This week’s guest broke into the acting industry in her 40s. All thanks to social media.
This week I revisited my chat with Clara Batten, TikTok comedy content creator, actress and author of “Gin and Phonics”.
Clara tells me about the differences of being an actor then and now, how social media can bring exciting and unexpected opportunities, and why she wouldn’t do standup.
If you’re an actor looking for new ways of putting yourself out there, then this episode is for you.

And yet, here's Finland with a phenomenal education record who don't send their children to school until aged 6-7. "Learning" doesn't have to mean "formal education". Not sure if that's what Brett Wigdortz was trying to claim, but it is a little unclear in presentation.
In the UK we push each other down, not raise each other up, its a big problem but I think its changing
Well, I just met you last week. Knew nothing of yiu. But I was stunned by your beauty and then your words. Talking about the "get a hobby" bit, I did not know you did all those things, so I did not get it, really. I couldn't get past the child's pajama top. Loved the hair tho. So, just letting you know. Old woman in Florida.
Stupid people do something they dont have to, for geting what they want. But stupidier are those who cry about it…
It's so simple, you just need to marry into an extremely wealthy family and change your accent. Fraud.
Hey, watching my hives inflammation fade day after day until they completely vanished was such a relief, I went with what I pointed out and within the first 10 days or so the urticaria was barely visible! I just go'ogled the latest by Shane Zormander and after 20 days my skin has never been healthier!
Waoow really inspiring and empowering women.
Why did she correct herself to pregnant person? Every pregnant 'person' is a woman.
This is so true
Your terms are acceptable
A study ?
Yes
Can IQ even change ? What’s that study called?
Thank you for all the value content. I love that you found meaning in something like this. Looks cool.
Thank you 🙏
This is why women didn’t have rights
An interview nothing short of - gratifying. Loved the story behind the book going viral due to a great topic catch but also a revealing, relevant-to-masses headline. I wonder if the guest still has the headline at hand - as a marketer, would love to hear how the book essence was summed up in a headline which we know is bound to a certain character length. Thank you Maria and Alison for such a fulfilling dialogue.
5 kids in.. never did the cry out method. All of my kidos are super loving, super confident and never get anxious.. I am even now, always there for them and my eldest is now 20 and my two twins are now 4 so we’ve had some practice lol ..
Thank you for sharing
The misinformation from that programme is probably responsible for the amount of psychopaths and narcissistic people we have alive today
Throw the books away and do what comes natural to you
As humans we learnt how to share knowledge and experience. Why not leverage that? We can get ideas and listen to what our gut tells us
Second born children are often more relaxed socially, even with the same methodology used for both. It might have played a small factor, but there are other things at play
This was not an empirical study 😄
As a psychologist the crying it out method just teaches the baby no matter how distressed you are, no one's coming.
This honestly sounds like my anxiety and depression 🤦🏻♀️😅 probably why i deal with shit with dark humour and sarcasm. Gotta cheer myself up somehow 😅😂😂😂
I’m sorry to hear that
Just sounds the difference between boys and girls. Or personal differences
You're a terrible mother, And should be ashamed of yourself.
Feels illegal to be able to watch this for free
😁
Thanks for having me in the show Maria. I loved talking to you about all things employment and career reinvention ❤️
What a pleasure to talk to you and get your insights about figuring out your strengths and about re-entering corporates
She is absolutely fantastic 👏🏻👏🏻her sense of humour gives a Victoria Woods in dinner ladies vibes. I am here for it 😂
Thanks for having us!
Pleasure to have you on the show. Brett is revolutionising childcare and education
If you at all influential and reading this, I would like to seriously reflect on how widespread this toxicity is and to have a really honest conversation with yourself about the extent to which these behaviours are endemic in the kind of capitalism we have. Taking the more holistic approach to staff welfare is expensive in the short-term, but we are dangerously wedded to the short-term. I think plenty of leaders wish they could respond to this advice but ultimately fail to do so because of the short-term bottom line.
I hear you
Incredibly brave lady x
💯
absolute nonsense
"I only wanted it for the money." Congratulations! You have joined the 98% of us that need employment.
This made my day and validated my feelings
Glad to hear it
As a former employee there were lots of rumours about how actually ST ruined the business. Giving away free stuff to some random people. Plus I think AllSaints needed to move forward. He didn’t mentioned about other designer who he created womenswear. He’s other brand Bolongaro Trevor wasn’t successful and again was sold to someone else so the story repeated itself.
I love so much about this conversation and am grateful that your doing this but if there could be some awareness that women leave abusive relationships with nothing, no income, no personal money, no family suppprt, reliant on the state and charity’s and minimum low wage. Poor is a relative term, if children were in private school.
so she fucked up her life and blames it on a man now? i see
Sweethearts, it’s not up to workplaces to accomodate women, it’s up to women to suck it up and adapt to the environment
Cry me a river you're smart enough to become a lawyer but you don't know how to protect your assets when you're having all these children that need to be cared for. countless men have had their fortunes decimated by women you're nothing special.
OH STOP. Women have been doing this to men since the beginning.
It's hard for me to listen to opinions that are just clearly wrong, objectively, but because the people who hold them were incidentally rewarded in life with money and status they will always refuse to reflect or accept responsibility for how their choices affected their own outcomes negatively. For women, don't follow any of this unless you're definitely going to be this rich. For men, obviously avoid women who think like this who believe you don't have any purpose for existing except as a utility for themselves on their road to power and comfort.
WCorp's Measurements will be supported by the same vile forces that support DEI indices. They are essentially fueled by hatred of Men.
Men should learn from this too. Protect your money. Get that Pre Nup. Make Pre Nups legal in countries where they are not. It is amazing how angry women get when you mention a Pre Nup.
29:14 she says " Until you have been responsible for another life you don't understand what it is like to be trapped. " This is what men who were the breadwinners for their family felt like till very recently" And yet the vast majority of men carried out their responsibilities with kindness and affection. This is what these complaining women do not understand, They say abused people become abusers. That is what these women are. They are bitter angry and vengeful. Their anger may be understandable but it has no place in a normal society.. Make no mistake these are abusive women bereft of compassion empathy or understanding like most feminists. WCorp is a travesty fueled by hate - for men with an avowed goal of disempowering them. I have no doubt they will find funding and support from the DEI machine and the like of WEF. That is the nature of our times. WCorp is evil and will be supported by evil.,
All of this power women think they have is an illusion. You should be happy you have everything you have at the moment and stop complaining about men. Because the really bad blokes are close to taking this all away from you.
Something is seriously wrong with sound. Max volume, headphones, noise cancelling on, still hard to hear.
What is the answer then? Because the default (acceptable) position seems to be male entrepreneurs/business owners making all the money and women spending it. Are you saying that's okay? It seems a bit hypocritical only getting upset when it's a man spending a woman's money. Surely you can aspire to better than that! How about true equality?
This video needs to be seen millions of times more across the world. Hello from Pennsylvania! I'll carry this message with me into my next level 10 meeting and in my heart for when Im COO of my own company
My God, your channel is so needed!!!
Thank you so much 🙏
Her Geordie accent has almost gone. She's rather posh now. Its the London thing. Very charming ladies. Enjoyed this. What exactly is Donna's new business? I'm still confused??
Sounds like the difference between narcissism and confidence. Confidence usually has more to do with trusting that you can do something without abusing or maliciously manipulating, narcissism is the opposite.
It’s the consideration of others
@@anatomyofaleader empathy, right?
💯
First time viewer to your channel. Good discussion. Rob's _open_ And _clear_ Interesting - *on Rob's UA-cam channel* that also *shares this interview* - the _comments are negative towards the female reporter_ . So: One (same) Video on two different channels and two complete responses from the audiences (in the comments section) Keep sharing. Stay happy everyone:)
Why do you think that is?
@@anatomyofaleader Hallo & HAPPY spring 2024 everyone. Why are there *two completely different responses* from the _one same video_ ? _Rob's audience's_ / Rob's viewers _are More business & money oriented_ & _male_ ? Whilst the Female reporters viewers are More _women_ & will be encouraging a _female perspective_ ? Anyone can *see & read the comments* on *both channels* And there's two different responses to This interview. Anyway... *It's a very Good interview* . I am a first time listener to this female journalists channel. Keep sharing
Thank you for saying that. I really appreciate it. What I’ve observed is that my audience messages me directly in private (especially women). It makes me make an assumption that many women feel afraid of having their opinions visible publicly for fear of being targets. I’m very sad to hear mostly aggressive messages towards me and yours is that bright light that gives me hope
@@anatomyofaleader Hi It was/ it is a Very good interview of Rob Moore. I noticed that you find: Andrew tates voice _irritating_ And You also find Jordan Peterson talking _difficult_ ( Peterson has a high pitched voice)... And Rob Moore voice (you found difficult/ unpleasant to listen to).... *All three men* have dialects/ twangs. They *do not speak the queens English* (high niy Bryn khai) ...... Aka *Mrs bucket* style ( a character who pretends to be posh) As a suggestion -yoj could listen to an Andrew Tate interview? Or Even better Maybe _you_ could do an *interview* with Andrew Tate? Be *inclusive* ... Plus you will Get *tons & tons* of New viewers. ONLY through talking can things improve (even if it's two complete different views). Keep moving forward. Mr p Decker.:)
Most men I meet in my work don’t speak Queen’s English - that’s not it. It’s a certain style of presenting that women also do. I am all for having discussions even with opposing views.
Poor interview, edited to fit your personal opinion.
