Like it says really, I love writing music and it’s been a hobby (sometimes more than that) for ages, it’s only now that I’ve got a little more spare time on my hands and a dedicated room to write music am I having a chance to get back into writing again.
So I’m rubbish and slow but would love to work on a few short films if anyone out there is interested

Hello all, well it's been a while since i’ve posted anything so I thought i’d drop my entry for this year's Berlin International Sound Design Competition. These competitions are great for some on like myself to try their hands on working on some great movies with no sound track.
Can’t wait for this year's video to be announced and if you're like me who loves doing this kind of thing then go check em out, I learn so much about myself and my skills (or lack off) each time I work on one of these and it's a great way to learn and push yourself.
As usual give me all your feedback, comments, and if you’ve got a fun little project you like me to have a go at and your not in a rush (I do this for fun and I do have a day job) drop me a line.

So wasn't going to share this one as I kind of missed the mark on this a little and wasn't that happy with it but I just love Dennis Gerald's voice and the amazing work they do at the Cue Tube so kinda had to I was trying to produce something more in a John Adams style but got a little lost along the way, I would start again given the time....there's never enough time.

Four cues for a student film project i've been working on, you don't normally hear them back to back like this in the final short but I bunched 'em all together to to see if they flowed ok. Can you spot the 4 cues? The is my entry into the Belin film scoring & sound design competition 2021, i produced the sound design and the score for this and all though I didn't win I learned an awful lot along the way. These are taken from my original DAT's of the project so they should be super clean. Was great fun digging these out. I've another DAT floating around which had some audio sketches for Warzone on, when I get the change i'll see if i can't find 'em

I was very surprised to see you only have 200~ish subscribers. I wanted you to know that to a whole lot of us, your soundtrack for Warzone 2100 is a core memory and I listen to it as background noise all of the time. 2024, and you're still appreciated.
Naww, thanks very much. To be honest I was quite surprised I had that many and I'm constantly and pleasantly surprised when I see comments like this. It brings a warm glow to my soul that one of the most enjoyable games I've ever had the pleasure to work on was enjoyed by so many people. I keep meaning to sit down and do an update on these track but just never seem to have the time, maybe I should set up a go fund me page 😄 Thanks again for your kind comments and go tell your friends, who knows, one day I might make some money from it.

This is one of my favorite videogame tracks of all time. I played WZ2100 a lot when I was a kid and the music is still on my playlist. Much love from Russia!

Jim Parsons did a great acting job, wanted to slap the snot out of him from the first scene.. The young lady playing Katherine should of gotten an Oscar for her performance.

I'm not going to lie i've been thinking of doing updates off all the music with new grear etc for fun. Just need to find the time to do it. Maybe I coudl get a go-fund-me to take 3 months off work and write em :D
@@martinsevern2473 yes, what I meant. To collect all tracks, including unreleased, and make remasters/remixes of them into one album. Something like that: "Warzone 2100: complete remaster's cut")

Wow, this is truly impressive: For nearly a quarter century I've had this song engraved in my memory and everytime I started any new game in WZ21k it felt empty if I just heard "power resource"and not the music... Yet, and here's the clincher, it felt so dang natural that I never even realized it was an actual soundtrack I could maybe hunt down and listen to (or in this case, download so I can save it on a reel of tape)😅Until I kept hearing snippets of BGM that constantly and _instantly_ reminded me of this song in a let's play on a completely different game This also means you've instantly replaced Frank Klepacki's Tiberian Sun OST as my favourite, come to think of it (sorry Frank, this just has more atmosphere and nostalgia)😄 Thank you....Really, thanks for music so great I even recognize it in other BGMs😄
I’m always genuinely touched by all the comments from people about Warzone and that it still lives on even today. Also love that I’m now rated higher than the Tiberian Sun OST, so that's a win. We really had no idea we were making such a great game when this was in development, it was just a game that we wanted to make and that we wanted to play… sometimes thats the best way. Anyway thanks again for your kind comments and if you know a rich billionaire who would like to fund a sequel do send them my way.

Now I'm off to chisle a reminder in my brain to find an investor to liberate all the talent EA assimilated over the years and get the good games rollin' again😄

So gald that this still lives on and that people are still listening to these. I never did give these tracks a name as I was writing the music and also working on the graphics at the same time I never got around to naming them. Its only now that you bring it up that I reliase that that I never did, a bit sad really.

Impressive rescore. It honestly added to the tension really well. I also like how the reverb in the track almost makes it sound as though it’s echoing off the walls of the subway tunnel.

Katherine wrote her memoir with her daughter title katherine Johnson where she explains the events from hidden figures. She also noted that she ended up the rest of her career with NASA co authoring many papers with Paul Stanford (Jim Parsons) character. Wonderful book
I would give a lot to spend some time with her and just geek out on some math.

Yeah Warner Von Braun needed a genius black woman to do his math for him. He sent Rockets from Germany to England in 1943. This movie is full of crap and so is Kevin Costner.

Wonderful movie, but I don't remember the musical theme getting so loud that you could not hear what they were saying.
Check the title of the video. It's a rescore test. They're checking if a new score for the scene works.

A frequent problem I find. It's like no one actually bothers to watch the whole movie after the last editing decisions have been made.
@@foamer443 Same on TV shows - especially on the last scene. The music swells and you never hear the actors. It's like the directors think they are making a music video.

This is awesome. I'm happy, that the UA-cam-Algorythm has led me to this pearl. Hearing it, it sounds like a wonderful amalgamation of Vivaldis Four-Seasons, Batmans Dark Knight and Spidermans Birth of a Sandman. This is a very great piece of music, thank you for it!
