    The odds of a 70.4% free throw shooter missing 4 consecutive free throws is <1% 29.6%^4 = 0.77% to be exact

    23 years later. George Hill missed FT, then JR Smith got the offensive rebound but he forgot the score was tied, and dribble out of the paint 😂 Win or Lose the series, the Cavs deserved a win in that game. 😅

    Even referees Joey Crawford and Steve Javie mentioned about Nick Anderson missing those foul shots- ya felt bad for him. They talked about him, all that work to get to the finals and the littlest things like this happens in big games that make or break teams.

    A game like this is why the Golden State Warriors losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers the way that they did, caused them to call for Kevin Durant to join team because they were never gonna be the same after losing and needed someone to help them get to where they needed to be

    Horace Grant had the easy put back layup and decided to take the ball back out. Would have made it 112-107. Brain dead basketball. I was so pissed off that night.

      He was trying to take time off the clock so the Rockets wouldn't get another possession immediately it's usually a smart way of thinking. He obviously didn't expect what ended up happening to take place.

    • @vicanthony5470
      @vicanthony5470 2 місяці тому

      @@ChrisM07 you run clock when you're up 4+ pts which is 2 possessions. Time doesn't matter when you're only up 1 possession and even if you run 24 seconds off the opponent will still have the ball down 3 with 7 seconds left. You put in the layup and go up 5 there with 30 seconds left. You go up 2 possessions. Grant is a low IQ basketball player.

    • @ChrisM07
      @ChrisM07 2 місяці тому

      @@vicanthony5470 What Grant did wasn't what ended up costing them the game though, it was only what happened afterwards that what he did seemed like a big deal everyone has had at least 1 postseason blunder even high IQ players. After the misses at the line Penny revealed that they were supposed to take a game of delay to see what play the Rockets were gonna run but because of what just happened they weren't focused which is how Smith got the head start. They also could've just fouled immediately and sent Smith to the line, they made multiple mental mistakes in that stretch.

    I was a young Nick Anderson fan living in Portland Oregon. I was a fan from the time he got drafted. I even had a Nick Anderson jersey back then! I was devastated when this happened, and the hard time I got from friends couldn't be nearly as traumatic as what Nick went through. His career never recovered, and I am sure to this day he thinks about it. He was a good guy, and a good teammate.

    Shaq & Penny could have been legendary. They were swept in '95 by Hakeem's Rockets, thanks to Nick Anderson's monumental choke job in game 1. The following year they were swept by Jordan's Bulls in the conference finals. Shaq went to the Laker's afyer that, where it took him 4 years to win his 1st title. Something he could have accomplished with Orlando if he had stayed put in Orlando. But, a last, we'll never know. 😮😮😮
