Tips for shopping for your new tractor!
Just got one and got to use it this week, man its a really good tool, very powerful machine, ive been very impressed
Great video! I'm right there with you. I found a 2015 XL F250 CCLB 4x4 last year with 50,000 miles. It was a government truck. Very clean but basic, crank windows. It did have the tow package and I added the auxiliary switches. Very nice truck. The gas just made better sense. I don't tow often but I do carry my job box and lumber weekly. I like the 6.2 of all the reason you say. It's a huge engine that doesn't make a ton of power and it can't hurt itself. Also had a company work truck for 3yrs, a 2016 F250 6.7. Also a very nice truck and I loved the diesel when I was towing 15k. The DEF system maintenece is a real headache, the fuel and oil services are much more expensive even for DIY. Not to mention all the potential problems with modern diesels, like complex electrical systems, fuel system, Upper oil pan, turbo, and def system. Every issue is a $1000+. I agree on the fashion statement, a truck is for work. I also own a 96 7.3 F350 that I enjoy wrenching on. Easy reliable power plant that actually has access. For the price I think gas today is a wise move, unless you tow heavy for long distances.
How are you liking this mower? Does it have enough horsepower or does it choke down in thick grass?
Dogs in the background being goofballs had me busting up laughing🤣 nice truck! Im in the same situation except i drive a super cool lifted 2011 tundra thats great for the family and super reliable. But i plan to run a 2004 chevy duramax lb7 3/4 ton with dumper dog 6’ dump bed insert, a boss poly 8’,2 v plow. Both of those are too big/heavy for my little 1/2 ton tundra. Dont get me wrong. It can do it as like you said it squats but sways and tows with plenty of power but just isnt liking it. I am a mechanic so i can fix any injector issues but im nervous when I sell my tundra that i’ll be making the switch to a nice 3/4 ton but ultimately buying a truck that will be slightly older and diesel that may be unreliable compared to my percectly running tundra.
Just sold an Ecoboost Lariat F150 for a 6.2L XLT F250. Going back to the basics, tired of complicated over-engineered garbage braking on me. That F150 was FAST and very comfortable...but I couldn't tow without overheating or misfiring.
I liked your video. Gj;).
Best brand of stick equipment out there always has been
Thanks for the tips! Couldn't help but laugh when the dog had to add his signature to your paint job! lol
Sir, you have the (2620 with the curved handle) NOT the 2620H, just sayin' : ) Strange, because most reviews say that they like the curved handle. I need to buy one soon, they are price now at: $629.99 as of 6/29/24 BUT now I don't know what handle to buy, they don't have these models at the store so we can't even try it out and hold them. What a conundrum!
Hey man. Love the truck, but I do have to tell you something. If this f250 was just your work truck and not your everyday vehicle. You should have gotten the regular Cab long bed. Since that configuration on the f250 and f350 have max towing and payload. Just remember to keep 4x2 instead of 4x4 if you want max towing and payload capacity.
98% of truck owners dont use their truck for its intended purpose, this guy sat down and actually used his brain on his purchase, good job.
Because F a diesel that’s y been there done that
Swamp buggies always have skinny ag tires.Yes the wide tires may float you on top to a degree, but once you go through the surface, the tall skinny ag tires have a better chance of reaching bottom solid ground.
What year is your truck i have a 2013
Is it still running since you made this video?
You can abuse the hell out of these from personal experience
How was your gas mileage towing?
In your previous videos you stated you didn't like the D-shaped handle. How are you finding it now? Have you got to like it or do you wish you bought the straight handle model? Thank-you in-advance.
My 5.9 Cummins is 30 years old n still going
Finally! A video that points out the HUGE difference between R1 and R4 tires. I've see it many times, your theory starting at the 5:25 mark is fact... Most people don't understand that R1 tires will cause you to get stuck much more than R4's. R1 tires are skinny and round with large paddle lugs designed to dig in for traction, which equals deep ruts everywhere at the least. R4 tires are wider and less rounded, therefore provide better flotation yet still have about 70+% of the lug height. R4 tires are superior in every situation except one.. If you use your tractor in competition mud bogging and need to dig a big rut in the mud with hope to find bottom, then R1's are the way to go. Other than that, you are just wasting money on the higher cost of R1's. Along with the items mentioned in the video R4's have much better puncture resistance, stability, load capacity, and overall traction .
One of the best features on my 2012 F-350 6.2 is the 6R140 transmission. In manual mode it holds the selected gear instead of making a frantic downshift 50 yds from the crest of the hill. You can cruise along like a manual transmission and stop gear hunting when towing in rolling hill country. Grade braking is good. Vehicle stability is good. Factory rear locker is good. Being a Ford it has those sharp edged hard plastic hand biting door storage pockets that are narrow. Oh and the “Sync” system…
I wanted a diesel motor over gas but it was around 12k+ plus less to buy the this 2012 f250 w/ 85k miles for 23k vs 35-40k for a diesel one.
Thanks. echo makes this without the curved trigger m use gloves of the strap it comes with 😂 but its rock solid. Keep a tune up kit handy 🔥 killer tool
What type online were you running? Can you run .105 line in this macho without it bogging down?
ps. good thoughtful video
Good comment on taping the safety on the handled throttle in. I have used these since invented as I am a 74 year old arborist. This company bought the original Power Pruner. It is a bit more delicate than the Stihl version and less power but it has more reach and is lighter and easier to handle (doesn't try to twist in your hands due to balance). I own both and glad I do. When one breaks or is stolen I can't live without one and just buy another of both or either.
I'd like a follow-up on this I'm debating between an EcoBoost 3.5 L or the 6.2 L gas I'm leaning towards the F250 because I need a 6 ft bed still feel comfortable with your decision or do you regret getting rid of the 3.5 EcoBoost
Hey! i use Kenda bear claw K299 22.12-8 on my Cub Cadet XT1 here in norway! it is som Beast of some tyres. looks like the same treads on the tyres you use :) I also have the 20.10-8 agri tyres! they are no good in comparison!
Looks like a beautiful place, God bless!
A GLOVE WORKS FOR ME
Did you ever end up getting used to the loop handle trigger? Accidently ordered one with the loop and don’t know if I should cancel and start over again with the straight shaft throttle
Why are you not using a shoulder strap to help take some of the weight off your hands?
Thank you for the tire info !!
It kind of sounds like it. You give her a call and see what you think
Those trucks are just as good as any cloth or leather truck those are the best set up for long term durability
I like your last statement it's a tool not a fashion statement sold a lariat i had for 15 years now i currently just have 3 XLT's one being a regular cab long bed 4wd with rubber floors and a 6.2 V8 so i get it !
Does mower ride better? Mine is killing my neck and back
Yessir, that smile confirms it. Good on you, and Blessings.
Or, dogs…
And, looks like a good dog trying to get some video time!💪🏻👍🏻
Yup, mighty fine. 6.2 is outstanding…
Right on, …that’s a solid rig. I have a 2016 with 18,000 miles. It replaced a 2008 6.4 PS. That one could not survive on those low miles. One year, I ran up & down the interstate with a 5th wheel 14 times. Cleaned her out and ran great. However, short trips 1st yr , was in the shop 63 days. Thanks for just speaking truth! Very smart reasoning! Press On!
You just have no idea as to what you bought. It is a POLE PRUNER as it is STATED , it's not moron proof but i guess it found you. Its is an tool to do what it's mission is POLE PRUNER it is not a tree chain saw extension.
Recommend bat grip for the pole where you hold it 🎉
Do you not have to wipe the excess off ? Thanks for the informative video.
So far I love mine. 2022 f250 crew cab fx4 6.2 3.73 towing my 30’ fifth wheel total weight of trailer loaded gear and water 9,500lbs 👍🏻
I have a 2011 F150 6.2 Platinum Tow package (11.1k). 3.73. Very rare option for the F150 non raptor. I've maxed it out with no problem. It has almost 200K and runs as good as new. Gas mileage 13-14 is my only complaint. I was using it last summer for work. That is some durable engine! Sounds amazing too. Love to start it up. Last owner put something nice in the exhaust  . On the highway it stays around 1500 rpm driving. I have 20" wheels
We are looking at purchasing our first 5er and it weighs 9200 dry . Pulling with a 2017 f250 6.2 gasser. You still towing your fifth wheel with no issues?
@@Koalabearsuits unfortunately no the truck developed a bad engine nock and the transmission lost 5th gear so the dealership purchased it lemon buy back. I now have a 22 F350 XLT FX4 crew cab long bed with the 6.7 powerstroke Pulls our trailer effortlessly, the 6.2 will be fine it’s just at max or slightly under depending how your truck is specked out. Just check brakes on your truck and rig and you’ll have a great time!
I purchased a 22 f250 crew cab STX FX4 6.2 v8 seats 6 love the truck it pulls my 10k fifth wheel with ease. I just wanted a truck that will hit 300k and I can service on my property. I’m coming from a 6.7 Cummins and no regrets
I got a 2021 F-350 7.3 FX-4 , SuperCab STX with 4.30 gears . I got the vinyl seats & rubber floors also ! Luv it ! The 10 speed does best towing I agree . 👍 I got two alternators & two batteries with the snow plow prep package. 😊
I’m dying 😂
I got a 2021 F-350 w/7.3 Godzilla V8 SuperCab FX4 STX & 4.30 gears. It tows anything I want so far , it has two batteries & alternators also . 😊 Its rated for 20K Lbs gooseneck, 15K bumper hitch. 4300 Lbs payload . I was looking into a 6.7 diesel originally but so glad I didn’t go that route . I think I have the ultimate gas powered pickup Superduty truck . 😊
Could I tow 7500 lbs + with a 2018 F150 2.7 Ecoboost? Just curious
