Took a nice ride on the RS 660. Slow would be to test the vehicles, MPG and comfort on a long trip. The RS 660 is capable on the track streets and long rides! Pretty long video buckle up get some popcorn. Enjoy thanks for watching.

A GSXR 750 WOULD murder it
Thanks for watching! No comparison to the GSX R 600 or 750. Different segments 8R is a street sport vs GSXR 600 and 750 being Super Sport bikes. The inline 4 in the 750 makes about 50 more HP than the 8R parallel twin! 😎
Nice video but music was very annoying!!
Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback!
@Motahead7930 no worries. Other than the music, very informative and balanced.
I've got this bike in blue and I totally love it 💙 Just for your info, the modes a,b,c do not change the amount of power, it only regulate the throttle response. You can actually find graphs online showing how much every mode affects the throttle response. I actually just mode A almost 100% of the times because I'm lazy and I don't want to twist my hand very much 😂 Enjoy this wonderful machine. Cheers
Which one is your favorite between the two, say if you had to only pick one.?.?.?.?
I’ve got a video coming up really soon where I will let you know!! Thanks for watching😎
Nice. So these bikes are more upright and comfortable than the Ninjas? I guess I have to have an open mind on Suzuki after the big 3. This rabbit hole is deep. So many bikes.
Yes definitely a rabbit hole lol! I would say the Ninja 650 and the GSX 8 R are close in comfort. The 8R ergonomics are almost equivalent to a naked bike.. If you’re considering these two, I would definitely swing a leg over both at a dealership! TheNinja ZX6 and ZX10 are going to have a committed sport bike riding position! Thanks for watching !!
@@Motahead7930 Thanks for replying. I like the fairings as looks and protection. I definitely need to start small. I saw you started on a scooter.
Best sports bike of all time is 100% the r6 with the 636 as a close second. Gxsr 750 in third place. Killer bike but just not as popular as the other two.
Thanks for the comment! It’s always great to hear people’s favorite bikes! I can’t wait to check out the R9! R6 is definitely top tier sportbike! I gotta try a GXSR750 Thanks for watching!😎
Happy I got the GSX-S750
How closely do you think this bike compares to the fun/excitement factor of the rs660?
Great question! I’m going to do a full video on the comparison! RS660 is a totally different animal!
@Motahead7930 looking forward to it 🤙
@@gabrieltiso8537 Awesome thanks for checking out the vid!! 😎
seems great, will ride one may add it as a 3rd bike. CFMoto 675 has my attention, but seems like US politicians may ruin it, hope not
I also really like the cfm 675 sr. Im australia so hopefully they give us a good price.
I’m waiting to see how the r9 and 675ss compares to this
Totally Agree! R9 is going to be ridiculous! 675SS is packed with value!
675ss will probably keep up pretty well especially mid to higher rpm range. The R9 is just a beast and is going to blow most things in the "middleweight" category away. I will be transparent, i am buying the 675SS. I own a CFmoto CLX 700 Sport and absolutely love it. I think it would be a better comparison to the GSX8R.
R9s a different class really. 3k$ more, makes 40 more HP, way more aggressive ergonomics, fully loaded electronically, etc. This is a closer competitor to the r7
Ya the r9 looks rowdy but my sensible side is saying wait for the tiger sport 800
@jerryx2000 Thanks for watching!!! Yeah I find the throttle jerky in mode A from a stop. GoPro 13 and iPhone 😂 Thanks for checking out the video!!
16k miles on my 8R and absolutely love it. Appreciate the content and your time ✌🏼
😳 WOW!!! The 8R is an amazing machine!! 16k is incredible! Thanks for watching my friend! Stay safe!!!
Did you look at the Tuono 660 at all? I think I've made up my mind that's what I'm getting as soon as I can sell my bike. I test rode the Street Triple as well, and didn't like it. I can't do the sport bikes because of my back.
Thanks for watching! I haven’t had a chance to swing a leg over the Tuono 660 yet. I know it’s pretty much the same bike from what I understand. Some say it a little more nimble feeling the the RS660! Will give it a spin at the next available demo day! I found this video that might help with perspective. ua-cam.com/video/9wiCX4TsrwU/v-deo.htmlsi=u-Hs3OkxI84MPuz9 Also they just announced the 2025’s which has received several updates! Good luck on your pursuit of your next bike! Thanks for tuning in!
This is my first bike and i love riding it. Its throttle modes were a large part why i got it because i wanted something that i wouldnt outgrow but also something that i could grow into and stamping down that torque in C and B was perfect for a new rider like me. As for the QS down i heard itll smooth out after 1k miles or so even though i only have 250 left to the first service.
THANK YOU!! I currently ride a Suzuki GSX S1000GT. I have been shopping for a middleweight bike. I took advantage of multiple manufacturer sponsored demo rides to test various bikes. But demo rides are designed to make you fall in love with whatever bike you are on. I have reduced my list to the 8r and rs 660. You are the only resource that has experience riding both. Because of your UA-cam content and commentary, I have decided the rs 660 will be my next purchase. Your content and the few rides I have enjoyed on the 8r confirm it is a very good option. However, it is very close to the ride on my GT. The rs offers a riding experience that is unique enough to warrant the purchase. The rs also comes equipped with additional rider aids and equipment to justify the slightly increased MSRP. My primary concern with the rs was comfort during a day ride. This video relieved my of these concerns. Again- THANK YOU! I would continue being appreciative without your assistance!
Wow!!!! Thank you so much for your kind words!! It really means a lot!! I really enjoy the 8R but I love the RS! The 8R is a great choice as you’ve mentioned! But it’s something about the RS! Will you be keeping the GSX S1000GT? Have you had a chance to check out the updates to the 2025 RS? Thanks for watching my friend! Glad I could offer my perspective on the two bikes!! Stay safe!!
@@Motahead7930 I am keeping the GT. It is a fantastic machine! I have not had the opportunity to compare the 2024 model with the 2025. I am not sure when the dealership near me will be receiving the 2025s? Thanks again! Be safe as well!
Tells you speed cameras as well
Wow!! Thanks glad you let me know! Thanks for watching!!
300 miles? I would do that the first day.
Yeah, I would’ve loved to do 300 miles on the first day 😂 I got about 150 on it the first day. Thanks for watching!!
I dont know why your fuel milage is so low. Are you driving around at high rpm all the time? You should be getting around 45 highway and a lot less if you are getting on it all the time.
You need frame sliders and front axel sliders. Other than that maybe exhaust and let it rip.
You think she is good for 6.2 feet ? Good video 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!! I have no idea because I’m 5’7 lol! But I watched a video from daily rider. He mentioned that he’s 6’2 and said that the bike is comfortable for him. Probably best to swing a leg over it to make sure . But here’s the link to the video. ua-cam.com/video/5ZWQAi23Mxg/v-deo.htmlsi=-llMA_KwqGawnx70 Thanks again for watching!!!
@Motahead7930 thank you very much for the feedback, that's cool. I'll take a look at it. The bike is rly niice. Thanks for the info 😉
Anytime Thanks for the question! Thanks for watching!
have him take an MSF riding course to see if he even likes riding in the first place.
Agreed! I offered to pay for the MSF! Don’t think pops has any interest in riding 🤣
That was one really nice ride I recently bought a Burgman 650 and that thing can go. I've been group riding with a few Harley and Goldwing riders. We've been hitting the scenic routes enjoying the fall colors.
Whuddup Bro!!! Congratulations on the Bergman 650! Yeah man nothing like seeing the fall colors and getting out on the rode! Especially with other riders! Scenic is my favorite I always find routes that I bypass in the car! Stay safe brother!!
As you probably know there's two different types of aftermarket cruise control options available for the 8R..the mechanical handle cap knob that rotates to holds the throttle or the electronic cruise control systems..the matt black always looks great from afar but up close the glossy fingerprints are off putting..then the special care involved to keep it looking good..is just not worth it..the bikes color choice shouldn't be about what the rider likes..its about visibility to others that really matters..Yellow is great for visibility..almost too good as cops will see you miles away.. guess its about balance..as far as exhaust systems goes only the Yoshimura has a high flow cat made for street use vs the others are track use only..plus it sounds amazing too..
Beautiful scenery and beautiful bike, I want to trade my Yamaha for the RS 660, but everyone scares the Sh**t out of me... reliability, repairs, n parts for months.....
Thanks much appreciated! Yeah I hear you about the reliability repairs and parts! I didn’t have an Aprilia dealership near me until last year. So I waited to pull the trigger. What kind of Yamaha do you have?
@@Motahead7930 MT07.... did you have any issues with the bike that made you want to get rid of it? Whats your plans after warranty expires?
I was able to secure the 2 year Aprilia extended warranty from AF1 in Houston. You get two from the factory. I haven’t had any issues with the bike at all so far. That said I only have about 500 miles on it. I’m hoping that the 2024’s had a lot of the bugs ironed out. We shall see though. 😂 I know the 2021s were the big problem bikes.. plus I don’t think it hurts to keep it as stock as possible as it relates to engine minds and tunes.
😂..it feels like you're cheating on the 8R..you keep talking about the EX while riding the 8R..😂
@@agentcovert 😂!!! Every single time I hop on either. I feel like I’m cheating on the other one!! 😂😂
The new Honda CB650 with E-Clutch or the new 2025 Yamaha MT07 with Y-AMT
I’ve heard great things about that E clutch. The MT07 looks amazing though!! I like the update! I’m going to get pops out to swing a leg over some of these bikes!
ill be getting a better seat for it soon lmao, that seat sucks for long distance
Man! You pushed through!! What was the total miles?? That’s wild!!!! Lmao
@@Motahead7930 was little over 1k i think
Considering CBR 650R, and 8R and Aprilia. If you had to choose one which one would you go for? I am 47, 5ft9.
Thanks for checking out the video! We are in the same range. Wow that is a great question. What type of riding do you plan on doing? Are you a returning rider or will this be your first bike? I wish that I had seat time on the CBR 650R. The 8R is a great do everything bike. The RS660 is full of character! The CBR650 has the inline four. The RS 660 is an amazing machine if you live near an Aprilia Dealership. If not, I would probably take that one off the list.
@@Motahead7930 I am expierienced biker rode a lot of my friends bike since I was young and I owned SV 650 S 2007 full fairing for years. Now I am back to buy new bike again. I dont need ride 1000cc I rode my friends ZZR 1400:) I ride mostly to have fun and trips around 100 miles. I have all dealership within 15 miles range:) GSX8R is like my old friend SV650 S but need a lot modification to look like a proper bike (tail lights:)) I checked for a few miles modified Aprilia with Mivv Exhaust and some tuning and I was in love straight away but in other hand I am worried about reliability of Aprilia and service cost:) CBR cons heavy and E clutch looks awfull:) Don't know yet what to choose: heart =>Aprilia, brain==> Suzuki or Honda:)
8R content.. seen +20hp @ 10lbs of torque at the wheel on a dyno..with ECU flash, air box , exhaust mods..that's HUGE gains..you can switch to clip ons vs the oem risers if you like a more aggressive riding position..stainless braided brake lines are always a good improvement for any bike over the factory brake lines..obviously a tail tidy kit..seen a few fender kits that mount to one side of the swingarm that looked factory..kinda like the Rocket 3 fender..small and tasteful..
Awesome! Thanks for watching! One great thing about the 8R is the aftermarket! Just took my first day trip on the 8R! Video coming soon I discuss some of the mods that you’ve listed above! Stay safe my friend!!
I done 1800 miles on mine so far, fantastic bike all round, headlights are a bit shit but other than that you gotta nitpick for flaws
Congratulations on the RS660! I agree I just took it on my first day trip! Had a blast!
Call me crazy but i like styling on this more than rs660. Especially the color yellow. It pops.
Yellow is definitely my favorite color on the GSX 8R! Probably the least common out of all three colors!
They both sound like lawn mowers 🤷🏾♂️
😂
RS660 sounds meaner 👍🏻
@@KaizenMotoz Agreed!! Thanks for watching!
rs660🎉
I have to agree! Deeper note and much louder in person! Thanks for watching my friend!
can i use my kidney to pay that bike..??🥺
💯
Unfortunately, the 660 i have the 8r the exhaust is the only thing i hate
@@tavareschatman3235 agreed! But just checked out your 8R on your short! 🔥🔥
Luv u brother 🎉
Kawasaki key tag on a Suzuki 😂😂 love it
😂😂YEAH! Crazy! Thanks for watching!!
AF1 racing out of Austin Texas offers the actual Aprilia 1 and 2 year extended warrantys. They would be just like from Aprilia direct. They are also the largest oem parts supplier in the US.
You have no idea how helpful this is! Going to give them a call! I appreciate it! Thank you!!
You Sold the 8R? How much was the RS660 Out the Door? @Motahead7930
@@SacrificiaLamb.The.Gixxerator Thanks for watching! Still have the 8R! RS660 was about 14 OTD!
Im looking into getting a bike and something about the rs660 speaks to me. The way it does everything so well. I am 25 looking to get my first bike, would you say the rs660 is a good choice. I keep getting pulled towards it. I do plan on taking it slow as I learn and want something that will last me years
Thanks for watching my friend! I think the RS660 is an awesome bike! Would I recommended as a first bike? Honestly it wouldn’t be my first recommendations as a first bike. She’s a little spicy. Honestly that bike pushes you to want to go faster and faster. But again you know yourself and how well you are able to take things slowly! Have you checked out the RS457? It has a lot of the same styling 270° parallel twin. Better screen. From what I hear handles great! It would be worth it to check it out as well. Maybe compare them face-to-face at the dealership… Either way, I hope you get all that you want my friend!! Thanks again for watching!!
I started on a RS660 Exrema an I have about 1000 miles on it … I say just respect the bike an respect your self with the decisions you’re gonna make on the bike and you should be fine. The RS660 is spicy indeed just keep that in mind.
The RS660 Extrema is a beautiful machine! Congratulations!! Thanks for watching
Try a Tuono 660 as well
Love it
Nice bike bro!! Like the comparisons!
Thanks Bro!! Appreciate you for checking it out man!!
I've rode the 8r and loved it. It was actually comfortable for me At 6 foot 1. I rode the daytona 660 and it's OK but didn't enjoy it like the 8r and the position wasn't comfortable for rides longer than 30 minutes. I'm 36 btw so middle age I guess lol. I like the sound of this motor on the aprilia though and really want to try it out eventually, but wandered how it compared comfort wise to the 8r.
I want to try the Daytona 660! Comfort is so important especially for longer rides. I agree the 8R for a sport bike has unmatched comfort! Thanks for checking me out bro! Stay safe!
@@Motahead7930 8R have one big issue... It sound rly bad. At the traffic noone hear you so for the dealer price you have to add like almost 15% to it...
I totally agree with you regarding the exhaust. I’m working on a video where I’m riding both bikes back to back. And I mention the exhaust note from the factory on the 8R is super quiet! I’ll probably post that couple days Thanks for watching!
I know its pretty late to comment on this video, but do the mirrors do their job? How is the visibility and aerodynamics when compared to the OEM mirrrors?
@@ashtoncasedy3237 Never too late to post on this channel! Thanks for watching. The mirrors had pretty poor visibility. This would be great for someone that’s not running mirrors and just wanted something to have in case they were pulled over. I ran the mirrors for about three days. Put the OEMs back on shortly after
@@Motahead7930 thanks for the swift reply
Kawasaki Ninja 650 Ultimate all around wonderful bike and 2,000 cheaper.
Ninja 650 is a solid machine! It’s one of the originals from this generation of middle weight sport bikes! I’m a fan! Did a demo ride about a year ago. ua-cam.com/video/Ip8auNoz6vQ/v-deo.htmlsi=MY7lhHd7LxOUw2zZ
It isn't $2000 cheaper, it's msrp $8800 and dealers are selling at $9400
I've seen the 8R dyno @ +20hp / +10lbs of torque at the wheel with a flashed ECU, new exhaust and air box mods..that's HUGE gains..most other bikes need $2k worth of mods just to get another 5-6hp..
Thanks for watching! I agree you can’t beat those gains!! I see that TST has a pack available with a tune for less than a grand! I think the 8S being released before and the bikes being so similar helps with a lot of that development for mods and enhancements!
Where did you have seen that?
@@peterenis4752 several bike dyno channels on here..the 8R was also used to break a track lap record with a few mods of course..it makes a great low cost track bike..
@@peterenis4752 TST industries has a kit that you can purchase for the 8R to increase horsepower and torque..
That seems so brutal to basically ride it like it's in limp mode for 500 miles then to continue to limit it until 1,000 miles to 7k rpm..They should offer a break in service that puts them on a dyno for a few days hooked up to a computer to vary the rpms etc..a break in program as it takes basically 6 tanks of fuel before you can actually experience what you paid for..
Exactly!
whats the actual fuel economy of the bike?
Thanks for watching!!! So it’s got a 3.7 gallon tank or 14 L. I’m averaging about 48.6 miles per gallon. Give or take 180 miles per tank.
180 miles on a full tank
not about you or the video, but 800cc being called MiDDLEwEiGHT makes me slightly disappointed. its closer to a liter than to a middleweight smh my head.
I test rode this at a demo event, ill post the video soon, so give me a follow, but man this bike blew me away how good it is. The power torque delivery is fantastic. The clutch and brake feel is great and like u said it is just comfy and i dont ride sport bikes because i hate the riding positions. I also rode the daytona 660 and the 8r is much better bike. Just seriously great bike or beat bike in the middleweight sportbike caregory by far.
Thanks for watching! Definitely gave a follow! Can’t wait to see the demo! I want to try the Daytona 660.. I heard that the engine is amazing. But the other parts of the bike are hit or miss. . Stay safe, brother!
