One Song to the Tune of Another - Tim Brooke-Taylor RIP - ft. Rob Brydon & Jeremy Hardy
Tim Brooke-Taylor was one of the I'm Sorry, I Haven't a Clue original lineup, who died on 12 April 2020. Perhaps there's a better recording elsewhere. I recorded this ages ago and just found it on an old laptop.

Still wonderful to hear Jeremy Hardy, he's still sorely missed. Even Jack couldn't resist the Irresistable Rise of Arturo Ui.
Don't agree with Germaine Greer's point at all. Art is not just about ego. And I've never liked football. Nothing snobbish about that
Now, having listened to her more, I disagree with her points even more. You don't have to understand it if it bores the hell out of you
The problem with Leo Strauss is his take on how to read Plato, Aristotle, or any other major political philosopher. Strauss believed that they all wrote in a code so that you have to discard most of what these philosophers actually wrote and look for the hidden meaning behind it all.
Sleazy Hungarian 'chosen'. I dare say it as a Hungarian. Even his voice is a turn off. Classic music scene had several of these. Since then the scene has become more varied- all for the better!
"The Remains of the Day" in my pants, broke him. I think it was the first time the game was played and he was looking undefeatable. I think it was Barry.
most interesting people didn't speak much!
I didn't quite follow the discussion that ended with the mention of Gregor Benko. Was he complaining about Benko for something?
Since he plays the piano for his own enjoyment, he sometimes likes to depart from what the composer has written. So he is annoyed when Benko tells him to stick to the score. I hope this answers your question?
thank you for upload--i know Lost Genius;" i had no idea what he looked like or sounded like at the end--he had a good woman with him at the end, that and drink made it possible for him not to hear how awful he was--i'm glad to finally hear it--i know people who came to the grotesque san francisco final recital--he was author of his own lostness: drink always ends in self pity; drink reveals what you always were even when you were amazing hot stuff at 15
The tragedy of a narcisstic personality.
I must say, as a student of music who is " fettered" by narcissistic personalities in their family, I'd assume you didn't watch the whole thing....
Not one memorable melody in the whole video. But what a great guy.
I use the score to embroider my libido, I don't have a good time in the bedroom I have a good time on the stage wow! Thank you you for introducing me to this great pianist who I honestly had never heard of I love his playing
Quirky fun! Highest Artistry
Not sure about the artistry... he's all but humble, everything appears very much self-oriented. He should have been just a composer, not an interpreter.
Is that Lenny Henry?
more than a bit crazy.
Irving Kristol “The Godfather of Neoconservatism” is Jewish. This may be an important distinction to understand.
And?

10:18 very interesting use of pedal, as written in anton rubinstein's pedal book " vibrato pedal"
I found this old man gross
I couldn’t listen to more than a few minutes of this narcissist.
A child prodigy at age 3 - and still one at age 83.
7:35. "I use a score to embroider my libido". - great line - and true!
Talk about 'self absorbed.' It wears thin after 5 minutes. Like his playing. Is there anything this man talks about other than himself?
I'm sorry but if somebody makes a film about you, then you are kind of expected to talk about... yourself.
@@godspeed3832 If you're an artist you can talk about your art; about what you do. This is all me, me and me.
His voice was more high pitched than I expected. I expected a booming baritone voice.
Like Abraham Lincoln.
Whats the piece called thats played at the beginning?
Wagner Tristan.

I think he did. Terribly funny go but hugely talented
...how are the audience not cracking up at Andy's?
I have the same range as Jo. It was quite a big range, but now I have about 3 low notes.
I wonder if there is someone who went to see the show, and made a point of seeking out Tim to thank him, who refused to get vaxxed and found they were covid positive in that week. I wonder if they wonder if it was themself who infected Tim? I wonder if they live with that personal horror, or whether it would never occur to them? I know he could have caught it in other ways, in other places, but in my head, I keep seeing someone leaning towards Tim, shaking his hand and a sort of cartoon of virus escaping from their mouths... So many gone, now. They now almost have a permanent team Willie Rushton, Humph, Jeremy, Tim, Barry... oh and I think Linda Smith. Now that is some permanent team! I do want to hear Jeremy face off Florence Foster Jenkins in the singing, though!!!
What on earth are you wittering on about? He died in April 2020.
Firstly, Tim died in April 2020, before Covid vaccines were a thing. Secondly, where is your proof that he got infected by an audience member? Thirdly, why did you even have to bring the vaccine debate into this comment section in the first place?
@ Georgie Lancaster, I'm hoping your delirious comment will get deleted, it really spoils this hilarious UA-cam video.
Dude ... get help.
I hope Colin Sell gets well paid.
He's been doing it for so long now that I'm sure he'd have found a good reason to quit and/or do something else by now if he didn't like it. He's on record as saying he enjoyed Humph's put-downs. I also vaguely remember seeing/hearing somewhere that the only person who objects to the constant stream of abuse directed his way is his mother. I don't know if that's true or not, but would dare to guess it probably is. I also suspect his chest almost bursts with pride (and quite rightly so) whenever the audience lifts the roof in appreciation of him and his work. I've always loved the line from their parody of A Christmas Carol, where Colin is actually playing "Colin Crotchet". The narrator (Stephen Fry) says, "Colin was very poor..." at which point Humph (Scrooge, obviously) interrupts with, "Oh, so you've heard him play then?" Brilliant....

Barry has joined Jeremy. Heaven must be rocking with laughter.
Barry has joined Tim, and Jeremy and Humph and Willie Rushton. Soon there will be a full team. Heartbreaking. But I would like to watch a Heavenly episode, with Jeremy's singing rival being Florence Foster Jenkins. And note, when Jeremy tries to sing in character he is far better ,- NOT perfect!!! But far better than when he sings as himself.
I think the uncertain word at 7:28 is "camarero" = "waiter" in Spanish. Any suggestions for the other one? Edit: The other is "straight-jacket." Thanks to Tony Mostrom and his sharp ears.
You're right: "a camarero in a straight jacket."
