Hello GreyCat, I too have an Alpha Jet (still in the box) and I have concluded (before build) that it's going to have low speed stall-flight characteristics which will make for near impossible dead-stick recovery at low altitude. I think with that anhedral setup; it will tendency to drop a wing and/or invert last second (I have only watched the first minute of your video so far) and unless you wish to land inverted, or be graced with high enough altitude to build up speed, you're going to crater it! My solution to this problem (and it may not be enough to circumvent the foregoing) is to cut a notch in the engine nacelles so as to allow the flaps to drop much more. The original design used "fowler flaps" which allowed the flaps to move out away from the wing at much greater efficiency while maintaining clearance from the nacelles, X-Fly did not incorporate that into their model design and it makes for rather iffy landings at slow speed! The anhedral wing makes this an outstanding fighter design because it causes the aircraft to encompass instability as an asset; however, a designer needs to add stability to the landing scenario for obvious reasons. I would say the true fix for this design would be to add fowler flaps, but getting them down to increase lift on a slower landing, hence using less stab control, will be the only solution I can see for the time being. Perhaps one day I will rip the flaps out and install a fowler mechanism in there to enhance landing characteristics, but until that day, digging into the nacelles to lower flaps more may have to be the solution! You might want to reconsider investing in a new model and trying out my idea before giving up on this design altogether GreyCat; the fact that you already have 12 flights on this bird shows that your flying skills are darn good Sir! Your call of course; peace and harmony to you Sir!
