    Do you recommend creating a one page resume even for a 10 years experience person ?

      I actually do! In my opinion, it's important for experienced folks to show that they can condense information and present it in a meaningful way, so this becomes a good opportunity to demonstrate that skill. It forces you to focus on the most important achievements and projects which will make your resume seem even more impressive rather than watered down.

      YES, I have 25 years experience, I can tell you as a Hiring Manager the one pagers get my attention faster than multi page. It's just easier to scan for hiring managers and if you cant sell yourself on one page you probably can't on multiple pages.

    Hey Volo. Great Video. I think it would do even better if you had your credentials in the title (e.g. "Director of Engineering's Guide") cause it's a pretty common topic

      Thank you so much! I originally wanted to include something like that in the thumbnail but it got cluttered so I wasn't sure how to make it look nice.. Went back to the drawing board just now and trying a new thumbnail :) hopefully this helps! Thanks again!

    I started learning web development 1 month ago and now i feel like I'm wasting my time since chances of companies hiring freshers for web D role is getting slimmer and slimmer.

      Try to find some real world problems to solve, especially in a niche you are familiar with - and start building things. You will gain great experience and it's possible that you could start your own solo business! Aside from that, look for alternative companies that don't usually hire web devs but still need technical work done

    Hey Ivan, regarding data engineering whats your thoughts on future of data engineering in IT, do you thing AI will have impact on data engineering jobs

      I'm Volo - but to address your question, I think AI is having effects across all technical roles, so all of them will evolve. I think when it comes to data engineering, there is an escalating demand for this type of work, but also an opportunity to accelerate it by using AI to clean/map data across systems and quickly build data integrations. I would look for ways to take advantage of that opportunity while the window is open, perhaps to build products that can help companies manage their data and automatically clean/integrate it.
      Over time, I expect more and more data engineering tasks will be automated by AI so the role will shift to overseeing AI and deeply understanding business requirements when it comes to data integration so that it can be translated into instructions for the AI.

      I think you should try building a full website or app instead of trying to learn specific languages or tools in isolation. Trying to build something will drive you to learn these subjects more quickly and naturally. You can learn much faster by asking ChatGPT to explain how to approach a problem and explain code it writes for you.

      @@VoloBuilds do you mean sth like this: so, before learning these languages, try to define a project which I want to build, for example, a website. And then instead of learning things in isolation and diving into all the details, learn what's most necessary / needed to be able to accomplish the project--learn just enough?

    • @VoloBuilds
      @VoloBuilds  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes exactly - and because you are learning with purpose, you will retain the information much better. Also, since you're building something *real*, you will be exposed to real problems that you need to resolve - and those skills will carry on across many projects. Finally, doing such projects will help you build your experience and confidence and add to your resume.
