I'm pretty sure that Shadow almost died because that was his first time going super. In 06 he helped fight a literal god. I'm pretty sure that, like Sonic, he only gets stronger as time passes, so, like Sonic vs Perfect Chaos in base Generations, maybe Shadow can now take on Final Hazard in his base form, since his Air Shoes can let him fly in space.

You should see Shadow 101. It's Eggman talking about Shadow as well as some other details that will satisfy a Sonic Fan.

Between this, the intro to Sonic Generations x Shadow and possibly Sonic 3 the movie with a very easy marketing strategy, who knows, we may get the Chao Garden back officially in spades.

Agreed, getting to see that angle with the ENTIRE Space Colony ARK. Adventure 2 was my favourite too and man this game wants my money haha. ALSO yes, the Gravity Drums in Final Chase sometimes would just fling you off into space in SA2.

You're right about the mistranlation. It was just about being easy. Though the English localizers probably knew what they were doing (even if it was cringy). There's a much worse translation error in the previous scene. "Looks like we're on our way to the ARK. I guess that means we're going too" Japanese doesn't need to use pronouns as much as English. You usally assume based on context what people are talking about. What Sonic was supposed to say is "Looks like the Black Arms are on their way to the ARK. Guess that means we're going too"

There are a myriad of Shadow Moments that I enjoy, but on the sillier side of the matter... The "4th Chaos Emerald" remark in Shadow the Hedgehog 2005 and Shadow stopping time to roadhouse kick Silver in the back of the head in Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 (interesting coincidence the two just so happen to have "the Hedgehog" in their titles) are my two favorite meme moments for Shadow.

For clarification for yourself and passers-by. Meracle Chamlotte is a character from a game developed by tri-Ace, and published by Square Enix. It's not an OC, but a re-creation made free hand using official art of the character, as well as in game screenshots. The game being Star Ocean. More specifically "The Last Hope." I tried to explain this in the post, as the images were accompanied with text explaining that she was a cosplay, and not a character I designed. If you Google her name, you'll be able to see how close I got to the character herself. I can't take credit for the original creation of the character, as that belongs to a well known illustrator. Katsumi Enami has the credit for her design and concept. I will also be attaching this information to my Twitter posts as I don't feel right taking credit for someone else's design, as it was never my intention in the first place. I also attached an OC to that post, which was included in case this was for OC's only. Perhaps I wasn't entirely clear with my original posts on Twitter.
