I know it would have been a pain in the ass to develop but I wish they made it a three game release. It would vastly of increased replayability of all of the games and it would have been super ambitious, but I understand why they didn’t or couldn’t. Still though, it would have been cool.

The phone number to me was the best feature they had. Be able to call someone for a rematch battle meant they become stronger and u can well level farm your poke and the fact they help u find important items like the stones is just awesome. I wish the future games had that feature. I mean Emerald tried get that back coz the president give u a phone and calls you so why didnt they keep NPC that could give u their number. I felt it gave the game a living role play featured. I love that fuction and wish they kept that in Violet.

I know these changes dont seem like much, But for someone who is all about team composition and team building and gets joy out of battling more than anything, these changes are huge. The elemental stones being available before the postgame and being able to be cheesed to get them 5-10 minutes after getting the trainers numbers opens up so many possibilites. At least 10-15 lines are now usable in the main game, you know, the part of the game that actually holds weight. The availability of more pokemon in general is a great help. And the addition of the odd egg is simiarly very useful for team building. Magby/Smoochum/Elekid/Pichu are really the only options or one of the only options of that type in the first half of the game and also really help with team building. Crystal is a massive improvement imo just for this alone. Makes replays a lot more varied then Gold and Silver

The lady in Olivine who mentions where you obtained your pokemon and at what level is huge!!! Crystal to this day is RNG/cheat proof within the game/cartridge itself so it can make a big difference in showcasing how rare a catch is. If you hatch a shiny at 1/64 odds it will say met at level 5, where as if you encounter something in the grass at level 23 shiny she will mention the route and the met level 23, proofing that it was a wild catch and not a hatch.

Makes me wish pokemon still did yhe 3rd game thing. Now that they are on the switch the 3rd game should be a whole other story along with updates.

2 other games ill be buying again, i beat ages and always wanted seasons but could never get it soooo nows the time.

i still regret trading my lv88 pikachu for a lv60 raichu, even more so knowing they buffed Red's pikachu to lv88 (i like to think its a reference to myself). idky but i always thought i was locked into using pikachu back in the day.

Actually, you are wrong. What started the trend was actually Pokemon Blue (JP). And then, Pokemon Pokemon Red & Blue (In.) was basically a recreated game based on the Japanese Blue....

wtf? I had no idea about the cup multiplayer battles you could do in yellow. I traded to myself as a kid but to my Blue cartridge. I only had one yellow cartridge so didn’t know this was a thing. I might have traded to friends with another yellow cartridge but never noticed that option.
