Hi. I'm Terry. Welcome to my travel channel.
I have great memories of back-packing south-east Asia as a young man. Now I'm heading into my senior years, the thrill of discovering the beauty of the world and the shared humanity of its people still burns bright within me. Hopefully my adventures inspire you to explore the world around you, too, and remind you that age is not a barrier to a life filled with curiosity, learning and vitality.

In 1904 the tiny hamlet of Dalgety on the Snowy River was chosen to be the site of Australia's capital. But it never happened. I'll tell you why as I explore the heritage towns of the Monaro Snowy Mountains area of NSW.

Newcastle: The travel destination you didn't know you needed
Переглядів 6 тис.21 день тому
Newcastle was once known as Hell Hole and all it had going for it was industry and coal exports. But these days NSW's second largest city is a vibrant mix of the old and the new with plenty of culture, cafes and great beaches. I spend a few days exploring and am pleasantly surprised by what I find. Where I get my music: 30 days free trial share.epidemicsound.com/s01qpi

Wallangarra: What's life like in a small Australian rural town?
Переглядів 53 тис.Місяць тому
I travel to the small town of Wallangarra on the Queensland/New South Wales border to see what is life like in an Australian country town. Wallangarra used to be a busy break of gauge town but life slowed down considerably when the trains stopped running. I look at the unique challenges faced by a community split by state borders. Later, I risk my life to hike a mountain known as The Pyramid an...

Australia's Hidden Seaside Gems: 1770 & Agnes Water
Переглядів 13 тис.Місяць тому
There's a vibe about the Town of 1770 and Agnes Water. They're very laid back, everything goes slowly and it's like the locals wear a smile that says: "Yeah, we know we live in paradise." It's unspoiled but there's also a touch of Byron chic that attracts sea-changers, backpackers and surfers alike. I explore what the towns have to offer and ride an amphibious vehicle to a lighthouse. Where I g...

Another good one thanks Terry. You will be back home soon so what happens after that?
I’ll continue making videos. But where? I’ll reveal soon 😀

It would have been quite an adventure in the old days
Bombala was going to be one too.😊
I enjoyed this video! Growing up my best friend’s family had a holiday house at Dalgety. We stayed there and visited the snow. Great memories.
10C sounds perfect to me at the moment as I sit here in 35C heat 🥵☀️🕶️
There is no curse just stupid people
Another little gem. I heard about the Snowy River Scheme and Lake Jindabyne many years ago. It was great to see it and the other little towns. Well done my friend. (Pete, Manchester UK).
How lovely to visit those little towns especially in NSW as we're based in Sydney.
Lovely video. Well done climbing up the boulders. Best Wishes Pete (Manchester UK)
I’ve been up this way Terry 😀 I remember Jindabyne. Very popular area. I didn’t stop in the other areas just passed thru. Brings back nice memories for me. Nice to know the history of the areas. Love to know how many Ks you have clocked up with your van. Thank you so much for information. Love it Suzy
Nessie has taken me around 35,000km. She’s a gem 💕
hmmm great idea and video [thanks, I am in Dalgety] though you mispronounced the word Monaro, [its Mon-air-o] and you also said "in 1804" when speaking about the idea of making Dalgety the capital, should be 1904..
Thanks for letting me know.
The politicians quickly excluded Dalgety after visiting in the middle of winter. It is also pronounced Mon-air-o.
Thanks for letting me know
Oh Tilba is like it’s straight out of a storybook! Gorgeous town!
Another great Vlog, and a history lesson as well! Keep up the great content, cheers from Downunder 🦘🦘🦘❤️🇦🇺
Such a peaceful video ❤
Good to watch one one of y videos while having Saturday breakfast. The thing about your videos is how one should regard the trip as important as the destination, most just maybe stop in these small towns for a comfort stop and keep going, not realising what they are missing. Hopefully, these videos will encourage travelers to slow down and take in the area.
That’s been the point of these videos. I’ve mostly avoided the big cities and explored the places in between. 😀
Very nice vlog Mister Terry, nice surroundings.
hi Terry Going out on a limb here - you’ve been travelling “clockwise” haven’t you. What beautiful countryside. I love that such a place remains a hamlet. “There’s not much here” - all the better. Somewhere where there isn’t mass tourism. Sadly on my long overdue return to Australia next week I won’t be having enough time to visit beyond Perth and Sydney but you’ve opened my eyes to the many possibilities for future visits. I really love your “show”. So glad the “algorithm” led me to you. Until next time Zoltan
Yes I’ve been travelling clockwise. It’s a vast and beautiful country. Glad you’re enjoying the videos 😀
Thanks Terry, sooo interesting wonderful scenery as well.
Like the Blair Wich just a deam not true.
The poster at 2:48 describes something similar to the Strid in England. Except that the Strid is also so turbulent under the surface that it batters people to pieces.
I'm from England but travelled from Adelaide to Cairns 2023. I remember you Cardwell, the history, the crocodlile warning signs on the boat ramp!! I stopped on the campsite and went to the pub. Full of locals. The real Australia. Great little town. I hope you are all ok and keep safe in the floods.x
Great video loved it 👍
Thanks. It’s a really interesting town
What a beautiful place great video enjoyed it thank you you do a.great job ❤
Glad you’re enjoying the videos 😀
Do you hv over there venomous deadly spiders and snakes ?😊
Of course! As they say in Australia, everything is trying to kill you. Don’t let it bother you.
@ 👍🏼 thank you. Very interesting video
The middle song fits the video so well. I love it. What's the title?
Song in this video: Easy Now by Melanie Bell
Try to watch there's more video of your face than there is of the surroundings. Sorry so irritating got to move on.
Thank you for always making videos well informative, enjoying and simple. Cheers mate
Glad you enjoyed it 😀
Very interesting mate
Hi yes very interesting town I have been there loved it cheers
there's a youtube video about a stream called the strid in england. also, very unassuming and if you see it you'd think you could jump across it. and you can, but it's basicly a wide river on it's side. very deep and with a lot of underwater caverns and currents. i contracted an acute case of thalassophobia after that one. it amazes me the amount of ignorance people have when it comes to inland water. you can see the rocks have been churned to pots and waves but they think you'd just float out.
Beautiful filming scenery and music choice for Hanging Rock.
I always swim with crocs, since i was born...nothing of extraodinary...
My mate lives there
Thank you for the very kind words on my wife’s store Seaglass Traders keep up the great videos they are so well put together and best of all they are genuine😊❤
Really stunning! what month was it when you´ve visited Flinders? Obviously not in summer 😁
Very hot in summer. I was there June 2024.
@@LetsGo012 Good to know. It´s an important information for me as a German. Most people from outside Australia travel during the summer months when it is winter in our hemisphere.
If you came for the thumbnail - move on.
Like the Bolton Strid in England, there are caves and eddies and undercurrents under the water, which drag people to their death, even though the river can be as little as 3 feet wide, from 100 feet wise further up and down
It's just a beautiful place, of natural selection! Hop in! The water's fine!
Love the vibes and your music choices!
Everything in Great Britain is haunted. Everything in Australia is cursed.
I really feel like quitting my job and doing the same 😊 one day I will ❤
I highly recommend it 😀
“It was the tunnel of love. Now it’s the tunnel of stink.” I hear ya brother.
May I ask what is this music at 12minutes?

I could never get why people were and are obsessed with the devil's pool. I used to do pretty silly stuff, but I'm still alive. The top pool is perfect. Stay out of the graveyard.
💛
I grew up near The Boulders in Scottsdale, AZ. They also have a nice pool but not deadly that I know of.
Mena Creek is a nice spot. But that castle is bloody expensively priced. We admired it from the outside. If I remember correctly it was like $50 per person. Couldn't justify it.
Yes it was about that much but it included a night in their nearby campground so I camped there
It’s called devil’s pool 😈 🏊 for a reason
