I'm still alive! CUSTOMS, DIORAMAS, TUTORIALS

We are talking CUSTOMS (action figures), making DIORAMAS, future TUTORIALS, and talking about some opportunities I recently received. FIGURES: This custom figure is one I have been wanting to make for a while and finally pushed myself to paint it, weather it, and sew some soft goods. DIORAMA: The diorama is one that I'm still working on, but thought it would be cool to share the process up to w...
Hiya Toys Rambo Action Figure Review

Rambo is a legend! Having a Rambo action figure wasn't something I thought I wanted, but he's awesome! I'm not sure what other companies make Rambo action figures, but Hiya Toys did a great job with this one. He's based on the first movie, First Blood, and I think they are already making more versions. Check out this review and let me know what you think of the figure! Are you a fan of Rambo? W...
How to make little toys look BIG: Toy Photography inspired by Gambit

Let's learn how to make little toys look big! I wish I had the giant HasLab Sentinel, but for now, this little Sentinel will do. Episode 5 from X-Men 97 was so epic and definitely gave me a lot of inspiration. This was going to be a shorter setup video, but I got a lot of people commenting they liked what I did with the scaling of the little toy and enlarging it by using my tv/digital backgroun...

BEST ADHESIVE TIP IVE EVER LEARNED... (DO YOUR HOMEWORK ON THIS PROCESS BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT) SUPER GLUE + BAKING SODA LOOK UP ADAM SAVAGE FROM MYTHBUSTERS....💯 He would be the best source to learn about this technique
if you use magnets.... use neodymium magnets that come in all strengths and sizes...but beware....you may need to use some serious adhesive cause them magnets will rip straight out of the figure.... tip: hot glue the magnets....then pull them out...then superglue them back in....
at walmart they have some really good brush kits.... the ones im talking about is the brush heads are white...and the handle is blue. they are about $20+ there's like 20+ sizes and types of brushes....and they are the best brushes ive used
tip: THIS TAKES SOME WORK...BUT IT'S WORTH IT..💯 💯 💯 There are these doll ball joints called JETON ball joints... they are plastic ball joints people use for dolls or stuffed animals to create articulation. they are white, they come in every possible size you would need...and you may have to custom work them by cutting or shaping certain parts of them....but THEY ARE UNQUESTIONABLY THE BEST BALL JOINTS EVER MADE TO USE WITH ACTION FIGURES...💯 THEY ARE VERY STRONG...some take special pliers to detatch or attach them.... but if you use enough creative ingenuity to modify them and get them bonded to your action figures.....THEY ARE THE BEST BALL JOINTS IN THE WORLD!!!! THEY will never wear down....they will be lose enough to articulate ANYTHING NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL ACTION FIGURES....and they will never pop out no matter how much your kid plays with them....💯 you'll never need to replace them. i wish every action figure in the world would have these as standard bone stalk ball joints.... they are smooth, they can handle ANY amount of weight, they are fantastic....💯 they may be a pain to modify or bond onto a figure...but once you do it correctly....they are worth the work....💯 anyone who's not familiar...check them out.... www.amazon.com/OLYCRAFT-Skeleton-Adjustable-Flexible-Connectors/dp/B0BR9R8ZMB/ref=asc_df_B0BR9R8ZMB/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693381012409&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14155006171500050552&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011497&hvtargid=pla-2188267600205&psc=1&mcid=9226db08273d3d7ca4dfa2a54d271c18&gad_source=1 just make sure you use the correct size for the scale of figure you want to add them to
no matter what.....ALWAYS CLEAR COAT YOUR PAINTED FIGURES (no paint in the world will not flake off or chip off or rub off) don't EVER use spray can clear coat....it will ruin and eat your plastic figure like it was acid....use brush on clear coat
tips: lego technic, bionicle is great ways to completely replace connection systems (ball joints/peg connections, especially the cross pegs that look like a plus sign...along with the female end of the plug) can create amazing and sturdy "peg and hole" systems that will stay in place very well.
It's always so interesting to see the thought process and what went into the shot. I love what you did here in PS, but it's the base shot that really sells the final product. I use PS a lot too, but If the base photo is great, than everything just falls in place a lot easier. PS is just the cherry and sprinkles! Fantastic video as always Matt!
Would spray paint work for painting the figure? I want to make an omni man custom and my plan is to spray the whole body white and then hand-paint on the red parts
It make me laugh when people said is a decent figure lol is the best we have ,better than trezero ,better than Neca , the only one is the Rambo from Slyshop
Yeah, I’m not too familiar with other Rambo figures. Haven’t seen people post much about them.
The best Rambo series Hiya toys they make my Dream come true I got all 3 already , Plus two of the first blood ,now I need to get me two more of the part two and Rambo 3 ,best action hero ever
Nice! Are the other figures out from the other movies?? I’ve seen them but wasn’t sure if they were released. They look awesome
🔥
🙏🏼🔥
Just watched this video Matt, great work. I don't have Photoshop but do have GIMP so will give this a go. I have a Yolopark Optimus Prime figure where I struggled to get a decent light glow so will try this effect
Nice! That’s awesome. Let me know how it goes. I have tried GIMP before but it’s been a while. And thank you!
Wow
Thanks!
I love it
Thanks so much!
W fig mid poses
Haha I’ll take mid 😂 I was just excited to finally get him
That’s really cool!
Thanks so much!
Coolest thing I ever saw
Ayy that’s awesome! Thank you
Cool, now can you give us a tutorial video on what you used and how you did it. Thanks from everybody amazed at this video.
Haha!! Since you asked, I will do it 🙌🏼 thanks so much too :)
IS THAT THE GUY FROM FORTNITE
He’s coming!!!! Hahaha
Great review brother. I got one coming and can’t wait. That sucks yours is missing the clip for the M-16. I’m really looking forward to getting the M-60. I have a couple from gridiron studios, a flimsy one that came with the classified rock & roll, and hoping this will be the best one out the group. I wish Valaverse would make a M-60 for Action Force. I’m really impressed with how his neck moves. That’s next level articulation. Thanks for sharing and have a good day sir.
Yo thanks so much! And that’s cool, the M-60 is awesome. I really need to get some Action Force figures. They look good.
@@amusingking yes sir. There great. They are my favorite line to collect. I have more black series figures than anything but Action Force is second most. All the figures are easy to swap out with each other so there great for kitbashing or making a different figure all together. I heat them up with hot water before I take them apart so i don’t break them but that goes with all figures. I use Action Force weapons with all my Classified figures since what you get with them is unacceptable. I can’t wait to get Rambo though. He should be here tomorrow.
Dopeeeeeeee
Thanks dude! 🙌🏼
❤I like this a lot and I might sound dumb but whats that snake-like thing on the right supposed to be? 😅
Lol!!! Not dumb at all. I was close to removing it when editing. It was supposed to be a metal pipe or something 😂😂. And thanks!! 🙏🏼
@@amusingking🤣👍
NIIICE photo as usual Matt! PEACE from ATL ✊🏾 📸
Yo much appreciated!🙌🏼
Yoo this song is a throwback 😮💨 also that photography is AWESOME‼️‼️
Dude it is!!! I wasn’t really posting stuff when it was hot, so felt cool to finally use it 😂 and thanks so much!
Awesomeness
Hey!! Thank you :)
An army of them couldn’t lmao prob gonna need the entire rebellion and then some
Haha yeah! I saw a random video of Vader vs a million zombies and he won 😂😂 I’m sure most of the basic rebels were better than zombies though
@@amusingking Interesting and probably yeah but Vader was surrounded by an entire army of rebels and he killed them all
@@eliminator1472 yeah, he’s a beast 🔥
I have non of those :/
Good thing I didn’t say anything specific. Just a little effort with posing and use sunlight.
💙
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Where do you get the diorama bace from?
I made this one. I have a video of how I put it together. It’s labeled as a snow diorama because at the end I put baking soda, but dumped it off now and have this base.
I love this custom dude great job!
Thanks so much!🔥
Epic
Thanks🙌🏼
Amazing. Thanks for the video
You’re welcome! Glad you liked it🙌🏼
Seeing all the behind-the-scenes work done makes the picture that much cooler
You’re a beast! Appreciate you bro🔥
I like the sirdork challenge reference
Ayy haha which one? I haven’t done a challenge of his recently
@@amusingking there’s always a bigger fish
🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿 is all i can say about this
Yoooo you are the emoji!!! Haha that’s epic 🗿🗿🗿
🗿
ok there probably isn't a right answer for this but, I have 3 small cube lights and one large panel light as my key light, do you think one panel light is enough?
It could be enough. But having multiple lights can allow you have more control of your light. Certain lights can be point at certain parts of your shot instead of one big light lighting everything. Like you said, it's not right or wrong because it depends on what you're going for.
Nice video, its great to see you getting things out there, Im trying to do that more myself... if you need any help with 3d printers let me know I've been using both Resin and FDM printers for a while now, since 2015... Keep it up and take your time, I feel like I always try to rush to get content out and then it suffers for it, so just run at your own pace and keep moving Ford on your journey. Looking forward to it :)
Thank you! And that’s awesome!! I definitely will be asking questions when the time comes haha. One question that might not make sense but is there anything I can do before having a printer to “prepare” or make it easier? I guess I’m thinking 3D apps. Not sure how much I want to actually design or just print.
@@amusingking As far as preparing for a 3D printer, the. physical aspect is just research what you will need to get it going and the required safety precautions. as far as software goes I find designing fun, however it is very time consuming and can take up a lot of your time... I use fusion 360 for most of my mechanical design work, but I started using plasticity and I really like it... it has a very low cost of entry for parametric modeling software, it also has 30 day trail so try before you buy. I am also using Blender, it is an amazing piece of software but really need plugins to make it really great so expect to spend a little cash for that too but not too much its fairly inexpensive I dare say even cheap cost of entry. for slicer, the software that you use to convert 3d files to gcode printer language I use Lychee its about 60.00 / year for a license to use it and then there is orca slicer as well, but that more for FDM only, if you go resin the lychee is in my opinion but there is also chitubox which is free. I also forgot to mention iPad and android tablet apps but nomad sculpt is truly amazing and I use it a lot, Ill start a design on my iPad while on the couch relaxing and then finish it in blender. you can contact me through my instagram @plasticarcade if you have any specific questions you want answered as this could go for a while. but hopefully this helps.
Haha! Dang! What a beast reply!! Really appreciate it. Will definitely message you on Instagram.
I just slap on some clay than I bring it to my sister because she is good and she's currently in art school
Dang!! That’s awesome! What are some things for figures that you’ve had her make?
@@amusingking ive had her make a zoro from one piece
Sweet!
I ordered this thing yesterday as well as gear 5 luffy, they both look great and im hype for them to get here.
Sweet! Have you seen the newer sage mode Naruto coming out? That one looks so good too🔥

I really gotta start bouncing my light more, I think my light is too harsh all the time
Yeah! It definitely can provide some really nice lighting and worth trying.
I got mine last week, I'm still trying to find the best way to use it, but so far it definitely adds to the photos
Sweet! I'm still loving mine a ton
Can’t wait to see what you have coming up! Really like your Rex photos too!
Thanks so much, Kelly! Means a lot!
Thank you for making this! It's super helpful to see the entire process start to finish. And the wires clamped to the stage was a real "ah-hah" moment for me. Inspires me to experiment more with this style of photography.
Haha! Nice! Getting "ah-hah" moments are the best! It's definitely worth trying out. Glad you like this style and enjoyed the process. I need to do a new one like this soon.
Anything on finding or making patterns at these scales? Been trying to make camo pants but can’t find anything at the scale
Do you mean like painting patterns? Painting on camo? Or patterns for sewing? For painting, I'm not sure. I've seen some people do camo before but haven't look into the process. I will definitely look into and let you know if I learn anything.
@@amusingking meant more if you’ve seen fabric with the pattern at 1/6 or 1/12 scale but any tips for any route would be good
Oh gotcha! Yeah, I haven't found a good one yet. Would be cool to have.
Can you do a video on how to make clothes for your figures?? Like cloaks, kamas, etc. I’m super intrigued on the hobby but I’m scared to get into it fully.
Yes! For sure will do that. After making this suit, I feel way more confident with sewing and making templates. So it's on the to do list!
Good to see you back mate, glad everyone is on the mend. Loving the custom figure, really looking forward to seeing how the dio works out. Excited to hear what's coming up too. Keep inspiring mate 👍👍
Thank you Paul! You're one of the best and I appreciate everything! 🙏🏼
Excited to see all of that mate! The 3D printing is something I haven’t dipped my finger into before, so I’d love to see how you go with that! Again love the Rex, love the video format, look forward to the next one! Oh, hope the family stays healthy!
Thanks so much! And yeah, I love the idea of 3D printing but also a bit scared haha. Hopefully will be something to try sooner rather than later. Glad you like the video; really appreciate it!

Thank you!
Glad you're all feeling better. cool video, can't wait to see what you got coming in the future .
Thanks Brian! Really appreciate you!
