At Baseball Sim Auctions we've taken the auction process used in Fantasy Baseball auctions and applied it to historical baseball seasons! Instead of bidding on PROJECTED stats, you bid on ACTUAL stats!
We deconstruct two or more historical teams and make all the players free agents, the participants then bid on the players until each participant has purchased 26 players. Each participant has $260 Sim Dollars (not real money) to bid on the players. Auctions are conducted either live via ZOOM or via the Sim Auctions website.
After the auction is complete, each owner selects their lineups and also selects the computer manager that will manage their team. The next task is to determine who purchased the best team!

Andy Palomino's team emerged victorious in five seasons, averaging 99 wins per season. The team was powered by the best hitter in the auction, Tod Helton (1.165 OPS), but Andy's team also had good pitching, the most steals and the best defense. Great job by Teddy Willard who finished a strong 2nd, by averaging 92 wins per season and giving Andy's teams a scare by winning the first season with 106 victories before Andy's team came back to win the next four seasons.

Awesome series! Love Derek’s idea about Harwell announcing a game- how about the All-Star game for each season? I’d totally listen to that. Loved listening to Ernie do Tigers games when I was a kid.

This was one of the best Sim Auction World Series, had to sim 10 seasons to determine a winner! Your team and my team tied in average wins per season (87).
I think what put Andy over the top was his team defense.
Defense definitely helped to separate my team, I also think my advantage in stolen bases helped.
is it possible to make the sim speed a bit slower?
Unfortunately there is no way to s;low down the sim speed, but what i could do is review more box scores and stay on the standings screen more often instead of scrolling though all the games.
Agreed, Reggie Smith should be in the Hall Of Fame; he had more career value than Dave Parker!
Reggie Smith (career WAR - 64.5), Dave Parker (career WAR - 40.1), Harold Baines (career WAR - 38.8), not even close! And in 2000+ less at bats. Reggie Smith deserves to be a Hall Of Famer.

Can you slow down the simulation to see a particular game in slow motion? Or one at bat at a time? Not that you necessarily want to do that. Just curious.
