Company Gave Me Wrong Directions | Life Of A Trucker | Sunny Florida
I was heading into sunny Florida making a delivery in Tampa, FL. I sadly trusted my company's gps and it took me into the wrong building. Eventually, i found the new building for the shipper and right next to it was a Starbucks. Of course, I had to jump out of the truck after getting trailer into the door. Walking across the street for that sweet oatmilk latte. Please enjoy and Subscribe. Thank you :)

This load was a little tricky with a snowstorm developing in Denver, CO. I picked up a load in Denver during the snowstorm but I 25 and I 70 were closed due to icy conditions. I made a last-minute decision to go around by taking I 80 heading to I 15 leading to the drop off in Riverside, CA. This worked out perfectly then end up getting a load back to Denver. By then, the Storm was finished and ...

I just came back from my Europe trip for two weeks and it was amazing. I was working with the company to get me back into a truck from my home base in Virginia. The offer they gave me was to pick up a recovery truck in West Virginia. In return, I would get a new 2025 Freightliner from the PA terminal. God help me because the recovery truck was nasty. Not All people in WV are drug addicts or live like pigs Asshole! You need to harden up softcock.
Always remember where you coming from stop bad mouth swift they do a lot for you who else would take you with no experience show respect to swift
How you passed a CDL test, let alone ANY TEST ! is truly one of the most baffling mysteries on planet Earth happy Thanksgiving
It was easy, and I did it in a 10-speed manual semi 😆 I wonder sometimes how foreigners pass their cdl test and don't speak English...
👍Dinner is nice and healthy
Just part of the job, hurry up and wait, lol
Wow, now that sucks.
Keep on Trucking!!
Plug it and roll. Ha
They're taking too many smoke breaks.😅
Call the tire doctor. He’ll have it fixed in a jiffy
@@charliewisdom8885 I wish it was that easy 😆
I used to run a weekly contract where i would arrive around 6pm sleep until 4am and the shipper would have until then to load. I would wake up and get ready to leave sometimes and the dock plate would still be set and fork lifts in and out. Middle of the Winter too. Lots of fun.
@dgage1776 I've done that at this location, but this time appointment was in the morning. I'm just rejecting this place next time. Kroger and food lion suck... cap stone lumper company sucks. Lol
@longhauljohn4153 the lumper thing is wild. Never had to deal with it. Truck drivers should be allowed to hop on a forklift and lead their own trailer. Nobody cares about the load more than we do
trucking sucks.
Don't buy a truck. Yikes
Sometimes I sure but not all the time drive safe my friend
I wonder did they put abandonment on his DAC since you had to recover the truck for Crete
I was thinking the samething. Maybe 🤷♂️
@ probably got that on his DAC create ain’t going let him get away with that after having to send another driver to retrieve there truck but glad you was able to get the truck safely without a incident especially in the hills of West Virginia
How did you get the rental back to the agency??
@bigrockauto I just looked up the closest rental place and brought it back. The company did pay for my Uber back to the recovery truck.
Enterprise will take you back to your location depending on the distance most of the time
How do you like your new truck
@michaelwallace7192 I love new trucks. You can tell a big difference from a 300,000 mile truck to a 30-mile truck. Lol
Fellow Roanoke native. Went to CDS. What are your thoughts on TMC?
Nice hair cut also love the videos
Thank you 😁
I started at 51 cents a mile and the trucks are capped at 63 mph. Do the math. It might be okay if you had literally no other bills. Even still, way too low to live in a fucking truck
Welcome back Sir
I've googled european semis and there ain't no room in them whatsoever, it looks like 20 inch mattress in the back. No way i would drive over there.
After what I saw, truckers have it good here 😅
@longhauljohn4153 lol you're absolutely right 👍
Thank you for sharing ❤
You also out of Florida right?
No, out of Virginia.
10-4… I was wondering what the average miles per week and CPM?
2,500 to 3,000 a week at .62 cpm.
Hey John, How is Crete I’m thinking about coming over
Hi, they are a great company. Of course, no company is ever perfect, but I have more positive things to say than negative of crete.
I’m 23 years old sir , I got my eldt I just passed general knowledge and combinations I just have to re test air brakes then I’m good I’ve been at the dmv 10 times literally I really want this position im single and this will help me grow as a young man and better my future I can’t wait for my time to shine shoutout to all truckers im gonna do OTR
Gosh those big companies can’t even pay their drivers at least $1/mile,,,
So you’re saying I shouldn’t get my CDL with them?
I appreciate the insight. Does anyone have some insight on Windy Hill Foliage? That’s the company that I’m considering. I just got my Class A btw.
You recommend not going to the West Coast when it’s winter time or you mean East Coast
Dude! I'm a Former Swift Company Driver OTR 48 States the pay is sucks!!! The truck is so slow as hell that it can only drive at 62mph and you're not gonna get any mileage at all because it's all been pre programmed! for 10-1/2 hours of driving you'll only get 489 miles or 496miles. And I'm only getting .40cpm! The last freight that I hauled before I quit is from Jurupa Valley, CA Swift Terminal going to Omaha, NE 1,517miles x .40cpm = $606.40 that's the Net of The Paycheck that I got for a week. I ended up with that freight because some owner operator rejected it and my Driver Manager forced me to take the Load assignment even though I don't like it. Since that load have 4 stops each stops I have to wait for 6 hours to unload! Swift is a good company! But it is full of Greedy and Bad Managers that manages this Company.
Did my cdl time with swift and gtfo, they are the lowest paying job.
Biden gave them plenty of money for both storms. Why would you assume he wouldnt? Bye bye.
If you get into a different company how much can you expect to make net
As a bay area native yall for sure be exaggerated when it comes to oakland. Nobody is going to be worried about you. The city is a major shipping hud depending where you are at worst you might get a beggar asking for money no truck routes go through any real hoods nor should you be conducting any business near where its "dangerous". What im saying is trouble is easily avoidable in Oakland.
This MOFO said he’s gonna check out the Crack Heads! You actually had that on your vacation itinerary 😂
What countries you going to in Europe?
We're going to Barcelona, Spain and Venice, Italy. I'm leaving now to the plane. Lol
Enjoy and stay safe
What GPS do you use? I'm a new driver and looking for one.
Looks like Garmen
Yeah, I love it. The larger companies will give you a tablet with a truck navigation, but it's never 100%.
@@longhauljohn4153 My trainer pays for a cheap navigation through the Qualcomm… I told him he should get truckers path and pay for their navigation. It’s amazing and tells you of all the truck stops, rest areas, and more along your route. Can trip plan your whole trip through truckers path. Run that along with Garmen and you should have a stress-free ride, free of worry about low bridges and stuff like that
Be careful my friend enjoyed the ride have fun on your trip good luck to you
The leaf blower is smart
Good to see you are doing OK my friend Drive safe
It cost $2150 all in to get a CDL at a local school in Bakersfield, CA where I live. And they are hiring everywhere here for new drivers going local or OTR. Just have a clean record. Don't know how people being taken for a ride charging 11,000 dollars and a 1 or 2 year commitment with Swift. That's not a lot to save up for.
Most 3rd party trucking schools are poorly run. Train with a large carrier, NOT a “school”
Swift is not a bad company only problems is they let new driver's lose to early each new driver needs multiple mentors first
Don't forget orientation they make millions of of every week from our taxes for jobs by Democrits government
Great info! I’m subscribing!
1 year today 😅
Back in the day before the Elds my dad owned and operated a trucking company pulling selling and setting up and breaking down mobile homes and modular buildings for the government and fema disaster relief long story short he use to keep to log books in the truck so he could mark his actual miles then the second book was for dot which was a cooked book
Im scared, I want out of weed growing but 900$ a week for 30 hours home every night was the worst job i’ve had in the industry. As head grower I made 90k year 40-50 hrs week and that was after 50% pay cut to keep staff on. You can make these numbers at a lot of jobs and not commit so much time. My kids are young so for the first few years I wana see them more and am willing to make less but taking home a grand and not being there is not enticing. The country is whack when cost of living is a grand a week and other people are stoked on it. Goal is to owner operator a niche area after 5 or so years of learning the ropes but i’ll need min 60k a year for that period and I want min weekends off. Am I dreaming or what?
