    As someone who changes liners, I can’t stand when people do decks like this. They don’t understand how hard it is to get those top caps off that has to be unscrew on the backside while complaining that they don’t want the deck taken apart either

    • @petepete6912
      @petepete6912 2 роки тому

      Yeah, because you guys won't take an extra 15 or 20 more minutes to do it right. Every pool installer I have had came in with a "time is money" attitude, screw quality and the customer. The only install that ever came out right, I did myself.

  • @anon82037
    @anon82037 2 роки тому

    Why not actually frame this out since you can get underneath, and add some joists on hangers? This is an accident waiting to happen.

    Bad, how can you cover your pool in winter when you have no gaps between the pool and the deck?

  • @barthagerman1315

    How did you figure out the correct angles?

    • @manna_mtl
      @manna_mtl 2 роки тому

      I ran the boards parallel to the pools boarder and then bisected the angles and used an angle finder to repeat the angle on the next board.

  • @ednasdeo5131
    @ednasdeo5131 2 роки тому

    It’s a very nice job, but with the boards so close to the coping it will be hard to get the cover on for the winter.

    • @petepete6912
      @petepete6912 2 роки тому

      Plenty of room to sneak a cover in there. That is how I did mine when the hacker that installed my new pool rushed through without taking any measurements. If not, a dozen screws pulled and a few rips will solve the problem. Beautiful job.

    • @seesaw3675
      @seesaw3675 Рік тому

      I had similar problems when putting the cover in wintertime the only option I had is to raise the deck 6 inches above ground pool but good pick!

    • @KatBradley-1968
      @KatBradley-1968 Рік тому

      What if hinges were used for the end board at the supports, so you could flip the board up when putting on the cover? I'm having this same dilemma and haven't added the deck boards to my frame yet.

  • @ednasdeo5131
    @ednasdeo5131 2 роки тому

    It’s a nice job, but with the boards so close to the pool, it will be difficult to put the cover on for the winter.

    • @MossEYE-

      More difficult will be changing the liner when all of those top caps have to be taken off from screws that are in the back bottom of those to reach the top plates underneath. I change liners, and can’t stand when people do decks like this

  • @judyharrison5584

    I have the same problem with my deck. We put up a new pool by the old deck and it left a gap. Wasn’t sure if there was a way to fix it.

      dhrdan I used pressure treated wood that you can find at your hardware store. You can also use cedar and not worry about rot.
