Exactly, less automation and less time spent editing automation. It's not always the best solution of course but setting up 1 or 2 per instrument can be great for adding variations easily. 😀

It can be very useful though, a classic one I use a lot is having the Amp Decay, Amp Release and Filter Cutoff and sometimes the reverb mix assigned to one macro on an arpeggiated synth, similar to the macro in the video. It means less automation, plus you could assign it to a dial on a midi keyboard and record automation in very easily.

Thanks 😀, hard to tell, it might just be serum and a certain distortion, eq and processing chain creating that sound. It does sound like a hardware synth but as shown some digital emulations are getting very good now.

Thank you! I think the Studer 800 has been a great plugin for me as i does more than just a regular saturation plugin, with the different tape models. The LA2A is a great compressor too as well as the 1176 collection. The distressor compressor is something I would look at as well but I already have a different version of that so I don't need it. My main philosophy with buying plugins is to get plugins that are lacking in my DAW or aren't available. I got the Pultec EQ and the LA2A for free for example and I probably wouldn't have bought them as I already have the Fab Filter mastering bundle with ProQ and C2 plus Ableton's stock plugins. If you already have some arturia stuff and it sounds good and works well for you then I wouldn't worry too much about having to get UAD as there might not be a massive difference between them. If you do want to get some though definitely sign up to their mailing list as they give out free plugins and discounts and notify you of sales too. 😀

@Modul8onlinewould you recommend getting the plugin? Or is span similar?

@@jamietru9923 Span is very similar for the frequency analyser part, but vizion 4x does have a waveform analyser and spectrogram in too. It is good but I did get it on sale or the introductory offer so I would just wait until it’s on a big sale to get it if you really want it. 😀

@ Fab Filter Pro-q4 is a must I think especially with the new update, it makes EQ easy to learn and understand. Outside of that I would just focus on getting plugins that my DAW doesn’t have or ones that are much better than in my DAW so depends on what you’re using. Generally a good multiband distortion plugin like Rift, Saturn 2 or trash is a must for electronic production. Roar is alright but just lacks a few features at the moment. Valhalla DSP have great reverbs and the delay is great too, also nice a cheap. I might look at making a video when I’m back about my favourite plugins.

Thank you! Part 2 is out next Tuesday or Wednesday, can’t remember when I scheduled it for. The drums are just about finding similar samples and then I process them quite a bit, mainly EQ and some compression. 😀

@Modul8online do you usually put the drum one shots in a drum rack and then midi? your mixing is always super clean.

@@James-b7q6v yes, main drums in a drum rack especially kick, snare, clap, hats, some percussion. But outside of that I also use some audio loops and chopped up loops to layering into that main beat to help fill it out. Thank you! There isn’t a a lot about the drum processing in this video series, but there is some in other breakdowns 😀

@Modul8online that would be difficult, even maybe just including the project file that has everything minus the drum samples that might work with the legality of it. And people can just grab the same drums off splice and that way they get the full project file with everything with them paying for the drums off splice and just adding the same samples to the project that way it should all avoid copy right issues of sharing drum samples. Maybe monthly streams doing requests of songs and different parts to breakdown would be awesome too. Thanks again!

@ well the drum samples from the remake will be in the sample pack in part 3 as I made all the samples from scratch, it’s more the full arrangement, Melody and chord sequence because I would essentially be selling the song so I just need to look into it, Yes that is a good idea about streaming, I need to work out my setup 😀
