Im having trouble. I have the explorer v8 with the edis 8 and i cant get the base to to start it? Can you help?
Did you get it running? I might be able to help if you haven’t yet go it going.
Is this a Delphi pump?
I like my sonic 🤷♂️ older nissans are cool but the cvt on th3 new ones....ew.😂
Talk too much ..do as like shit😂
If it doesn’t blow it’s likely a fan. If u have some fan speeds but not all speeds. It’s likely a fan motor resistor. If u have cold ac but doesn’t blow hard, do what’s suggested in vid. Clean that thing.
Hey man wat year is that e38 & wat model did u get a used one at? Im asking because im curious if a motor from a 740i 98 will be plug & play for my 1998 740iL
Nothing we tried worked. We'll try this.
Man this is gold, not the swap but him asking buddy to hold the phone.
Nissan .. is on the chain. I'll drive the chevy.
Yeah that chain is a bugger, the tensioner is under the rear cover (water pump is under front cover), and there is little room so getting the two bolts on the spring loaded tensioner started is always fun.
What a goof. Based on one car he is working on. He is acting like every sonic waterpump is failing. Idiot. Ppl have to stop making fools of themselves publicly like this.
Sonics are low quality.
I won’t bother with them in the future. This water pump isn’t the first problem this car has forced me to deal with.
Water pumps are supposed to be replaced every five years same with thermostat you goof
The coolant in the Sonic is supposed to be replaced every five years or 150,000 miles (whichever comes first). I was certainly surprised to find the pump leaking at just 39k miles.
@@blackjaredm never go by miles you would not use a water pump on a truck that sat 30 years and only has 500 miles now would ya that’s just not how dry lube bearings work lol
The Nissan maxima. It's much better to change the waterpump then the Nissan transmission.
Sometimes you get lucky on the maxima transmission and it just needs a speed sensor replaced, but I did dispose of a maxima with a bad transmission at 150k because I didn’t want to deal with the transmission.
I mean everything has its failures 😂
Now do the 7 series 😂
Oh, I’ve been pretty deep into the 740iL engines. Their water pump is the least of their problems. Usually I’m in those to replace all the timing chain guides.
My dad had one growing up, there was always something wrong with it. Now I have an E39 M5 and so far it’s been dead reliable
Those E38 7-series are some of the best-looking cars BMW ever made tho
They are one of my very favorite cars (appearance-wise). I have too many of them and need to sell a couple, lol!
That is awesome that the M5 had been good. I have yet to own one.
18 minutes tho
Its so easy
So easy, in fact, that I prefer to physically swap them instead of just reading (can be done on the board with only the first leg in the left row unsoldered from the board), copying and re-writing them.
Bro wtf are you doing? It's not a surface mount, just desolder the pins.
These chips have “j”type legs wrapped underneath the chip and they are soldered to pads on the surface of the board. Also the board has a middle layer of traces (so a bit thick) and small surface mount parts on the other side so heating from the back doesn’t work either. I’ve done a few of these. Ford uses the same chip but in the gauge cluster for PATS key.
Only use multi steel head gasket. That won't happen again when the head starts to lift
Yes, MLS gaskets are always stronger, but always have to get block and head resurfaced to 600rz if it was originally milled for conventional gaskets.
What's the mileage?
This one only has 228,869 on it.
Hard work my friend
7.3 internationals last forever... What happened ?
I bought it at a local towing company’s impound auction, and when I drove it up onto the trailer to haul it home I noticed that the cooling system was over pressure even though the truck had only run a minute. I’ll try to put up another video of what actually went wrong once I figure it out.
I feel sorry for the owner
Poor poor Chinese welds have no hope with that woopin !! Probably got an 80 pound weight limit lol
Yes, original welds and bolts wouldn’t even handle 80lb kid use for much duration.
I also find loading of dirty bikes easiest when employing free child labor !!
Good brother keep it up
I generally make an " additional access" hole for such nonsense. A hammer and chisel would have opened this up nicely...! Tape it up later.
Or just zip tie the radiator in.
Zip ties would probably do the job, but I’m going to sell this little truck and I think someone checking out the truck to buy it might be worried by using zip ties instead of bolts.
@@blackjaredm I'm sure it was worth doing right in this case...I'm just impatient. I do have zip ties incorporated in my 2009 Genesis though😄
Zip ties are great 👍. I always carry some taped to my dirt bike with the roll of electrical tape that I also cary when riding trails in the mountains. There are some cars out there with the boots over the inner tie rods of their rack and pinion steering held in place with zip ties because the tool for crimping the original type retainers will not fit in there and I don’t want to take the whole steering out just to crimp the single-use stainless steel clamps.
That looks like a pain in the butt.
This is easier than removing the plastic fasteners that hold the grill in place (and very likely breaking them in the process).
Not too bad by comparison. I just replaced some heater hoses on a 2001 BMW 740iL. Now that job is fully a pain in the butt!
This was me last week in my 74 Dodge that has rare air conditioning taking one bolt out to replace the Brake booster going through the Radio port while I'm on my back on the floor board Blind.
I’ve never worked on one, but awesome that you found a way to get it done 👍
Could be a Neuro Surgeon!
Had to take my whole front off too get to those bolts.
That’s really probably the best way to do it, but I didn’t want to try to release the plastic fasteners that hold the grill in place and risk breaking them.
What if I have 3 flashes but in the 3rd flash it holds like that. So you say it’s eight and then the ninth flash on yours it holds. So since that means eight, does that mean mine is code 2? Because it flashes two time but the third flash it stays solid for a second
Why didn't you get someone else to hold the camera and also, speak louder
Dude really?? Why don’t you just replace the broken piece of plastic spring on the inside of the gas door.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can’t you buy a new pigtail sensor and splice?
I have no AC or heat whatsoever, what do you think it is? ‘99 7.3
Looks like you can solve some issues. Please work on the camera work and editing of the video. JFC, I almost had an epileptic episode watching the video!
Where did you get your fuel pump. I can't find one that has the sender on the same side.
Ever do a followup on the replaced coil? I have the exact same problem. P1320 code is a pain in the ass. Runs great when the check engine light comes on... I assume the "computer" is to the right side of the center console? THANKS!!
Was trying to see if you could guide me on your video of 1999 f150 abs fixture
Was trying to see if you could guide me in a couple more steps, the jumper cable is attached to what else coming from behind the dash. I was going to go ahead and run new wire from green and black and red and pink. On the connector in the front I can’t seem to find the red and pink stripe
The measuring revealed a 0.065” difference between the sides of the my spacer. I milled the spacer flat and checked the runout between the torque converter and flex plate upon reassembly. The runout was 0.003” which flex plates can easily handle for hundreds of thousands of miles. Continuing to use the spacer with 0.065” runout however will probably break your flex plate again within 1,000 miles (and can destroy your torque converter’s turbine shims/bearings and nose tube and the pump in the front of your transmission). The best practice for longevity of your spacer is to torque the bellhousing bolts to no more than 45ft lbs and use loctite on the two bolts opposite the starter as they will eventually become loose as the aluminum spacer compressed. Taking 0.065” material off the spacer uses up about half of the available distance that the nose tube normally has available to slide towards the pump before bottoming against it as the converter “balloons” or expands under load, rpm, converter clutch apply pressure, etc. So if more than 0.065 material needs to come off the spacer to make it true again, probably best to throw it away and get a new one rather than chance the torque converter nose pushing on the pump and destroying it. Also, if you are worried about the starter’s bendix running too close to the ring gear’s teeth due to thinner spacer, don’t be because most Powerstroke starters only run about 1/3 of the way into the ring gear teeth when the spacer is new and about 1.295” thick.
Ripping You Got The 4R100 Done ?
Oh yeah, and thousands of miles on it + found another 4r100 at a you pull it wrecking yard and rebuilt it and put it in my other truck (because the flex plate broke and I had to pull that truck’s trans to replace the flexplate anyhow).
Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot. I have a question. the pulses of the coils can be seen directly on the connectors of the coils?.
Yes. But they are far easier to reach and probe all 6 at the computer.
*THANK YOU* for sharing these tips!🤗💖 I have a 2003 Pathfinder & the sunroof (somewhat recently) stopped working correctly. It kinda' starts opening...but then stops in a position that isn't even fully to the 1st step of "being open"...so I figured I'd search for possible simple fixes that may get it back in working order.🤷♀️ I didn't even realize how much I ENJOY that sunroof until after it stopped working! 🤔(hmm...pretty sure there's a lesson in that!)👀😊 Anyway, I REALLY APPRECIATE you sharing what you've learned & what's helped you! AND I REALLY APPRECIATE that you share it all with the intention of helping others!😊👍👍
what causes my abs light to be ghosty lit only can see it at night time
If I were to hazard a guess, it would be that light is leaking into the compartment in the gauge cluster that holds the abs light bulb. Probably light from the gauge cluster illumination bulbs if this is only at night when the parking lamp or headlight switch is turned on.
Huge thanks Jared for this video! I've just done this repair on our 2001 Xterra (ABS error code 17), could not have done it without your guidance. Opening the module was not easy. I used a Dremel tool with a thin cutting wheel, and once open I found that Brake Clean spray was useful in dissolving the glue/silicone. I left the resistors alone, but found that the chip had pulled from the board just as you said. I re-soldered it and we're back in business! Like the other commenter, I hate any fault lights lit on my dashboard. Thx!
Awesome! I’m glad it’s fixed and that you were able to successfully tackle it yourself.
This was good info if only there was a little more volume to your audio and you film the actual parts, I believe I need to watch a better video to figure out whats wrong with my ABS.
I will try to do a better job with audio and getting the camera pointed at the exact parts in the future. Thanks for your help.
