Great series ... I just wish that so many of the actors didn't look so similar. Difficult enough trying to keep track of everyone except Zoe with the blond hair.

What a gorgeous series. Wish there were more like this.

We watched episode 1 in anticipation of a good BBC Downton Abbey-style drama or Upstairs Downstair. Afterwards, I felt a bit down. The acting was excellent, but the atmosphere a bit sick. Spoiler alert! A young cat strangled by a deranged maid. A father groping his daughter - which of course she is not able to tell her mother - same father being compulsively adulterous with multiple women. An emotionally blocked young woman who feels responsible for everyone's happiness. And so on.... A few days later, my husband said: I'm not sure I want to continue with this series. Indeed! Me neither: it was all so nasty, except for a wonderful Hugh Bonneville who portrays a good father and husband.

Great series. And I just love watching a lot of spoiled, bratty rich kids act out. This series seems to gave quite a variety. But watching the parents, the little apples don't fall too far.

Actually I'm glad it's over. A good story but ser 5 & 6 are innidated with short ads (although I'm premium) an the SYNC gets worse and worse. Poor confused endind 1 out of 10.

This episode lifts off and takes the series to new heights. Almost every vignette is emotionally charged, poignant, full of portent, tenderness, even the children understand the gravity, the tension and stress in every character and each small moment are fully palpable.

This episode has gone downhill from the earlier ones. Lots of crass ads you can’t skip. Lack of synchrony between lips and speech. I am disappointed.

Yes it is a great story but as I have just read the book I find it is i too t would be disappointing. quickly from one scene to another. Surely more detail would be more of a build up. For example the German maids behaviour and the scene with Louise and her dad it was condensed. If I was the author well it would be disappointing

Love this era. The clothes designed so formal, their hats. The old cars.

The sound is very out of sync. Unfortunate the first 4 were good. The picture quality bad but you tube free movies are always like that. I appreciate the download but it is hard with the sound so far out.

Maybe British woodpeckers are different but here in the States they drum in spring, not in autumn.....
