Deshalb ist der Longline der wichtigster Schlag

    It seems that somehow the notion has become accepted in squash courts around the world that the two dot is the only "real" squash ball. Bollocks! There's a reason there's a "pro" ball and a "competition" ball. Everyone is used to playing with a moderately warm two dot and thinking that's what squash is like. It's not! Squash is better when the ball is flying around the court. It's more fun, it's better for your skills, it's a better workout. If you're a club player: get yourself some single dots!

    You will not improve your speed by doing these exercises. You might improve your strength a little. You will improve speed by developing single leg stability and power.

      @@captainzork6109 To an extent, but chris is right - these are not power/explosiveness exercises as the viedo suggests. You will develop better muscles endurance (your will get them tired later) and some strength (more strength if you add weight)

      Two years later: have you been playing with a single dot ball? I'm a 4.5 player and I've recently made a commitment to only playing with single dots. For the reason that at my level, we don't hit the ball as hard and for long enough rallies to get the ball as hot as the pros do, so if we want to play with a ball that bounces like the pros do, a little extra bounce is needed. That's exactly what the single dot is for. And let me tell you, it's just more fun! The rallies are longer, it's a better workout, you have to be more precise with your drop shots, it's just a better game all around. I'm all in

    • @grayjohn6332
      @grayjohn6332 Рік тому

      @@bproshek I still play with a double yellow dot, my friends and can hit the vey hard and with accuracy. the ball does get hot. I often play 3 on a court and the ball is pinging around everywhere. Although I did train yesterday with a single yellow spot ball because the player I was training with plays first division and is often playing on warmer courts than ours and is finding the the difference in court warmth making his shots inaccurate (boasts are coming out and his length is poor). You have to be fitter to play with a double yellow spot ball; Movement has to be better. It is easier to play with a single spot. Squash is meant to be fun above all else. If you are having fun that is the way to go.

    • @bproshek
      @bproshek Рік тому

      @@grayjohn6332 the difference between a single and double yellow dot is pretty equivalent to the difference between a cold vs. a warm court, I think. I insist on a single dot if the courts are cold I actually think that you have to be fitter to play with a single dot. The rallies are longer! If you're not as fit as your opponent, your opponent will wear you down even if your movement is better.
