    4cyl dohc is the golden balance for engines imo. Everyone looks at the M50 family of engines, and they do sound great but 4 cylinder is where it's really at. Both NA and turbo.

    This explanation is consistent with my experiences. I have tried both MILVS and N54 intake upgrade plus tune from a reputable tuning house, and my Testo logs show a reduction in mg/stroke throughout the RPM range, except after 65000rpm (where I expect the N54 intake manifold promotes high rpm air processing).

      @@nicholasherbst4661 that is what we seen on dyno n54 intake looses up to 5k rpm between 5-6k its similar but from 6 onwards makes more power. In resume makes more peak power and less avg power

    Do your modified arms do the same as the MILV mod, which I believe allow the valves to open 1mm further.

      We have a video on milvs and they actually don’t do anything we done a full bench test on them. Check our video on it

    Great info thank you. So to make full potential of your modified valvetronic arms, you need the intake/exhaust mods. If you put the gravity headers on where do you fit the catalytic converters? Or do you run it without? I need it to be MOT able.

    Those single mass flywheels are designed to just be cheaper not a performance upgrade. However they don’t absorb the torsional vibration and the dowel is put under much higher stresses. This is probably the cause of the problem. Go light or stay with the dual mass. Fantastic video thank you.

I am curious what price range these will be I. When you start producing them. I’m curious if you made any changes to the intermediate lever or eccentric shaft profiles as well?

      Bigger cams are in development? we also need bigger header options as I feel the aftermarket currently is undersized

    I dont get it, please put me out of my misery. VANOS changes timing, Valvetronic changes lift, how are you changing duration as you mention multiple time during the video ? Isnt that fixed by the camshafts

    Have a 318is in the US and have been eyeing an ITB setup since I bought the car. Just terrified of having it go south and not having the car on the road for years

      If you want itbs go for RHD kit. I installed mine in 1 day, drove it with stock ecu for one year, no problems in drivability. Then one year later I installed standalone ecu, tuned it myself and made 170hp on otherwise stock m42 engine.

    Hey guys the comments on your latest Porsche intake video are turned off but wanted to say great video and very interesting. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the Porsche X51 intake and airbox as they utilise the same throttle you speak about but have a posh airbox and different intake runners along with what I think is different exhaust valves and cams.

      Hi X51 has ported heads, valves and cams are the same. Plenum is more gt3 like without varioram. Airbox is where it really makes a big difference. Our bds heads are similar to the x51 on our 3.8 we are making 345whp currently on stock cams and stock 3.8 intake manifold with our plenum, intake setup and full exhaust.

    Interesting stuff. Awesome to see that this engine is being explored more and more. The last NA inline six (port injected) BMW engine….. pinacle of decades of BMW engineering. Of course released with cost effectiveness in mind and margins. The N52B30 has more to give.

    Hi Bruno, im curious as i think youve already tuned an n52 with your VT arms, n54 manifold and gravity headers... i know the general rule is 3 stage manifold for daily driving and n54 manifold for track, but i wonder if the lower end power loss of the n54 manifold is negated with headers and the VT arms making it ideal for daily driving, keen to hear your thoughts. I think i need to replace the cats on my daily 125i and the Disas are probably past their best at 160k miles, so im contemplating gravity headers and n54 manifold (and your VT arms + tune if funds allow!)

    Hi, when are the BDS airfilter and BDS intake and Rocker arms available. They are “sold out” on the website. I have a E82 125i with the N52B30, Milvs, headers, BMW Performance carbon intake, full race exhaust, adjusted intake boot on the throttle body and I really want to break 300hp.

    Hey Bruno, Loving your development work on the N52. It’s a seriously underrated engine that very few people can see its potential. When do you think you’ll be offering a kit for the valvetronic arms and tune? Also I’ve seen a few shops in the USA testing velocity stacks. Do you plan on creating your own? Doesn’t seem worthwhile for most applications. Cheers for Australia 🇦🇺
