    Same here hiked to Ed Garvey shelter yesterday for a overnighter. I had no appetite hike out this AM feeling rough.

      It has been absolutely brutal. Any climbing in the middle of the day and you are out of energy. Then you are tired but can’t sleep because it’s too hot.

      I meet so many Nobos everyday. I think just sometimes going south I end up at different shelters and spots to camp then those going north.

    I love math and love the way you balance your food cost versus your lodging cost or more so a day cost. Many people go in debt hiking the big trails. You got coffee, pancakes, pizza, and tent lodging for around $22

    Was a nice shelter to have to yourself for the night. Sorry it was drafty. If you were a northbounder on this trip do you think you would consider wanting to climb to an upper level or are the upper levels not worth the hassle at the end of the day. Assuming there was room to not have to go up. Just curious what your take is.

      If it was cold I would consider going up to get some cover from the wind. Otherwise I’m going lower level just so I can piss in the middle of the night much easier.
