These wheels are very good, take a huge pounding and are properly tubeless. The spokes are now often rusty and while they can be respoked, they are often beyond the skils of mere mortals.....including me. There only a few in Australia who can do this and the fellow who does mine wants them sent to him dismantled....if you are not careful you WILL damage the rims as the spokes are a very snug fi...

    Here in Switzerland where it can get quite cold, I have been using Motul 300V 15w60 in all my bikes including BMW. And I have quite a few since a long time. It’s expensive but worth every penny.

    Nice work, good info...I take it that the brass is compatible with GL5 oil, otherwise it would not be recommended by BMW or yourself.. Don't ever use a GL5 oil in a GL4 oil spec gearbox, destroys the softer metal which I believe is used on the synchros. How do I know? I am now starting to use Penrite oils in my R80GS.

    Hi Mate, Have you seen this transmission fluid,Item #: 952560 Red Line V-Twin Transmission Oil with ShockProof I'm currently running it in my 75 R90/6 and 72 R75/5 with early model 5 speed. Seems to quiet shifts .It is advertised for Harly's transmissions
