code of the west: "Leave things better than you found them..." - My Father.
This channel needed a change. I am rededicating this channel to the success of individuals. I am a Montana Born, Father, Husband, and Man of Faith. If I can help give you a little help on any topic or show you some work, then great. If you need some help on any topic, then reach out. If just getting some cathartic relaxation from watching me bang some steel or make a cool blade then great. If on the other hand, you need some advice on your business or some direction or goals, then let me know.
Our Website is still in Beta, and I am not a professional Web designer, so take it for best efforts!

@@TBWblades thanks man!
Love the knife but cam we stop calling it damascus😅 its not. It was a specific kind of ore from Italy, i believe in ancient times that had unique qualities. We are just replicating the pattern foun on many surviving blades. Please. Its so fucking retarded
That looks sick!
@@MrMontanaPilot hey thanks man!

how do you like that sanding jig? have you used it on a any other blades yet?
Bob this Grinding Jig is how I got started. I had to use it this time on a long flat blade to thin the blade width of the integral bolster
Since this is being debated: the Little Giant Trip Hammer was invented in 1895. Although Oxyacetylene was invented in 1903 and his cousin invented arc welding a few years earlier, it took time for the invention to expand to the factories in the united states. In the 1920s Oxy-welding was growing and by 1927 Arc welding was created manufacturing that would reduce the cost of coating the electrodes for cost use of welding. All that being said, the big machines like the Little Giants were king, and the the belt driven shop systems were in place in many areas and states well into the 40s. Hence the reason for the title. Keep in mind that although Modern welding has been around for 115 years-ish; Common use forge welding has been used since the iron age. Boom!
That shot never gets old! The slow motion and seeing the impact is amazing
@@solarstorm50 thanks Bob!
They definitely didnt have that machine 120 years ago

@@TBWblades lol yessir, it shakes my house that is detached from garage.
Thats more a dagger itself then a letter opener in my opinion. Great work tho none the less did you use rebar?
No, the blade is 15N20 and 1084. The railroad spike is real, but I melted copper over the top to plate the steel.
Looks great 👍🏼 👌🏼 🎉
@@TheSevenboy127 thanks man!

@@kevinmahaley4916 yeah, it would have been great to squeezed out a knife, but there are infractions in the end cuts of Damascus so I couldn’t sell it to someone as a knife knowing that
It’s a pretty cool knife 😊
@@Ripping_That_0425 thanks cuz, it’s just a letter opener because there was an infraction in the end cut Damascus but it’s a great letter opener
I wonder could you hold the stamp better with a pair of tongs or adding a handle to the stamp so you can see it better while stamping (I suck at stamping too, thats why I typically etch)
Bob your absolutely right. I am just scared about scratching my new expensive stamp hahah. Do the sell brass tongs?
That is so sick!! This might be a silly question but when you weld the steel together does that introduce some mild steel into the mix?
Maybe. Most probably comes off as slag
Hey man, great question! With TIG welding and no added rod, you are simply melting the metals that are currently present. Would be the same if I had patience for oxyacetylene welding on a bullet for historical value.
There is a lot of slag that comes of these billets, but no added material in TIG weld with no rod
@@samdahlandsonsforge Ahh gotcha I see now, thanks for the response!
@@maximusfriend3924 You bet man, anytime.

@@samdahlandsonsforge Yee
I always laugh when folks say they’re making Damascus steel when they’re not… the true recipe to making it has not been figured out yet still.. just because you layer some steel and make it look like it doesn’t make it Damascus steel
@@REEFERKID honestly man, you are correct in some ways and wrong in others. This guy will explain it to you. ua-cam.com/video/V_TZTX4QBZU/v-deo.htmlsi=RVCawvfUIFN2_rKv . If YOU are making wootz and alternative time period steel combination in a crucible forge, then feel free to criticize me. But in the case that you are not I recommend reading a few extra books and understanding the history of steel. Yes, there is still myths on what exactly the steel was. But since that steel of period is too rare to test against modern Damascus, you have no proof that it is vastly different nor that it will outperform modern steels. Additionally this is layered and patterned art. If you are thinking I am arguing Damascus is a super steel; then I promise I am not.

Oh dude me too!
Never even heard of Most of these. Then again, I am just a simple minded, White skinned Kangaroo ridin Black fcker from down Under. The Reaper is easily as good as the Gibson. I have Both and to be completely Honest an Unbiased about it, the Reaper is just that little step in front overall, as the space it takes up is Ridiculously Small compared to the Majority of Industrial Level 2x72's. Bearings are top of the line, tracking is Fault less, power and duty cycle under load identical ( same Motor ), what sets the Reaper apart from my Gibson and Most others I know of is the tiny footprint. I also have a Vevor but it is really Only any good utilizing the Huge Contact Wheel. Tracking is rotten and the mechanism for adjustment of such is tacked together by a 10 yr old. The Frame of the Vevor is rock solid and overbuilt but they let it down majorly with the tracking mech, the platten, the bearings, the small wheel setup etc etc etc. All that being said, Opinions are like Arseholes, everyones gottem and Most of them Stink like Shit! LoL
