Syria | The Knights Hospitaller of Margat (Al-Marqab Castle): A Documentary
My friends:
My new documentary takes you to Margat Castle, also known as, Al-Marqab Castle or the Castle of the Watchtower. The documentary will focus on the Order of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, or the Knights Hospitaller, or the Hospitallers for short.
Additionally, if you ever played the video game, Uncharted 3, you will see Syria's castle, Margat, in real life in this documentary. You will be able to connect the castle you saw in the video game with the actual Castle of Margat in real life. :)
Enjoy the content and post your questions, if you have any, in the comments section.
Respectfully,
The Phoenician

Thank you very much for your comment! Yes, your observation is accurate. I have a passion for creating this kind of content, and I build most of it by myself--starting with writing the script, hiring actors, getting them the costume, filming, and of course, editing the content and adding the music and sound effects. I am delighted to know you enjoyed watching my documentary, and I would like to invite you to subscribe if this makes sense to you. The next episode will be "Krak de Chevaliers: The Return." I will delve into the Hospitallers' triumphs, failures, and the impact of deception on their former stronghold: The might Krak de Chevaliers. :)

You are correct. The Assassins or Hashashin were a secret group of Ismaili Muslims. Masyaf Castle is located in Syria, and it was the de facto capital of their state. These historical facts are accurate, and they inspired the creators of the popular video game, Assassin’s Creed. I hope this clarifies, and I invite you to subscribe to my channel for more.

Most informative. The main Persian base of 'Order of Assassin's' base at Alamut Castle in Persia (Iran), also Masyaf Castle (Syria). Apparently both founded by Persian 'Hasan-i Sabbah' in 1090. Alamut and Lambsar Castles, became the foundation of a network of 'Isma'ilism' fortresses throughout Persia and Syria, that formed the locations basis of the 'Order of Assassin's' power (including: Syrian strongholds at Masyaf, Abu Qubays, al-Qadmus and al-Kahf. Operating for almost 300 years, from 1090 until 1275 BCE. During that time, they lived in the mountains of Persia and in Syria, and held/operated a strict subterfuge policy throughout the Middle East, through the covert murder of Muslim and Christian leaders who were considered enemies of the 'Isma'ili' state. the 'Isma'ili' State was eventually destroyed after the Mongol invasion of Persia and by 1275, the Mongols had fully destroyed and eliminated the 'Order of Assassins'. Xavier: thank you for your thoughtful and detailed post! I enjoyed reading every word of it, and I’m delighted to know you enjoyed watching my documentary. Without a doubt, the Assassins have embraced a strategy of conducting a series of covert operations to decapitate the leaders of their enemies, and in doing so, they succeeded in dominating the landscape, despite being heavily outnumbered. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts! I’ll be posting my new documentary about the Order of the Knights Hospitaller and Margat Castle soon, and I’d like to invite you to subscribe.

No. Hasan Sabah was Persian; his father was an Arab-specifically from Yemen.

@@ThePhoenicianTraveler Please re-read the posting, which is correct and relates to 1090AD, map & times. [...founded by Persian 'Hasan-i Sabbah' in 1090...] Father not relevant. Thanks.

Xavier: I read it, and it was correct, which is why you’re able to see it on my channel. My response was not to your original post; rather, it was to user-uk’s claim that Hasan Sabah was Arab, which, of course, he was not. Thank you for your comment 🙏🏻
