Kubrick-Inspired Experimental Film About a Struggling Author
You have a valid point, except that films have one single director in charge of the entire creative vision and actors play specific roles, whereas sound, effects, etc are far more like departments with a team of people collaborating. It's still the leader of that department that gets the award and makes the speech etc.
Each of these films had only one editor. Why is it impossible to write their names? In the case of 'Anora', the writer, director and editor were all the same person, but his name was only mentioned in this article for the first two.
this didn't make sense i know what you mean though

@@RadioactiveSludge When most chocolate was milk chocolate, some companies created mint, then Terry's was unique for making orange chocolate. Recently, other companies have started making orange chocolate, so Terry's started making mint, and now they've just launched milk chocolate, going back to where most companies started.

Hocus Pocus out of focus, this whole movie! People love who they love but they are born innately straight, gay or bi…non binary or pansexual. These are all just versions of refusing identification like society has previously put on people.

Why hasn't anyone taken notice of how hot Paul is? And why does Lloyd have to look gay, thus reinforcing the stereotype?
Well done 👍

This short film would have ended badly if Lloyd had slept in his own bed.

I'm a little confused about the ending. Obviously, the guy isn't straight, but it cut from him going "i wish..." to them falling asleep on each other. It would've been cool to see him go through the motions of accepting himself for who he is. Especially since he'd been going to therapy and still thought he was straight. Don't get me wrong, therapy is great. Been in it for the majority of my 42 years of life. I'm simply wondering why he went to therapy and what they spoke about. We, as an audience (and his friend), could see he needed it, but he seemed reluctant and unsure why she suggested it. I get that it's just a short little film, but the ending felt like it suddenly moved at the speed of light. It's got a great message and the acting was good. :) The woman he ended up dating was by far my favorite character. I could see myself having amazing conversations with her for hours. :)
@@MidnightSonnet I thought about that, but in the end it seemed better to show rather than tell. The shot of him waking up with a smile told us that he was at peace with himself without him needing to say anything.
the brother is hot!!!
Why would he tell that old shrew anything at all? I wouldn't. Her constant nagging wouldn't make anyone want to share with her. I only decided to tell my mom when I was in my 50s, I just don't care about her opinion anymore.

So during her life she hasn't got any? 😢
@@djonedsananto1336 No, all she got was 15 countries, but no personalised memorial benches. 😭
If I had a mother like that, and there was no way for her to change her behavior or curb her comments, I'd most likely break contact with her completely. I just can't live with someone that dramatic, overly critical, self-absorbed and judgmental in my life. 😬 Glad it worked out for the two lads in the end.

Peter, Paul and Mary!
@@voxveritas333 Very deliberate, but only the older actor noticed!
From the start: It seems an odd choice to have given her a cup that might have been a coffee cup. She's waving it around with extreme confidence, so, clearly it's empty, but seems like an odd choice for her to have it if she's not going to use it in some larger way.
If I recall correctly, the actor insisted on it. I think it was a cold day and the cup probably had coffee in during the first ten takes... 😂

Great film, I identify with Peter way more than I would probably like. Keeping secrets can be hard but sometimes revealing them can be even harder. Bit of a tangent but I had to laugh at the names, Peter, Paul and Mary was the name of a group back in the day.
One of the actors realised as well, but none of them picked up on their surname being Seeger, after Pete Seeger. It's not mentioned out loud, but it's in the script and the credits.
@@lthewitt I saw all of that in the credits. I love things like that.
