Hobgoblins for me was the worst. Dragged out exposition and strange directions.Heck I wanted to see the Hobgoblins kill one of the teens because of how unlikable they are. And why Amy wasn't concern about about her Boyfriend's safety only caring that he was strong for him. At least if she cared about his well being, her being controlled by the Hobgoblins would at least care about her. However, we do get some legendary segments with the Hobgoblins song and the Crow's PSA on Women.

My personal favorite short is Out this world from 1954. The one where a surprising square devil and an even squarer angel are entrusted with keeping track of salesmen. The Devil bets the Angel that Bill Dudley, the impossibly square and impossibly dedicated bread salesman, can be tempted away from selling bread. Needless to say the angel wins the bet. It was probably good for training salesmen when it was made but now it's only good for MSTing.

Beatniks I feel is another not so bad movie. A pretty decent idea with a singer having a criminal history and seeing that maybe his life wasn't good before he became a singer. Also Girl in Gold Boots has a pretty good conflict with Michelle realizing that her dream of being a dancer may not be all that's cracked up to be since she sees the dark side of her job and Critter choosing to either run or help Michelle out of her prison....still shlocky but pretty solid conflict.

Teenage Crime Wave was the one I hated watching the most because the entire second half of the film was an utter slog that you wanted to end early, but it never did, and when it finally did end, you wish it ended a lot sooner. It might as well be called "Stalling: The Movie". Mike and the bots' riffs barely saved it for me.

Two stingers that crack me up are “Johnny, don’t go, it’s too dangerous!” “I don’t care!” from Time of the Apes, and “I’ll be a CELEBRITY!! And SO WILL YOU!!!!” from Kitten with a Whip.

Honestly, throughout all of the Christmas party episodes, the whole team talks over and over about how surprised they are that Ken changed, but Daisuke says he doesn't see it. He isn't even surprised that Ken laughs so easily. It makes you think about the side of Ken only Daisuke sees....

We have no idea whether or not Aziraphale and Crowley are genderless or sexless. It's canon that supernatural beings are genderless and sexless "unless they make an effort." We don't know if they've made an effort or not.

"We already have Aziraphale and Crowley. Do something else." I was semi-enjoying your review until this point. But as the video progresses, your annoyed, sarcastic, superior tone becomes grating. Why not just share your thoughts--why do you have to do the fake, exasperated little sighs, the pedantic lectures about story-telling?

Your review, as it progresses, starts to sound quite lecturey and preachy, as if you can speak for everyone as you share your opinions and reactions. I never looked back at the magic episode in season 1 as "angsty" after watching season 2. Not everyone allows newer material to change the pleasure they took in earlier stuff.

Episode 4 I found hilarious as a parody of ubiquitous zombie films. Also, I think it has a lot of important moments in the development of C & A's relationship.

Regarding the Job minisode: the fact that C & A have to game an unfair system is the entire point of the book's and series's view of heaven. One main theme of the franchise is humanism--examining the highs and lows of humanness, but mainly the positives (it's quite hopeful theme) like compassion, imagination and growth. Those are the qualities that C & A love about humans. As part of portraying that theme, the book and series both emphasize how heaven is basically a cold, compassionless, empty bureaucracy. In season 1 in episode 1, neither Crowley nor Aziraphale can remember who started the French Revolution, which caused so much suffering to humanity. Heaven and hell act without regard to how earth and humanity will be impacted--they want another war, for example, which will kill all humans. They don't care; C & A do, so they stop it. So I think that showing the horrific effects of the bet between God and Satan, and C & A trying to mitigate them, is completely in character.

I can't agree with you on Crowley being unable to be in denial after his talk with Nina. He and Azriaphale have been forced for milliennia to hide their feelings, probably even from themselves, for their own safety. They've only been free agents for a couple of years. It doesn't surprise me in the least that they haven't been self-reflective enough to realize their feelings for each other yet in that short time.

I feel sorry for NASA. Because after Mike broke the Hubble, NASA probably had to spend a fortune reparing it

02 was my favourite series of a whole. 01 was amazing and set the foundation for future Digimon so I always find it hard to choose but, 02 felt like Empire Strikes Back in the sense we have established characters and can focus more on the enjoyment of the series.

I loved Overdrawn At The Memory Bank. It was pretty good scifi for the early '80s, and it had a really solid narrative. Phase IV, on the other hand, was a train wreck. MST riffed both of those.

On another note, I'd personally add The Creeping Terror and The Wild Wild World Of Batwoman to this list. Both are absolutely abysmal in their own different ways.
