Anyone experienced any issue with payment on the VFS global? Error Message: "Our servers have not received a response from your bank or card company, or you have not completed the payment process. If you are getting this message means that response is still awaited, and this may take up to 5 hours . If you don’t get any email notification in 5 hours, then retrieve your application and complete the payment process again" Can anyone share experiences dealing with this?

Correction: Passport File Number is NOT ARN number. You should be able the same on last page of passport.

Hi Varun, thank you for the detailed video. I have a question on one of the fields under Applicant's Family Details. My parents' names are spelled differently on my Indian passport than their passports and so, can I know which one you think I should use to fill in the details.

Please help me with this, my daughter (18) acquired US citizenship through parents when she was a minor( so she doesn’t have her own naturalization certificate). Now we are applying for her OCI, as an adult. I can not find the affidavit format that we, both parents, must sign and get notarized, that’s needed to be sent along with our naturalization certificate for our daughter’s new OCI application. PSA 📣 : In July 2024, if you are mailing your packet in, they capture details for the renunciation certificate as part of the form filling for VFS and send you a printable PDF to your email!🥳 If however ,you are visiting the VFS center by appointment, sucks to be you, as you have to find and print a poorly formatted renunciation certificate off the internet. Save money and effort - mail in!

Awesome video btw. I was going to go drop it off today and because I had 1 question that I wanted to double check, I came to this video. Saved me so much time and money because I had selected the wrong type of subclass and entered the wrong passport number at a few places! Would've been such a pain otherwise. Ended up redoing the entire VFS portion of the application.Thanks a LOT!🎉❤

A couple of questions : 1. What passport number are you supposed to write on the top of the document checklist? 2. As for the photos, do you paste one and attach another or do you just add 2 photos in a small envelope?

On vfs website when trying to add new customer they have last name character limit for 13 characters only as appears in my passport my last name is longer than their limit. Should I split it or not type the whole last name?

How is this streamlined… hate dealing with GoI… like why I have to get a Renunciation and then apply for OCI… why cant i do it together… stupid duplication of work… OCI documentation list has 18 items… like wtf… and if one individual in your family has paskitani or bangladeshi origins then for 4 gen are excluded… like seriously 4 gen…whole website looks so freaking janky… and who the f is VFSglobal… Received my US passport in 15 days and the document sent was way less than 18 documents…. and it costs me more to get a just Renunciation certificate than to apply for US passport and a card combined…

This whole process is confusing as heck. Do I write on the checklist doc on top - name, email, passport, mobile? And which passport number should I list there?
