The thickness is about 3/32" . Plexiglass can break, Lexan won't break.

Good review. I've had 1 several years. Converted a jet ski trailer. 30 lb minnkota on the front, 2 1/2hp tohatsu on the back. Check out troll king foot control. Like mine. Converts a regular troll motor to foot control. It is a pain to empty it out to drain it.

I agree with you re the water accumulation inside the hull layers. Have you considered putting drain plugs in the stern at a lower position to make draining the boat easier? I literally have to lift the stern over my head in order to drain the hulls. I have also noticed that if it is windy or the water is rough, or both, my Minn Kota 55 uses the battery up pretty fast. There is some information that the water leaks into the boat at the clamshell seam; I am considering running a bead of clear silicone caulk around the top of the rubber/plastic seal if that is, indeed, the problem. Another issue: although the Bass Raider states that all fasteners are stainless steel or anodized aluminum, a year after purchasing my (new) the staples securing the upper and lower hulls were ALL rusted. i contacted the manufacturer re this; haven't heard back, yet.

Could you use 1/4"x4" for the bolt?
Cher Vue I say you could give it a try! That would keep you from having to run it about a inch lower like I did in the build. It may be worth the try. This build I know works for sure!
We go to Weiss Lake every year and put in at Little River Marina. Actually was supposed to go last week, but due to covid travel bans we had to reschedule for September. Think the crappie will be up in the shallows still in September?
Jeremy Peace I think it will all depend on the weather! Best thing to do is get down there and find the guides and join in on the long line troll.

Does this boat work better than the bass raider?
Joseph this boat is perfect for getting in larger areas to fish out of. Especially for trolling. But the bass Raider is my favorite for fishing holes where most can’t get. And pond hopping

Hey guys. This boat seems awesome. But I have also heard concerns from other “so called in the know” people that says this 10E tips over as soon as a small wave or boat wake passes it. What are your thoughts. How about when the wind picks up
christotromp windy conditions is definitely ruff. It’s so light the wind just does what it wants to you. Especially just one man in the boat. Tipping over the boat is nearly impossible. We Muskie fish out of the pelican so when we hook a fish we are dancing all over it. Hopefully this helps you out!
