    I beleive, the way we give instructions to computer software which translates the instructions to machine code has been evolving and will keep evolving always. The only thing that will remain constant is the human creativity. So learn what to instruct and and how to instruct because the process always evolves.

    I think the biggest question from production on, is the total dependeency on the AI to change the app. At some point in time, you will lose control of what is written and the disconnect between code and developer will only get larger and larger.

    • @shadowphoenixxx
      @shadowphoenixxx 2 дні тому

      I mean, it is kind of a similar question to something like python vs C++. It's a layer of abstraction that streamlines stuff and makes dev times faster, but if you need to get into the nitty gritty, you are still on your own, which is good, as that means this will be a tool for progammers and not a replacement.

      Yeah the risk of this is higher given how much easier to write code. This sort of thing would happen in regular codebases too though, especially when multiple developers are involved. Hopefully there will be some AI tools that help keep things clean and well documented/organized.

    Amazing video! Was the framework for the card draft shown on minute 1:39 made by you or did you use a framework made by naturalcrit? I want to create a similar output with my custom gpt but for meal plans. I don't know yet how to get the text output gpt gives to a good looking meal plan "card" similar to the one you are showing

    • @VoloBuilds
      @VoloBuilds 3 дні тому

      It was data stored in homebrewery (naturalcrit) and rendered by them. I just submitted the text in the syntax that their engine knew how to render properly. For your use case I would advise to build or find something that can display your data in a nice format and then use your GPT to create new cards on that site. Or even just build an app that uses the assistants API. One more thing to check out would be Claude Artifacts!

    You may never see this but I’ve been looking for some help on like “HOW to use AI to code AND learn”. Because I can just get into a copy and paste loop, I don’t know anything but if I sat down and learned it and stopped copy pasting, I would know it already. Just wish there was an easier way to do the two

    • @VoloBuilds
      @VoloBuilds 3 дні тому

    Another great way to keep your code base clean and readable is to not use React and Tailwind.

    • @VoloBuilds
      @VoloBuilds 3 дні тому

      Haha I find that problems arise mostly when devs misuse these tools rather than the tools in general. For me, React and Tailwind strike a good balance of abstraction and ease of use.

    • @VoloBuilds

      Couple of thoughts: 1. You should use the sidebar chat (Cmd+L) to see this 2. It only appears if Cursor is intending to modify an existing file that was passed into it (tagged or the file you're currently on). If it writes code for a new file, there will not be an apply button and you will have to create the file and copy/paste the code.

    When you go through some tweets on X, you could see things like, mind-blowing how good this new tool is, it can do this and that and yes, it even can do your laundry. You said, "you need to know when to stop to rely on these models" - thank you. I myself use LLMs a lot and while these tools are great, they really have limits. Generally, when someone says mind-blowing, chances are, that he is the wrong word or that he has only a very rough idea of what he is talking about. In summary, LLMs are great, but we really need to know that they that not that advanced that they could do everything on their own. In a lot of cases, you still need to do some modifications manually.

It also states that “once you hit your fast usage limit, you can still use premium models, but your requests may be queued behind others at times of high load.” My question for you is, have you ever reached that limit? And if so, what was your experience with slow uses like?
