We believe that agriculture is the sector with the greatest potential to positively impact the future of our planet.
We are inspired by the great challenge the world has presented us - to produce enough safe, nutritious food for all, while caring for our animals, and sustaining our land, air and water for future generations. Our natural resources may be finite, but human ingenuity is infinite.
What started as one company’s vision has become a call for collaboration. Planet of Plenty is a vision of promise, possibility and positivity for the future. It’s our belief that a world of abundance is achievable, but it will take all of us working together.
It’s a vision that must be led by science, technology and a shared will to make a difference - to plant trees we’ll never see grow.
Sustainability means taking positive action today for the success of tomorrow. It’s a pursuit where there’s always room for improvement… and a new idea.

Nature’s upcyclers: How cows transform waste into the food we need
Cows play a vital role in global nutrition security. As humans increasingly look for ways to feed our growing population while fighting back against climate change, cows are already quietly doing their part to help, through the power of upcycling. Whenever you enjoy a cheeseburger or an ice cream cone, you’re also playing a part in this natural and bountiful food cycle.

Bruh cattle literally compact the ground more than anything
I'm sure there's more to it than that
We need more, a lot more, cattle to save the environment and to regenerate soils.
I work diggin up tons and tons of dirt everyday and i would say water and time is a bigger fractor than imagined fertilizer glue
Its so good to see decent people having a productive respectful conversation about Agricultural, This sure do get people's blood going, Don't it!..
Even with no till you need to till every couple years for compaction and other reasons. No way its been no tilled for 20 years straight. Cows also really don't do much for soil fertilization. Except organic matter but if you don't harvest your cover crops then you get that organic matter anywase
400 years of bison and tall grass prairie soil structure in Iowa Have been all but destroyed in Iowa by farmers in only 40 years.
#1 it hasn’t been destroyed by any means. There was damage in the past with old practices, but the things that lead to that erosion and such aren’t issues in the modern industry. #2 where on earth are you pulling the timeframe of 40 years from? That seems completely random. The land has been farmed for 160+ years, what happened over 40?
I call scam. One with only dirt an one with plant an dirt. Hummmm not a fair test.
Growing soil is the answer. 😊
Come on man, you need to take a like fkr like sample. Im on your side of the fence when it comes to ag practices but that is too impartial
Must use tillage as needed to provide smooth ground that can be traveled at 8 to 10 MPH or increase planting and harvest time or stress equipment and operators. Everything in moderation, till only where and as needed.
This is straight propaganda. Nothing says you have to use cows or you have to use synthetic fertilizer, like there are no other ways. The actual data, not anecdotal made up stories from people wearing overalls on youtube, clearly shows cows are devastating for our environment
I agree that this is a completely flawed sample, that said I disagreed with some of your other points. As far as fertility, you are pretty much limited to manure and chemical fert. There’s really nothing else available in enough mass to feed our soil. As for environmental stuff I’m not sure what specific details you’re talking about. If it’s deforestation that’s only really an issue in developing countries, areas that have been developed longer are not actively clearing land. Methane is an issue, but there are ways to mitigate it and it should also be noted that it’s a relatively insignificant portion of total emissions. You’re going to be infinitely more impactful focussing on renewable energy and such.
What a shame that he doesn't take as much care of his body as he does his land. We need his agricultural wisdom to stick around for as long as possible.

Bring back the buffalo
The farmer is Gabe Brown. He is extremely respected as a leader in regenerative agriculture. especially a method called pasture cropping that was developed in Australia by his friend Colin Seis
So we must use domesticated animals to fertilize and not wild ones? Or is it specifically ungulates? Or is it specifically cows?
But you could have bison that produce far less methane and destroy far less of the eco system, but you don’t. Kind of makes his weird soil flex worthless
This guy doesn't look like an advert for healthy food.
Gabe Brown, the voice of Ag God. Thank you, sir, for all you do!!
So why do governments all over day livestock is a major problem?
Anyone that says that is way behind the times. It's not the livestock that is the problem, rather the method of Management
It's not the cow, it's the how 😊.
You can find that difference in the same field, doesn't prove anything
That field doesn’t look like it’s “no-tilled”
One was moist one was dry , that's always a big difference
The higher organic matter in the healthier soil allows more moisture retention
Sheep can do the same job
He digs up two piles of soil, put them on the truck and then doesn’t let you see them. That tells you everything you need to know.
Your distrust and ignorance tells us everything we need to know about you.
@@Ajaxxgopwit’s called evidence. Blind trust in somebody is a terrible idea. There is no reason for us to inherently trust this man we’ve never met.
@@Ajaxxgopwso do you expect us to just blindly believe him without evidence?
Unfortunately the majority of the regenerative farming movement is more focused on using the fears of a public that’s very ignorant to agriculture to push their ideas than actual science and evidence.
@ spoken like a true Big Ag zealot. There is nothing "unfortunate" about the regenerative farming movement. Now go back to work at Monsanto and with your science create more toxic chemicals that we "have to have" in the name of progress.
Bro, just committed theft
Hard to comment on this small outtake… will watch the whole Doc…
How do you intergrate cattle onto a field of grain?
If you can't figure that out maybe you should go to accounting school.
@@TheWhale45 Well, if he is talking about letting his cattle graze on the straw after the grain is cut then maybe he should ask his neighbor if he can let his cattle roam over on his property as well. I dont see a lot of value in grazing straw.
@@outsideview9052filler , they still get fed in bunks.
@@outsideview9052straw comes from oats or wheat. Farmers don't plant just oats or wheat, those are typically a cover crop for alfalfa or other perrenial crops. The livestock would be grazing not on straw but the green crop sprouting behind the straw plants. But, I bet you knew that already.
@@stevearttus8164 This video is clearly comparing two separate grain fields. That is why the man said the other farmer has done "no till" farming on that field for years. The example you are using (planting a cover crop) is only done once when the alphalpha is first planted. My original question still stands. How do they provide any meaningful intergration of cattle onto a field of grain after the crop is harvested and all that is left is straw? The video is incomplete.
Complete bullshyt
Clearly you're not aware of who Gabe Brown is and what he achieves
Lord help me is this the new 2 Pac and Biggie? 😅
Soil type is the most important thing. My land is garbage. Just is the way god made it. You could go in to our pasture that has had live stock on it for 200 years and has NEVER been broken and has NEVER grown a crop in 4 billion years. You could put a shovel in the ground there and you pull out a sample and go “oh man that stuff is garbage”…… yea it’s been that way since God said “let there be light”.
So you think that God the creator of all life made a system basically void of life that is only productive a fraction of the year? I would urge you to dig deeper in thought and research the effects that continuous over grazing has on the landscape. From a fellow rancher, good day.
@@406regengarage I don’t think, I know. The earth is not in a harmonious balance everywhere all the time. Not all soil is created equal. That is an indisputable fact. You can’t turn a Yugo in to a Ferrari.
@@406regengarage And that still works in something like say bog lands?! There are many lands that are unusable for grazing or farming.
Regenerative agriculture etcetera has transformed many an average field into high quality living soil. Poor soil is easily remediated
Thanks for showing us the difference 🤔
😂
We didn’t get to see anything, you didn’t show any side by side close ups, what’s the difference? Also as mentioned how convenient you pulled in the middle of the row of your neighbors but took the root mass of yours
Also, you could take two steps in any direction and get opposite results in each field
Grow something then you'll be able to see it. See How dark his soil is. See How good it smells.
@@TheWhale45 are you implying that I don't grow anything? From the video no I can't tell much difference in color, especially since he took bare soil its always gonna be lighter, a closer examination maybe. I can tell his also is "Platey" as it broke apart right where the majority of the roots stopped only a couple inches down, very common in notill
Needs more testing to even begin to try to form a hypothesis.
It's common bloody biology, poop is natures fertilizer.
Why don't you pull a fair sample,,neighbor s sample was bare ground,,while your sample was pulled directly under the crop,,the root mass is always more impressive than bare ground sample,,,I agree with your thinking but not your process,,,,
That would not go with the narrative 😂
His neighbor chooses, chooses to have bare ground. Gabe Brown chooses not to have bare ground on any part of his land. He isn't going to dig up his neighbor's crop. That would be inconsiderate. Spend about half an hour drilling down on holistic Regenative farming. Carbon Cowboys. Savory Institute. Joel Salatin. Greg Judy.
@@jimbaker7133You clearly have no clue. Research Gabe Brown.
@@jimbaker7133Which narrative? The one that's grown food for thousands of years, or the one we started using in the last 100?
@@Freeland-Farmthe narrative that feeds 9 billion people. We get 5x the yield that farmers received in the 1800’s and early 1900’s. Without drought resistant genetically modified crops, no till farming, irrigation and chemicals we would have 1/5th of the crops we have today. Even if you drop that number to 1/2 the yield world wide we would have world wide starvation. I can promise as a farmer if I don’t apply these scientific measures to growing crops on my farm I would go bankrupt. I don’t do things that are not giving us results. We carefully evaluate and determine what works and what produces the most for the dollars and effort we put in. The only people doing organic farming are small scale farms that can afford to give it a try because they have extra land, inherited land, or mostly paid off land. No bank is going to give you a loan to go try old school farming practices unless you have some sort of niche market or proven track record for that product backing you up. I can promise there is a reason we don’t all farm like 1800’s farm families anymore. Maybe you do and I wish you good luck.

the big issues is all salmon poop builds up underneath the fish pens, so the salmon gets sick, so they give them a lot of antibiotics. only a 1/4 away through this video. i will bet anything all those salmon producers paid to have this video made...it's not very objective.

@@exeneron2094 i bet you think the earth is flat
Isn’t one small problem that we don’t get black soldier flies here in the UK?
what about deforestation to make place for agricultural lands? who cares about methane when we are burning our lungs to make cow space?
