Hi. I really enjoy your channel and followed your BazzFuss and this build and both came out great!… EXCEPT, I can only get them to run on a battery. Any ideas? I tried two different power supplies. I thought maybe I’d wired it backwards somehow, so I tried touching ++ and - on my 9v adapter to see what’s happen. Nothing. I’m not understanding how 9v no matter what the source should matter.

Great video! Thanks! I've just started to build the circuit and I'm curious about the transistors. The three you mention (mpsa13, BC108c, 2N5088) are a little different with the darlington mpsa13 a bit on the extreme side. Which one are you using in the video and have you documented its hfe? Also I'm going for a NOS green LED I've had since mid 90's, so that'll be a cool feature.

I'm a pedal newbie. I purchased this pedal to use for bass but then I discovered it was actually guitar pedal. However It did sound well with you bass so I will see what I can do with it. Like you said, I am only out $25 US.

I have a first version ID Coe stereo 40 which i bought used for $100USD a few years ago. I'm happy with it and plan to mod it with switched 1/4" output jacks to drive external speakers I plan to build for it. these will be 4X12" vertical tpwer cabs with built in mini amp boards and power supplies each for even more power output from the cabs. that when stood together side by side wuth the amp acting as a head will in effect be a full stack. with output of up to 200 total watts or more depending on the amp boards i install in the cabs. my guitar has 3 quad rail/coil humbuckers with wiring like a 50'sles Paul with coil splits too many tone veriations to count. Add to that all of the effects built into the amp and I get virtually unlimited tones available from my little rig already. with the 40 watts I have on tap. and cranked up full it/s loud enough to annoy the nosy neighbors. or I can go stealth mode with a good pair of headphones. that way i can hear it as loud as i like and nobody else can hear. .. as loud as the amp is to begin with, just imaging it with the powered cabs i will add soon. lol Wanna Play???

Mode 2 is my favorite to use on pushing an already dirty & gritty pre-amp. The tone range in mode 2 covers the whole spectrum, which works nice on amps that have a natural midscoop. Mode 1 reminds me of a RAT, or OCD, goes from a light drive to full on distortion. Mode 3 has a more fuzzy character to it, almost like there's a slight clean blend going on among the mayhem. But, you really need to push the volume in Mode 3. Overall, it's related to the Plumes, but it's more it's own thing, I'd say. The gain character is different, and the range of the tone seems wider, or at least shifted to be more useful for lower frequencies, although it still has that sort of mid-hump. Took me a while to appreciate this pedal, but now it's a mainstay on my board.

The hardcore sounds more like an overdrive, the blumes sounds like a fuzz cos of all the low end that comes through

I have this exact guitar. I bought it for 300. Barn find that still had all of the paperwork. It was bought and never played. It’s my very favorite guitar. Extremely well made and is crazy versatile. I won’t ever sell it.

Just got an 03 off ebay. Pawned mine years ago. 100% complete with original hard case. I am excited.

Note that the "front end" of the EHX/JHS "Lizard Queen" pedal IS a Bazzfuss. It feeds a Tim Escobedo Push-Me-Pull-You octave circuit. The stock Lizard Queen connects them directly, but it is a relatively simple matter to wire up a toggle that bypasses the octaving part and takes the Bazzfuss part directly to the volume control.

This youtube poster's experience was different than mine. I just got one May 20, 2024 and there is nothing wrong with it. I went over everything and it's in perfect factory condition. Double boxed, packed really well, no complaints at all. Other than the round wounds it came with that is. Gonna get La Bella flats 2nite.

strange, this tone sounds similar to a General Fuzz from Outlaw Effects. But using a silicon transistor, there is gaping in the clips like a germanium transistor. Rockon

When I first got my ME50 about 20 years ago (actually 20 years ago this week 😳), I remember a lot of people saying the thing sucked.😕 Now, every time I turn around, people are talking about how awesome it is. Took me until just a couple years ago when I got more serious with my playing that I realized how good it sounds. 😎
