they chose to use pointy rock deus ex machina and deprive us of a really good zuko/katara love story all so the avatar could live happily ever after. the only complaint i have with this otherwise masterful piece of fiction.

I like how the points in this video are mostly logical and from a analytical standpoint. But once in a while, there is just the "simping" side of reasoning.

I read somewhere that the writers kept aang and katara together because it would was to complex for a kid show to have it end in this way. As an adult watching the live action I think they should rectify and give us the proper ending. We all grown now 😅. I know it messes with the cannon but Idc. Cause they started this mess again in the live action with the scarf scene like what was that.

Its amazing how such a small change could have resulted in a much more impactful meaning. Another message that can be taken from ATLA.

Well argumented! esp on the part where Zutara's plot would've been the first step towards peace and as a helping hand towards Aang's efforts as the avatar. rewatching atla as an adult, Zutara makes sense, outside the fact that i love the "anti hero/ villain gets the girl"

Ok but in the show katara and aang had so much more build up and character development. Zuko and katara had 5 episodes max.

I think that there should've been a 5th season where Amon returned but his return was at the end of season 4 where he takes out Kuvira easily and then disappears like the wind. Or SOMETHING like that. I think Kuvira being defeated by Amon was what I truly wanted. Also I know what Tarrlock did but I mean Amon was a "waterbender" and he wasn't close to the blast like Tarrlock. There's many ways to write out that death. Or Tarrlock just never tried to kill him or something. Anyways I JUST REALLY WANTED AMON TO DEFEAT KUVIRA. Also Mako and Korra ending up together doesn't work at all for me. Korrasami is better, Mako and Asami is better, fucken Bolin and Korra is better. I just hate that pairing and couple so much.

I don't mind Amon being the first villain but I truly hoped that Korra never regained her fire, earth and water bending. Having her lose that power permanently would raise the stakes so much in the later seasons and actually show the consequences of Amon's arc. I also think the dynamic of Korra feeling like a "failed" avatar, the only one in history to actually lose the powers that makes the avatar unique to begin with would be very interesting in the later seasons.

When I first watched Korra, I thought Amon was going to be the main villain of the series. I was genuinely surprised when Tarlock blew up their boat.

I’m honestly getting a little tired of so many videos and articles about this. Personally I don’t care who ends up with who, I’ve heard all the arguments and I mostly agree, but the arguments are also always the exact same. There’s nothing new to say, I would just like people to stop it already.

Katara obviously chose Aang and they later got married & had 3 kids which they named Bumi, Kya, & Tenzin. End of story. Get over it you whiners.

amon is by far my favorite villain in all of avatar, he really had the villain aura even more so than ozai and azula, and it was interesting to think about the morality of his perspective since he genuinely does have an argument for being right

Zuko and Katara had this undeniable chemistry that just felt more intense and real compared to Aang and Katara. Their journey from enemies to friends showed how much they understood and respected each other. Zuko saw Katara as an equal, not just someone to protect, which could have led to a more balanced and mature relationship. Their moments together were filled with so much depth and emotion, and it's easy to imagine them supporting and challenging each other in a way that would make them a powerful couple. They just had that spark that made you think, "Yeah, these two could really be something special."

idk katara only ever showed interest in zuko out of pity. Where as she's interested in Aang immediately. Plus like Aang's the Avatar who's gonna go with some brooding sad boy over the most powerful bender ever.

ive never had a massive problem with katanga like most zutara fans do, even tho im a massive zutara fan, cuz i genuinely thing their cute, but when u pull up the parallels and their growth, in comparison to kataang it will ALWAYS fall short. There is nothing more perfect, or beutifully imperfect in a yin and yang relationships. opposites that complement yet understand and have been through similar experiences, making their bond even stronger. kataang fans can get as mad as they want because only ppl who know they are wrong have such visceral and strongly negative reactions/defences. zutara fans are always way nicer and chiller than kataang fans imo who are are so unnecessarily mean and vicious. its ok that not everyone shares the same opinion as you

Probably the best scene showing how Zuko is the better match is how he talks to Aang in The Southern Raiders. Z: "She needs this Aang. This is about getting justice and closure." A: "The monks used to say that revenge is like a two headed rat viper; as you watch your enemy go down you're being poisoned yourself." Z: "That's cute. But this isn't Air Temple preschool. This is the real world." Zuko & Katara hold the most pain from their pasts if any characters in the show, so it makes sense for them to form a bond. I really didn't like when Aang told Katara he understood: "You're feeling uncontrollable pain and rage; how do you think I felt about the Sandbenders when they took Appa? Or the Fire Nation after I found out what happened to my people?" Yeah not your strongest argument there. Sure, he was angry enough to enter the Avatar State both times, but he was easily brought out of it with a Hug. 😑 when Sokka agrees with Aang about how Katara wants revenge and she tells him he didn't love their mother like she did, we have to keep in mind that Katara actually SAW her mother seconds after she was killed while Sokka found out AFTER the Raiders left. She was younger too so the trauma took a stronger hold. Zuko also reaches out to her after joining the group "I do care what she thinks of me." He reaches out to her when they're in Ba Sing Se too "I'm sorry. That's something we have in common." I don't hate the writers for not putting them together we still got an incredible experience from the show, there's just little things that could've been tweaked. 😊

I feel like it would be super impactful and meaningful if the show ended with Aang looking up at the sky with his staff just like in the intro. That would leave the message that not all heroes gain everything after saving the world, while Zuko and Katara partnering up would be very symbolic to the recreations of peace and unity for the four nations. It would be a great way to end the show in my opinion.

To be honest, I am so relieved to know that it’s not only me who saw the same😮‍💨 From the moment when I saw an episode them having a connection in Ba Sing Se this thought didn’t let me go…why not Zuko and Katara? Thank you so much for this wonderful video! Katara does deserve to have a strong man like Zuko. Kenneth Branagh as the director is the main reason why this movie was a visual masterpiece. Looking at his background where he's a huge Shakespeare geek (probably more than anyone else in the industry), it's miracle that Disney got the right director to make this beautiful fairy tale because this movie feels like as if Shakespeare and Jane Austen had a baby and that's a huge compliment i can give

Actually legend of korra was a mini series due to having 12 episodes in the season 1. Season 1 was going to first and last that why korra got her power at the end of season 1 because they wasn't going to be a season 2 but they change they mind. And asami WAS originally going be a spy but they change it.
