It's an amazing boat, channel, site, magazine, but I would love, if I could, to build one with a REAL deck saloon, like Sirius DS. In a 50ft customizable boat, it could be possible, I imagine. This man knows all the shit. He tooks notes for YEARS, and anyone can learn from it now.

What I want to know is if the bottom of the head sails foul the pulpit? Do they have to lift up over the stainless tubing? They do on my boat and a lot I have seen. I can't imagine Dick would let that slide.

Watermakers work best if they run at least two hours per day. So I think it best to just plan on running the generator or drawing ample power (battery/solar) two hours every day. A hydrogenerator should help underway if you can achieve 9 knots. My considerations.

Sailing a kraken yacht to down under would be likely Raising a guide dog. To enjoy and love something for a year, knowing that you are giving something to someone that they will hopefully love too. Then straight away buying an fabiously kraken is not in everyone budget🫡😉. Of course kraken yachts welcomed everywhere. Or finance a yacht halve halve to shipping sailing it to partners. Then buying an yacht is best know owners was loving and watched they yacht.

Why kraken not giving two years minimum guarantees, building great yachts? Kraken should talking with every supplier to minimum two years guarantees! One year and at another video telling first 5years no further investment are needed? 🤷 what this?

Thank you for the video Amanda. Going to check out your other one on how to make the bucket. Not sure which Hunter you have there (maybe a Legend?) but your floor plan is largely the same as our 44DS. My through hulls are in exactly the same spot and I'm envious of your Groco strainer set up, that is awesome compared to the Hunter standard acrylic bowl strainers. They are WAY too small and a pain/mess to remove and empty compared to the Groco. This fall when we pull out I intend to change out our through hulls and strainers to look just like yours! Question, I seem to recall that you can replace the acrylic tops on the Groco strainers with a top that has a garden hose attachment. That way you would not have to take off the hose clamps to connect to the strainer inlet, you could just close the seacock, attach a garden hose to the top and start your acid flush. You would still need to disconnect the hoses at your return seacocks but it would save you standing on your head to disconnect those hose clamps. Come to think of it if you inserted a "T" fitting with a a cap off on the third leg of the "T" just before the outlet seacocks you could just close those seacocks and attach two more garden hoses to complete the circuit on your descaling bucket. Just trying to think of ways to make life easier...it's hard enough raising teenagers🙄. Thanks again for the video.

Ladder is awesome, I watched a video on testing emergency retrieval ladders for (person over board) in calm water, however in a shorthanded(1 on deck -1 in water) situation. In “CALM” water they had to use a chest wrap harness off boom to get them on! The ladder didn’t work! Ladder laid flat against hull, the feet weren’t able to get grip on the ladder, this was a healthy young man! In flat water, no wave, no wind, no movement, 1 adult man 1 young 20’s - man healthy. This is a lot! But I’ve spent a lot of time on all types of water activity, but the “LEVEL of DIFFICULTY!” To simply get “BACK in BOAT”!! And the “LIFE & DEATH” reality of that. Caught me off guard. It’s something I doubt many have thought about seriously and doubtfully worked out the plan and least likely to actually ; “TEST!” -They’re plan plan of action! Beautifully designed boats! I win lotto! I’m headed to Turkey! To get it built! Kraken! Cool name as well! Got to get a crazy Kraken sail made!! Big bright cartoon style sail with a Kraken on it! Think of the cartoon Adam Sandler as a vampire? (They had a good example of a Image of Kraken) (3rd - Hotel Transylvania!) - just remembered! tip, at 5:16, what he is meaning by a "grab bag", is like in w w 1&2 the b17 and other bombers had this ( a bag full of first aid kit, lighter, and other survival items, so if a "ditch at sea" was called for, this is what they literally grabbed on their way out of the aircraft).

I've played and replayed this video a lot, and I have no idea what these people are talking about ... except the lady... "OH MY GOD... OH MY GOD.

No need to cut the wires. The terminals on the end of each wire, slide on and off a flat lug. You can just pull the wire off, swap out the switch, and then put the wires back on - making sure that the wire colors are in the correct order. Be sure to snap several pics of the back of the switch before you pull the wires off. If needed, label each wire with a piece of tape, to make sure you get it back in the right place.

Oh no, not another sailboat with a salon. Must be run by a hair dresser. Only for the POSH dock queens. Sailors get rid of these and use saloons. Another example of more money than brains.

I noticed one issue withe the wheel pedestal. There are lots of switches and controls on the pedestal that are just inviting someone to reach through the wheel to operate!

The title said ‘salon’. Another POSH dock queen, not a sailor. Salons are for doing hair. Boats have saloons. So much for being POSH…. GO BACK HOME. Even Dick called it a saloon. He’s a sailor.
