I love to review the equipment and gear that I use extensively in my home gym. Reviews may be long(ish), but I like to be thorough and cover all aspects of a product. I will never review things I don't use regularly, I am always 100% honest and I have no affiliation with anyone or any brand.

awesome review and thank you for the content. I'm inspired and emailing Stray Dog now for details on a 30" set and your other questions you put forward. Thank you.
Yep these straps continue to be the best option out there IMO
Exceptional review. Thank you for thoroughly covering this rack.
Is this matte black? What would you recommend between the matte black and metallic black? Thanks
It's matte black. I wanted less shine (and fingerprints) so I went that way and would 100% get matte again. If you ever want to get the sliding attachments like Athena/Ares my understanding is the metallic has a bit less friction so that might be a consideration
Do those have raised lbs and the logo?,I have calibrated Olympic plates from Valor fitness and they look exactly like yours but the name and perhaps the raised identifiers.. They ship similarly, also say steel. I just didnt order them all at once because i thought theyd be more abused and shipping was in the price so it didn't matter. I spent about $1100.00 on a complete set from 2.5lb plates to 55lb plates.
Raised numbers and logo yes. Holding up really well
@@gamesngunz I couldn't tell for sure ok well thats one reason they cost more than some other plates Ive seen, some do some don't.
Thank you for the review. Are the pr5000 uprights matte black or metallic black?
Mine are matte black. When I was researching there were comments that the matte was more resistant to surface scratches. I also don't really want / need shiny and prefer more of a texture
First from reddit Well, at least you can drink out of it unlike the useless eleiko
lb calis gross dude. you dont need thin cus you weak
Niice! I’m sick of my iron being not accurate. I’m getting these or the competition bumpers in Kilograms just to be different.
What scale are you using to weight the plates?
it's the Smart Weigh 440lb digital heavy duty shipping and postal scale
I don’t know if you have any plateloaded machines, but would you say that the rogue calibrated plates are usable with them? I thinking about buying some for my home gym. But, since their hole is supposed to be a bit tighter, I worry that they won’t fit lol.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think issues like that with reputable plate loaded machines would be incredibly rare since they'd have issues with the top plates in the world. Ivanko, eleiko, rogue etc all use the same diameter spec for their calibrated plates
Great review, looking for safeties now and this is up there. Any issues come up with them over the last months? Still protects your rack/easy to change heights?
No issues at all. Use them daily and even had an unfortunate benching incident just last week where they were called into action. Flawless performance
I just got one and I love it. I do realize now 47 inch wide is a bit too narrow for me and squatting I feel I'm going to hit my hands reracking and will have to learn to put hands closer together. That's my only criticism.
I could definitely see that if you're used to 49. Fortunately for me I use a close grip when squatting so it wasn't a concern. You'll get used to it
I just got the Rogue Kabukki Transformer bar where its padded, has 6 squat variations and you hold it out front solved the problem and now squatting is as comfortable as it can get!@@gamesngunz
I have the rogue monster lite , thinking of switching to this
Don't apologize. If it makes you feel bad you can take your savings and invest them in another local or US company. How much does it matter where the robots and CNC machines are located?
How is doing pull-ups at 80 inches? Does it seem low? I’m in the same boat as you with ceiling height. Debating Rogues 90” vs Reps 80”. I can BARELY swing getting the Rogue but it’s high for my room
Not optimal but definitely doable. If I'm going aggressively I find I have to tuck my legs sometimes to get full ROM
Does the metal on metal contact with the mag pin and the rack uprights or attachments cause any paint chips or wear?
Nothing that I've observed. I actually coat the magpins with a thin coat of oil every few months just to be safe. I've seen zero wear
I upgraded most of my equipment to Rep Fitness, customer service and shipping was exactly how you described. You have a great setup!👊
When do you plan do release the rep vs rogue j cups review? I need to buy a new set ASAP lol
Thanks for your thoroughness! I’ve been trying to decide between this and the 4000 but this makes me just want to go for it and get the 5000. Enjoy your rack!
I think it's definitely worth it. You won't lust after anything out there ever again...
Buy the 5000 trust me. There isn’t the cost savings to justify the 4000 versus the future upgradability of the 5000.
Me as well. Thanks for the recommendation and strong endorsement of the 5000.
why not just use the rep fitness straps?
Rep was the first ones I had. They were ok but had the longest straps with the most sag that I've ever seen. I think Rep is in the process of revamping these according to some comments i've seen on YT and IG. Still, as is they're a good budget option if you don't mind the ridiculous sag (or are willing to replace them)
@@gamesngunz thanks I will actually consider this if it is much better quality than reps. I felt like they are the same thing but one is cheaper but I guess not huh? If it can last a lifetime and won't fail I would def get that more a few hundred more
why are these so expensive? and does this fit for 41 inch crossmember?
well they pretty easily have the most robust build quality I've seen. These will last forever and will never fail. They're not TOO much more than Sorinex and are better quality. Yes they fit 41in perfectly out of the box
where did you get your safety straps
They're Stray Dog Strength. Review here. ua-cam.com/video/TYSxAFVcTqg/v-deo.html
Great review! I'm looking at this rack atm. If you ever in the future do an Ares or Athena upgrade, I'd love to see that review.
I am strongly considering them. Wife will absolutely kill me though, so there's that
Did you try the Rogue monster safety straps? If so, why did you not like them? TYIA
Yeah they were the first ones I bought. Very good but similar design to the sorinex in that the pin that attached to the uprights was metal to metal on the hole and was grinding. If you don't mind that, I think they were better quality than the sorinex ones and much cheaper as I recall
You are the man!
@@gamesngunz thank you!!! One more question - are the rogue jcups that you have worth the extra cost compared to the Rep ones that you have?? It's so hard to get honest advice on this stuff
@@bro_nah___1 no. I bought the rogue ones because I thought they'd be a huge upgrade over the rep's. In fact the reps are as good if not better and were 1/3 the cost. Now... the rogues are taller which might work better for some activities, but man that cost...
nice review man, what kind of bar is that? Also, did you try the Rogue monster straps on the PR 5000? If so, why did you not like them?
Ah that's the Rogue C-70S bar. I kind of built the whole setup around it. Review coming soon ish
great review man!
Thanks! Looking forward to doing a lot more. They're fun to make
Nice review. I’m looking forward to your future ones.
