All good mate, sort of like a teepee, it a kuiu summit star, just a fly with a floor that’s held up by a trekking pole, it’s actually really good and super stable. As for the Cham buck, I have no idea how I missed, twice! Can only put it down to a very average rest with no support under the butt of the rifle, so yeah he is well educated now! With a bit of luck he’ll get to that magic 10” mark 🤦‍♂️🤣

@@highlandhuntersnz7641 no there’s not unfortunately, have a look a the luxe hiking tipis I wanted to get one but they were on back order when I needed it. Very well priced and super light, plus the option of a half tent inner. I may still order one, haha

Totally agree, without a doubt the worst part about hunting Canterbury in the summer months.

Yeah quite a few changes, always refining my gear. Biggest change is probably using a merino mid layer and buying the First Lite Uncompaghre insulation jacket. Its next level in the cold while on the hill. I've recently bought some summer weight pants as well, game changer for the hot days. Change in boot supplier as well, running the La Sportiva Karakorum gtx for the tough stuff, plus bought a Hilleberg Jannu for my 4 season tent.

Yeah it did, we completely missed the rut this year, with the entire country being in lockdown, they banned all hunting on public land while we were in level 3 and 4. We also had a delayed start to our game bird season as well.

Agreed, if you haven't missed you haven't hunted enough.
