Brud Petty Timmy thank God
I have been for ever talking about Brud Petty and how good he was. I came across this recording of Brud at the “Blast from the Past in 1994”. Here he is in full flight and just listen to the reaction from the audience. Also please listen to the interview beforehand as he talked about going to the bog with Micilín Conlon and bringing their two instruments which were the Accordion and Tin whistle. This would have been around 1944. They were only allowed to play in a few places at the time and just got a couple of coppers for playing.

Storyteller Brud Petty lived a lovely peaceful life just 1 mile from Doolin. He had an open house and all kinds of celebrities called to see him. He had spontaneous wit and spent life entertaining people in Doolin and Lisdoonvarna and was loved by everyone.

Musicians: Michael Mahoney, Peadar Crotty, Pete Haugh and Johnny Hehir. Dancing : Paddy Neylon and Willie Keane. Michael Mahoney, Peadar Crotty, Pete Haugh and Willie Keane were all wonderful characters. They gave so much enjoyment to so many and have gone to their eternal rest.

Recorded at the “Blast from the past” concert in the West County 1994. Michael Mahoney (McMahon) singer, flute player and set dancer. For more than a quarter of a century, he was part of the Thursday night traditional music sessions at Cleary's Pub Miltown Malbay. His was a brother of Paddy McMahon (Mahoney) one of the greats of Clare football. Michael sadly passed away in 2009 RIP

Grainne Marrinan Fennell is a teacher who loves to sing and has a range of traditional songs. Here she is singing Erin Grá Mo Chroí at our St Bridget’s night gatherings. Every year we welcomed a gang from west Clare and looking back now they were the days.

Brud was a bachelor and lived a lovely peaceful and easy going life just 1 mile from Doolin. We spent our young days visiting Brud and he would entertain us until the early hours of the morning. May he rest in peace

Seamus O'Donnell, Currakyle, Caher, Co.Clare. A great entertainer and character we were very honoured that he came to many of our sessions until he sadly passed away in 2012

Micheál Marrinan singer ,song writer and musician lives in Dungarven ,Co Waterford. Brought up in Co Cork but has very strong Ennistymon connections and is a frequent visitor to Co. Clare. He has written a number of popular songs that we regularly hear at our singing sessions including “Between Miltown and sweet Ennistymon”, “The Island of Australia” & “Ballad of Binder Twine”.

Fantistic love to get the words
Brud had many recitations of different lengths and degrees of humor. I remember once we travelled to Wicklow from Clare, to attend his Aunt Lil funeral. He began a recitation 'Drunken Tady and the Bishops lady" in Tulla and he was still reciting as we were travelling the Nass Dual Carriageway. (Three-hour drive back then)
