A day Sailing trip to Morocco || Sv Vela Nautica
Hello Vela Nauticas Seaplorer!
Finally this time we arrived in Tangier - Morocco. The sailing was smooth we saw a pilot whale we guess. When we arrived and check in was taking a lot of time and waiting and processing. They impounded our drone while we stayed in the country.
We wish you a good day , hope we make you happy by watching our vedios. If you do so,

I know, I know, this Episode is a bit dry. It´s about boat works again. But we got many requests for more detailed description about the setup of our Lithium batteries. That power Vela Nautica and provide electric comfort even when we anchor. So its more interesting for boaters who like to improve their boats. Paul from S/Y Ya Fohi even traveled down to our anchorage at the Algarve to look at t...

Hello Seaplorers of Vela Nautica In this episode we solved the "engine problem" that we encountered, when leaving, ria formosa / Portugal in the last episode (SAILING IN THE EYE OF STORM ) . The marine growth that settled on our propeller slowed down the engine, so the rpm did not go over 1400 rpm, caused by the water turbulences of the propeller. The diesel engine got an overload turning the p...

Hello Seaplorers of Vela Nautica In this episode we sailed first time long distance since Vela Nautica got her refit. Unfortunately it was very rough and we encountered a storm. The tidal currents and the continental shelf in the bay of Cadiz made sailing very uncomfortable. Vela Nautica was thrown by crossing confused seas and overcoming waves. It became even more diffcult as more and more tra...

    Los hay activos y pasivos los igualador es y son mejores los activos y tendrías más control sobre cada unidad independiente de los conjuntos de baterías, Y otro consejo es una bms de 200Anperios por batería o conjunto de ellas

  • @antonioperezgarcia9426
    @antonioperezgarcia9426 Рік тому

    Buenas Comprende que cada módulo compone una sola baterías es una batería independiente, y como tal deberías de tener un igualador de carga máxima de mínimo 2amperios para casa módulo, y no para el conjunto de todo el bloque de unidades del conjunto

    Great job. You realized that Amel failed to use vapor-proof materials and did not use closed-cell foam or the better polyurethane foam board. Who makes this board and where did you get it? The next job will be to insulate your refrigerator with this board. Then you can insulate the ceilings with an insulation board to seriously reduce your A/C demand. Remember to put the vapor barrier on the hot side. Of course, you know this already. We spend 500, 000 euros on a 2007 boat with all of these built-in flaws.

  • @kaptnk51

    Great job Oliver. Where did you get the BMS? How does it communicate to the alternator (assume a cable to the regulator) and other devices (CAN, NEMA2000?). I prefer your 240 V to our 120 V. I run 63 solar panels on my house for 20MWhr/yr production or max 104 kWHr in summer. I am trying to build your system on paper first so that I can understand how all the components work together. I am assuming that you have a disconnect switch or breaker on the battery bank located external to the box (seat) for emergency disconnect or for maintenance. How can you locate the BMS at the nav station so far from the batteries? Side question about the AMEL. How does it power the bow thruster (by battery?).

  • @kaptnk51
    @kaptnk51 2 роки тому

    As a retired PE, Oliver, you are outstanding. Where did you get the PowerBMS? I keep coming up with nothing on google. How about today, 2021, using 200 AH cells and running the bank at 50 V so that you can charge at 200 A from your alternator? You could dump the 50 V to a 27 V unit which is always charged by the 50 V system. The 25 V battery could be 300 AH. You can feed your inverter from the 50 V bank to 240 v Inverter as required. Yes, it would give you double the storage and when you jump from location to location with the diesel, you can charge the big bank. I am looking at 400 w SPs with 4 on the stern and 2 on the side rails. Great job. These are the best batteries with the best battery clamping system to resist battery swelling and extend the battery life.
