Beautiful! No sound on purpose?
Yes, I'm get lazy...lol I have this saved under unlisted and after watching it again today I made it public.
Nice is there room to get around another vehicle if you should come across one?
The short answer is yes, with very few places that someone may have to back up a little way. We only had one truck to get around and we stopped after moving over as far as we were able, and he had lots of room going by. I hope you go and check it out, I think it's very unique area.
@@RandyPennysAdventures plan to it looks very interesting I'm recently retired and own a 52 willy's that only gets driven around the farm and an occasional trip in town. Thanks for the reply.
Wow amazing so different
It's a very cool area to see,
I believe i will do this in 2 days, in sapinero camping on blue mesa res right now. Glad i came across this video!
We took a group of friends over 520 last summer and they love the views along the lake, and where we stopped by the turn to Kite Lake. Before you get to 520, North Clear Creek Falls Overlook is just off of highway, it's nice falls that's cool to see. Have fun.
@@RandyPennysAdventures awesome.. thanks for the tip
Absolutely Incredible! Going to have to do this drive! Thank you
it is beautiful. There is a few places we will go back to. I hope you make it out you will enjoy it. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video, just did this. Gets a bit scketchier than the video leads on, but easier, with some exposure on the pass and the way down to silverton.
We ran it again last summer and in some places it has got rougher.
🎉
I think back to this trail every now and then, did it around 2002, seemed so remote. Saw a Momma and baby moose standing in a small pond just off the trail in deep woods. Strongly recommend this trail.
It's my top prick of ways into the Silverton area. We ran it again this year after going over the pass at The great Sand Dume NP.
Thanks for this! Planning to come down from MN in April to catch the Total Eclipse down by Poplar Bluff, and this is about the right distance for me to get to in a day's drive. Wish me luck.
I like the very back camping area; we pull back along the woods as far as you can go for camping site. Good Luck and safe travels.
Good job- I'm a Wyoming. Most out of staters don't do the research and know where to go. Your campsite overlooking the cloud peak wilderness was perfect.
Thank You, we're looking to come back again next year. We love the wipe open areas that WY has, so many people overlook what the state has outside of Yellowstone.
Pathfield Rd in IA is so pretty. Nice video!
Thanks. We enjoyed the area and will go back. We have a trip coming up to Nebraska and may do a side trip to see the area without leaves on the trees.
I drove it about twice a month. So many good roads out in those hills.
One of Rog and I’s favorite places to go❤
Me to, it's like driving in a postcard.
I drove that ditch of a road!
Thanks for sharing this! I was in the area a while back but didn't make it all the way to Kirwin due to the depth and speed of Wood River on the day I was there.
I hope you can make it back and get past the creek, we'll be hitting it again someday..
Holy crap!!! You just went past my momma’s house. Lol
We were there just a couple of weeks ago heading to Rutledge.
One of the last times we went through Ten Sleep the Conoco station had this little warming cabinet with fruit empanadas that were THE BEST!! Alas, the lady who made those and brought them to the station each morning stopped baking so they are no longer available. What a bummer after traveling 1000 miles thinking those little delights were just waiting for me..
We were back out there last summer, love the area.
Enjoyed the video. Don’t get back off the beaten path in this area as for 20 years I have travelled in a G Marquis out there. Maybe in a couple of years I can upgrade to something more off road capable.
Lots of nice places to see off the pavement, we still have a list of places to see.
Looks like a great trip! Great video thanks for sharing with us, much appreciated. Can't wait for the next one.
Can't wait to visit that area. Rory Gallagher is awesome, you guys know your Rock!!
Nice video, I plan on going to Wyoming soon, A ride to Kirwin may get put on this trip but definitely next year. thanks for the hiking/bear tip.🤣
I heard that the creek crossings are only knee deep!
That Big Horn Canyon view was outstanding! We enjoy a great ride! Thanks for sharing!
Well now that Dan has seen himself out, turn that Whiskey Myers UP!!! Badass music and great scenery. Thanks for sharing.
Got to ask-was that you playing the guitar for the backing music? Dug the video and your tunes. cheers
Wow!!! Absolutely amazing!!!
Thank You, it was a great trip.
Good music!!
Awesome views. 🙂
Great video and scenery - thanks for taking us along :)
Enjoyed your video, especially the music!! Keep them coming!!
Nice! The valley is just beautiful
looks like a great adventure!
Man that's nice. I sure miss the Cowboy State.
Any issues pulling the trailer thru there? Im staying at Telephone Canyon 1 in March
There were some small wash outs, but no problem if you slowed down,
@@RandyPennysAdventures are you using a ball hitch or something else?
@@camplerland1578 Our trailer has a lock and roll hitch.
Is this Lost Creek Road in Warrenton?
Lived here and grew up here
Thanks, I knew I had seen this feature but couldn't find it today.
Sure is good to see new people making that trail. Been going there since 89. Timber Hill, Pole Creek, Stoney Pass, Kite Lake and cord 3b to the mine. We try not to miss going every year but its 972 miles from Texas. I remember when stoney was barely wide enough for a 4x4 truck to go over . We missed 21 and went to Arkansas. Thanx for taking us along. Will be there in 22 "Thanx Fer Sharin"
Beautiful scenery!

I thought you said you pulled out of Hannibal MO? Where is your group out of? Great video
Penny and I are in Hannibal MO. There's not to many Overlanders here. In Missouri, St Louis, Jefferson City have the largest group of people. In Illinois, Chicago has a lot there. Hannibal, puts us in the middle of it all.
@@RandyPennysAdventures we live in new London so we try to get out but haven’t had much time this year
@@mikeandshelliesoverlanding Things have been a little rough with everything going on. Most of the places here in the Midwest are still 2 - 4 hours away. But we're coming into the best time of the year for getting out. We hate the heat of summer lol
@@RandyPennysAdventures we hate the summer heat as well. We’re looking for a group or even just a few people that would take the time and help some newbies out on places to go and people to go with eventually. We are new to all of this and we’re excited to start seeing new places. Next year we are going to try and make it to Colorado
@@mikeandshelliesoverlanding If we can help, we'll be happy to do what we can. Send me a friends request on Facebook. Randy Closs
That drive across Kansas is brutal but worth it
Yep, we take 36 and 96 across more than 70. But there's no good route.
Great voice!
Good lesson, sir. Thanks.
How long did it take you ? 4 hours ? We have been up to Stony pass from Silverton but never have taken it all the way to Creede.
Creed To Stoney Pass is about 2 1/2 hours. Just Stoney from pole creek to Silverton takes about 1 1/2 hours . Rio Grande Reservoir is also on cord 520. Timber Hill is rough so you have to take it slow or it will brake your stuff. Pole Creek can be tough if its been raining a lot. I have quite a few Videos of that run . starting with the Reservoir. Dont mean to hijack Randy And Penny views. Sorry if i did.
Great video!
Looks like a very cool trip. Thanks for taking the time to share it!
Hardly any people...love it!!!!
Absolutely beautiful 😍 "GOD'S COUNTRY " right here in our backyard. 🇺🇲👊🇺🇲
