I'm looking to buy two ULTIMATE, main reason for that is all the 1000 are sold out in my country and it's too costly to ship from anywhere else. I'll be running them at home with Pioneer Opus Quad, but I'm disappointed they don't have RCA input.

Personally, for the price. Id go with the sony. The extra tweeters provides better highs and clarity over the jbl. The jabl does provide a better bass. For an all around sound, i much prefer the sony. Granted this is the only sony speaker i would get though. I only wished the built it a little better. Feels too cheap but thats probably where they cut costs to make it cheaper vs the jbl. Jus my preference is i would go for the sony. If its the smaller speakers then i would shop around. I do like the jbl 320 for its features only not because of sound etc... the replaceable batteries is the selling point for the 320

How long those speaker works before test? To get full spectrum of sound speakers need to play around 200 hours.

I've been looking for a speaker for my semi truck that's loud and clear enough to be heard over the caterpillar with dual 6 inch stacks. Many disappointments. This morning I stopped at a truck stop to get some coffee. From outside I could hear the music playing. When I opened the door to the store I was thinking "They upgraded the sound system here. Cool" I went and got my coffee. The music while not extremely hard bass sounded clear and good. Then I saw that the cashier had one of these behind the register and took the time to show me. He showed me all about it and I was impressed. He can run up to 8 hours without any issues. He also said they are $120 right now. Get 2 if you can. I'm heading out to get mine in a little bit.

Well in holland the sony is 866€ and the jbl is 1156€ so for the 300€ difference you can buy more with sony

Compared these at the store during the weekend. As a former musician I confirm that The JBL Ultimate with out any doubt blows away the other one when they are side by side. The superior sound quality on the JBL Ultimate is immediately noticeable. Not sure how anybody could prefer the Sony, especially now when the JBL Ultimate was on sale at the same price of the ULT 10.
