I'm glad I watched this video (video; am I old? Do we refer to it as something else? 😬) for a few reasons but mainly because I was about to ask you via insta when part 3 of trauma club (aka Assassin's Quest reaction) was going to be out 😂

Got my dad into Joe Abercrombie. One of my earliest memories as a kid was him reading through a compendium that had all three lord of the rings in one book (yes I know they’re technically one book as it is). He kinda fell into a funk the last like decade and a half. And not read much. He’s finishing the third book now and ecstatic over it. It usually takes him about 4 months to finish a single 500ish page book. He’s a busy guy. He’s read all three of the first trilogy in less than 2 months.

I thought Elantris was great!

I loved the first two. But not the last one I missed the court intrigue that was there in the first two books It became nore like quest epic type. There was no balance I felt third one should have given importance to patience and burrich...one who wants her dead husbands kegacy to go on by rallying inlanders to fight the raiders ... the other burrich wanting to avenge his dead son figure qnd finally accepting to use his wit to find verity release the elder lings and finally kill regal The other ls failed Fitz...these two were the ones eho genuinely cared for him

Just do it for yourself and read the Witcher. Its one of the best things Poland has to offer and we have pierogi

I still cant get on board with calling listening to audio books reading, no judgement at all. everyone should be allowed to consume stories how they enjoy. But it's not the same experience at all. It is a very different thing when i read my son a story compare to when he reads one himself. Both are beautiful and important experiences, but not the same.

Considered stormlight but I wasn't a big fan of mistborn. I thought the story was good, just poorly told. Is stormlight better writing?

The Anderida novella's might be the highest quality books I own.

and yes... the way they made the audio in this one is outstanding. always a bonus whn narrators can somehow add to the book experience for the listener. other narrators that i really think makes a difference : Steven Pacey (Firstlaw series). Christian Rodska (Powder mage) 1-5 Rob Inglis (hobit, Lotr). can also recommend Michael Kramer and Kate Reading in the Eye of the world / Wheel of time series.

The Malazan series is unmatched for me. The characters, the concepts, the narrative arcs, the scope, the sheer epicness, it's just on a different level to anything else I've read.

I’m a big Tad Williams fan!

Malazan is very well suited to reading it in a book club setting/format, and it provides a lot of discussion material for potential content.

I wasn't expecting to like mistborn era 2 because I enjoyed era 1 so much. I recently finished the lost metal and I think I like era 2 better. It was a fun tonal shift and out of genre from what I normally read.

Elantris was cool, I think it gets a bad wrap! I think will like it! I really need to read Dungeon crawler carl! I'm waiting for the kickstarter to come in but its killing me😱
