They did really good with this being an origin story for Willie Wonka I loved how they made the character look like a young version of Wonka from the 70s film down to the hat and coat. Pure imagination with this film Gene Wilder would’ve been proud 🍭🍬🍫❤

I know that Gene Wilder didn’t want a prequel or sequel but I feel like he would’ve been pretty proud of this. If only he could’ve watched this to know that his legacy was treated with respect.

I like how they didn’t make this final number a full extreme Broadway performance. It really felt like something he was singing while working.

This movie has restored in me so many childhood memories. So much passion, so much tenderness, definitly a major cintender for one of my favorite movies of all time, right behind Gene's portrayal of Mr. Wonka, of course.

I know that Gene Wilder was 100% against this and it is a bit shady that they waited until he passed to do it, but I think they did a good job. Kept true to the character and his spirt. I said good day!

It didn't need to be perfect, it just needed to be good. This shows how much Timothy really, really, really wanted this project. It was HIS baby, after all.

This song always puts the strangest feeling to me. It's a mix of that nostalgia for childish excitement, but a sadness for whar once was. A relationship that ended on a quiet whimper. A boy innocent to just enjoy what's around him.

I haven’t seen this yet but just this clip makes me think Gene Wilder might have liked this. At least more than the Burton/ Depp version

Who else kind of loved that the castle turned into the factory.

This ending made me cry. Part of me thought that Willy Wonka and Noodles would have remained best friends after this. Maybe the duo would start the factory together, maybe as friends or maybe even as a family. But a dream is a dream. And if you dream hard enough it will come true. If a sequel was on the horizon, let's all dream together and see it happen.
