Serenity's Embrace - Solo Sections Playthrough - Symphony of Heaven

Here are the lead sections I played on Symphony of Heaven's song "Serenity's Embrace" 🤘🏻Again I am no longer with the band, but wanted to share these parts with you. Unlike the solo for The Hunter, the audio and video here were recorded separately, so some parts don't align quite as well. Played the exact same way as on the album though, hope you enjoy!

Hey folks! Here’s footage of one my solo’s with Symphony of Heaven last night! It was my first show with them, and such a great time. Solo is a little rough around the edges, but had a blast playing. Will be back with more regular videos again soon, but in the meantime enjoy the solo, and check out Symphony of Heaven if you haven’t already!

This is a song I've wanted to do a version of for quite awhile, but just hadn't gotten around to it until now. I think this song has such a cool melody, and it worked pretty well for this style of metal (in my opinion). Hope you enjoy it! (Also, apologizes for the inconsistency in the color of the video clips, there were slight differences in the lighting that seemed to bother my editing softwa...

Ozzy - No More Tears - Guitar Solo Cover

While Zakk might be my least favorite of Ozzy's guitarists, he still had some pretty sick solos in the earlier days with Ozzy, and this one has always been one of my favorites. I was just teaching this one to a student, so I decided to go ahead and cover it myself too! Hope you enjoy it 🤘🏻 JJmetal97 Instagram @jakejensenguitar

Great lesson....That is the nicest Jackson V I have ever seen. I'm not a fan of V's in general, but I would definitely get that one...LOL
Glad you enjoyed the video! And yeah this series Jackson made was great. I actually have the purple version of it now lol, but both were awesome imo
6 minutes in and ...fkng nothing usable. Good job clown boy.
>Kirk Hammett on those Early Metalliza albums >a negative idk man, the solo to Seek and Destroy is one of the reasons i even took up guitar. im not a good player by any means, but it sounds great. it sounds raw and that's not always bad.
If you like the sound of “raw” guitar playing then that’s great for you, this lesson is specifically for those who want great hand synchronization. Aka, not sounding raw
Excellent lesson! Thank you!
So glad you found it helpful! 🤘🏻
Yes i struggle with this ...
Killer cover 🤘🏻
such a great video but only 788 subscriber
Glad you enjoyed the video! And yeah, the UA-cam algorithm isn’t very kind to folks who aren’t posting videos every couple days, but the channel is starting to grow slowly, will be posting more soon!
Kirk Hammett has achieved much more than you can imagine. Please do not disrespect him. Use him as your stepping stone. He paved the way while you're still in diapers.
I’ll stop “disrespecting” him when he stops disrespecting the fans. I have no respect for a man who plays for tons of fans paying big money to see the band, yet he’s too lazy to put the effort in to practice. And he didn’t really pave the way for anything for me. James wrote all of the good riffs the band had after Dave was kicked out, and as a lead player there’s nothing Kirk did that was new or special. I give respect where it’s been earned. Kirk just hasn’t done anything to earn it
Sweet guitar. Cool video idea but could have completely cut all the talking before "try it legato", that's gonna irritate the shit out of people 😂
Dude I dont understand like why only the solos? Dont people need to hear the powerchord tone of a guitar clearly?
You can literally hear the rhythm tone at the very start of the video, as well as in the rhythm guitars behind the solo. And this guitar was modeled after the guitar Steve Vai played in crossroads,.. where it’s literally a shred off between him and the kid. Most people interested in the guitar are going to be focused on how it is for leads.
@JakeJensenGuitar oh so u didnt play the solo on a backin track, u played the rhythm guitar line too?
How is the playability and quality?
Hard to go on after you ripped on Kirk….. he was a kid. You could have picked a lot of really awful guitarist for your cheap shot.
Kirk wasn’t a kid, he was 21 when he joined Metallica. I was 25 when I made this video (27 now). Not a big age difference there. And yeah, I could’ve picked a lot of guitarists just as bad as Kirk, but wouldn’t have been getting all these comments from Kirk fanboys that they don’t realize are helping the UA-cam algorithm push this video more and more 😂 So feel free to tell me more about how upset you are I made a joke about Kirk, the comments help a ton! 😉
@ Wow, sorry I checked you out. Done
I'm going to need that in step dad speed.
Until a week ago everything was fine but this week I started to lose coordination in my picking hand ,I`ve been playing a long time I never had any problems until this cursed week.
Improvising most of the Time, it becomes like second nature....THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.... Knowing where you are creating, before and HAVING IT AS THE ENTIRE OUTLOOK...
This is great!! I had no idea it was a Christmas song. Shortly into it I was like uhm 😶 I wonder if he realizes this sounds exactly like a Christmas song! Great stuff. Thx!
This is a really helpful post. I’d not actually consider working my left hand individually to better my sync. It seems counterintuitive until you point out that the left hand is probably the one losing sync. Btw: I’m not a big Yngvie fan either. Lmao 🤣 Never was. I guess I need to learn his 6 pattern.
Did I miss the instruction? All home boy did was talk!
😂 All “home boy” did was tell you exactly how to fix your hand sync issues, and show you examples of how to do so. Seems wild complaining that you watched a lesson video and all the teacher did was teach you lol. If you “missed the instruction” then I don’t know what to tell you because that was the whole video.
@ A reply from home boy himself. Honored. 👊
I'll give it a try I just recently after 20 years finally managed to build some real speed past my plateau but it kinda comes and goes... btw. the lick you are using is the exact lick that Yngwie demonstrated to build speed in the Rick Beato video so I don't know if it's needed to emphasize that you aren't a big fan you are using one of his offhand remarks on how to become fast as a lesson, just saying nothing in that regard would have been fine too, your playing a Rhoads V and no Yngwie posters are visible so I don't think anyone was accusing you of being an Yngwie fan but as a shredder, it's not really optional. You can be a shredder and say you don't like Yngwie and EVH but I mean... that's a bit disingenous when your style is built upon the techniques they developed.
Most people are right-handed, so the left hand is generally the issue. This takes alot of repetitive work with the left hand because it has to do with "muscle memory" which is really just a simple way of describing what happens with the neuro pathways in the central nervous system. Specifically, a substance known as Myelin, which acts like a conduit for those neuro pathways. The more you use those neuro pathways, the more Myelin begins to form around the nerves, allowing them to fire faster and faster. It is fascinating stuff, and it is at the heart of mastering any physical skill. This is how people who do any physical skills for a long time become great at it. Knowing this can help you train for whatever physical skill you are trying to accomplish.
Nice lesson subscribed.
Glad you enjoyed it! Definitely planning to do some more lesson videos here soon 🤘🏻
What I'm struggling with is according to your commentary what the hell the problem with kirks early stuff?
How is not a fan of yngwie. Ridicolous
Hey that rocks ....your awesome.
Think Kirk is laughing all the way to the bank mate.
Thanks for your comment! Even dumb comments like this help the channel a ton so I appreciate your support! 🙌🏻
@rollumeasy8518 And?
wheres your world class technique album to throw out cheap shots out like that. oh you dont have one, ok
Thanks for your comment! Even dumb comments like this help the channel a ton so I appreciate your support! 🙌🏻
Haters are you biggest fans@@JakeJensenGuitar
Not to be rude but you speak far too much and offer little instruction. Let’s face it, no beginner will be able to follow this! So please get on with it as you are obviously an excellent guitarist. Thank you.
Hey there, thanks for the comment! This video was in no way aimed at beginners. If you found it to difficult to follow at your level, I teach private lessons too and can tailor the lesson to what you can handle. Almost 10,000 people have watched this video and it has a 99% ratio of likes vs dislikes, so I’m pretty okay with how I taught this completely free lesson as it seems to have helped a ton of people. Have a nice day
He explicitly said build up speed and then proceeded to play fast. It was OBVIOUS he wasn't talking to beginners. You are reaching real hard to find complaint.
yes it's nice to know, so thank you for helping us who is all alone with our guitar
Kerry King says “nah”
So glad to here ol’ Kerry is watching my videos!
@ heh, he’s just u need solid “doodoodoodooodwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhh weeeeeeeIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE…..rawrrawe*divebomb* weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee *fades*
So I recently am running into this situation right now. I can pick at about 75 - 80 BPM but I've hit a wall with going faster. What I'm learning is that you have to start pushing through on your alternate picking rather than plucking the string. So I've started just doing 3 notes at first to hit the beat.
practice intervals and restricting your picking hand to just your index and thumb moving the pick until they burn or drive you mad and you will break through that wall I guarantee. Build up your thumb muscle on your picking hand so it looks like a beefy chicken drumstick 😆
Fantastic work! 🤘
Thank you!! 🤘🏻
If I could have just gotten my left hand to sync up with my right hand there’s no telling where it could have gone. Now I’m 41 and I can feel the hands not moving like they use to on top of that. I believe you are on to something on just playing the notes with the left hand and no picking. I’ll try it out. Appreciate it
Awesome
Nice!!
Awesome. Very clean. Great job!
Thanks dude!!
nice
Spot on 🤘🏻

More talking
Is that a minor, major arp? Wheres the root ? How to apply on a backin track? Etc
This wasn’t a music theory lesson, nor was it a lesson about how to use arpeggios over a backing track. As the title implies the purpose of the video was to clean up your sweep picking technique. If you’d like to learn more about the questions you asked, I do teach private lessons, feel free to check out my website
@@JakeJensenGuitar thanks, great video to improve my technique!
NIcee
Where did you find the tab for the zakky vengeance part. I’ll be playing this live soon too as the rhythm guitarist.
Oh and killer job by the way 🤘🏼
It was from songsterr I believe. That’s where I pretty much always go for tab, I might’ve modified it though from what I remember, I don’t think what it had was 100% accurate
@@JakeJensenGuitar I agree I noticed it wasn’t 100% accurate but did like your take quite a lot. I’m actually playing it live tonight. Wish me luck!
Great lesson!
What a sausage u aren’t a quarter of the guitarist Kirk is
Liking your video! Muting the strings with the thumb seems like a useful technique. Stumbled on this because I'm battling against natural harmonics ringing when lifting my finger after playing a note no matter how slow I play it and couldn't figure out why. Turning the volume knob down to half kills the effect, but perhaps there's a better solution
