Aquatic adventures at sea.
Shipping down from Boston - Yacht delivery of my Catalina 30 sailboat
Flat seas and a ton of motoring. Enjoy this 80 nautical mile motor sail in the Catalina 30 from Boston south. Sorry to the Kells Yacht community as I am no longer a member. I'll have to make an update video on the old boat for the eight other Kells 23 owners out there.

Launching the New Boat totally as planned

Launching my new to me 1978 Kells Coaster 23 with some help from friends. Learning along the way, because I never actually stepped the mast or saw the boat in the water. Support this channel by being kind to the sea.

Spent the weekend searching for keeper fluke in Connecticut. A rainy start made for rough fishing, but with some help I was able to get on some fish.

I only trust him for camera work
Steve Congratulations on your boat Quite the comedy team Finn and yourself are hilarious another great vide 👍.....and no i still haven't gotten my main halyard down yet we tried but no luck yet i will get the marina guys to do it 😂
hey thanks! Yeah, send the marina guy up there so you can get back on the water.
We all want the blooper reel!! Upvote this comment, give the people what they want!
It'll go too viral though
How about another fishing video!
Mostly retired these days, I'll see if I can find some great whites though.
We are both skilled fisherman it seems!
Some might call me an expert... I have to keep this video online so my nephew can laugh about it.
Are you getting girls on the boat, or will you be modeling swimwear yourself. Much love brother, hope your laughing!
Always laughing. Negative, I have been hitting the gym for my modeling though.
New sub here, I was looking for videos of sad boat captains. Success! 🤪
hey thanks! You will not be disappointed.
How many lbs thrust was that trolling motor?
62 lbs. Honestly it moved pretty good in flat seas. Any sort of current would be a bit sketchy though.
Since you're wondering, I found you because I'm scraping the internet for any Kells 23 content. Not many of us out there :p. I have a 1976 Kells 23 with a Swing Keel, and it's great to just see how someone else is using theirs and has it rigged.
Yeah, not much info out there. Pretty sure I'm the first hit on a google search at this point.
hey i live in portugal and i recently started getting a lot into sailing and found your channel a few days ago, really liked the videos! good luck
hey, thank you! Enjoy the sailing.
Glad you're back ⛵🎉
Very nice boat ! Im a very beginner sailor with zero experience my main halierd line is currently at the top of my mast and i cant get it down but i will climb the mast if i have too i have a tanzer 7.5 24 footer
Thanks! I'm still a rookie too. Everyone eventually loses a halyard at the top of the mast, but the Tanzer is a nice boat.
Wow that was a little on the wild side again Great video Your friend with a very contagious laugh 😂😂😂
Great video Steve 👍
Absolutely hilarious video Awesome sailboat
Big things coming! Can’t wait to see what’s next! Sail on my friend
Captain, it will be an honor to return as your crew sir! See ya on the water :)
Drink more water, should lighten your tea.
We want bikinis!
I need to drop a few pounds, not quite ready for beach season.
This video gives hope to my oday 23 🤣😂 nice video 🍖
We used to go over to Menemsha Pond thru Quicks Hole from Padanaram in an Ensenada.
Top notch content! It is only a matter of time before you can use your YT revenue to finance a bigger and bolder boat and lifestyle.
I have a 1978 Columbia, but it has a really similar design to your boat. I was wondering how you like the Tohatsu 6hp saildrive and could you motor with her a far distance in semi rough conditions?
It's a great motor and it's perfect for calm conditions and light winds. If you're looking at less than a meter seas it will get you around, anything else would be a slow trip, especially upwind.
I used a log chain instead of a strap to launch .
Good afternoon . I was the proud owner of a1976 Kells Coaster with wheel steering . The wheel was put on for the in the water boat show in Phila. I picked up a few boats and delivered them for a dealer from Penna . The longest trip I ever made with the boat was from Chatham MA. to Nantucket Island . Fun boat and trailered her from the Cape to the Chesapeake Bay area . Good luck
That's awesome. It had to be the only one with a wheel.
hilarious. keep it up ive watch all you videos
Thanks! I'll come up with something this winter to keep it going.
1 million subscribers let's...GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
I'll start adding my shocked face cover photos now.
BTW, I've learned that the mail sheet is set-up as a Crosby Rig. I don't know too much about it other than it was designed by William F. Crosby an editor of Rudder magazine
Good to know. I was so confused by the cleat on the opposite side, but I just left it.
Thanks for posting the video! I just picked up a 1976 Kells 23 swing keel and trying to absorb as many of the non-existent posts I can find online! :)
No problem. That's awesome Tom! Yeah, not much info out there, but I can say it's been a good first sailboat.
planning sailing long distance?
That is the plan at some point, but I'm definitely going to need a bigger boat.
yes maybe you need bigger boat, at least for the comfort, greetings from Iceland@@captain-steve
What an adventure! Awesome stuff 👍
Thanks Alex! Blown away you found my video. Looking forward to your trimaran.
@@captain-steve thank you! I love watching others have a great time with small boats!
That was definitely pee. 😂
That was what we call smooth sailing! A pleasure helping you Capt. Steve!
Very nice 👍
What kind of kayak you using?
Old Town Predator 13
Good job on reentry. Good thing to know should such a crisis arise. Hope to see you on the water again.
Thanks. Only funny, because a couple weeks before I was practicing in a lake. I'm sure I'll catch you again down there.
dude those were some scary waves, nice job on that recovery, by the time I got to speed you were back up. and the rest of the night was flat calm I have no idea where those came from.
Yeah it was, thanks for coming to my rescue. It was like glass in the morning out there. It's all good, I know for next time.
The audio of your voice is all dumped on either the Left or Right Speaker, so it makes it hard to watch with headphones on. But Nice Fish!
The left, I need a better mic setup. Thanks!
